    Nice old-school video I miss a screaming Valletta class 43 hst storming out of stations blasting loads of clagg out! the class 20s was probably from Healey mills/tinsley I was at Rotherham station recently it's well changed!!! Good video 👏👏👏🥰

    My local station now closed and deserted. In the days of steam when coal was king it was a joy to spend a day there the amount of freight was unbelievable. Thanks for the memories.

    Went on those trains (in the early 90s) as they were still running. Happy days with that loud screaming engines as they chugged away down the line. Music to my ears.

    I used to use Masborough, in the 60s,going with my friends to watch the Millers.Great days, this video brought it all back, thank you.

    Such a busy station the old Rotherham. Sheffield was a maize of railways. Shame it all ended not helped by loss of coal etc.

      @@spompey Not sure what makes you think that, and why every political party over the last 40 years has sacrificed us common folk on the altar of "climate emergency" but while we obviously differ on politics, let us enjoy videos of our childhood with the rail network of our youth ....cheers....Phil

    Makes you realise just how recent it was that the country ran on coal as much as oil and gas.
    Love the Class 20 in BR "BIg" livery that you had at 14:03 - Am I the only one that's thinking "Blimey, how long did the Type 1 DMUs last up North?" 1987 and its not all Pacer's and Sprinter's?!

    God I don’t even recognise it. I’ve been thorough Rotherham by car more times than I count and Rotherham station has always been a two track station. This view is a complete 180 to me, I didn’t even know Rotherham used to have four platforms.

    Hi used have Ian allens numbers book hardback with pictures of locos love it write down what ive seen and travel from kings cross to aberdeen by train over night in york charging 47s locos over long journey best days of my life trains were so different

    I remember the new station being "new", but don't remember using masborugh station. Long train full of coal does bring back memories though!
