    I agree with your hiking comments, this bag really looks like it would get annoying or in the way if you did a whole day of any hiking. It probably would be great for an office bag though!

      +B RADD you’re right, it wasn’t fun for scrambling over rocks but if your just hiking on a trail it’s good. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Great satchel! I opted for the Black color for the purposes of edc and once in the woods, I don’t think the color makes much of a difference

    I got for quite a while now and I gotta say it's cool. It really is, but the strap isn't my cup of tea if the satchel gets a bit heavy. +I don't like that the buckles are the same on the strap ends and the bag itself. It would've been much cooler if they where the opposite on each side, so you could take the strap off and hang the bag on a thicker branch on a tree.

    Just got one of these its OK but the underneath is very thin its got molly underneath if held up to the light u can see through the stitching needle holes its aimed at the bushcraft hobby so bit pricy for what it is have bought a tougher ruksak for 10 pounds cheaper putting metal items might ware out the underneath its OK for clothing or cud put a liner in it ?

    Everything looks brand new, are you actually using the stuff?

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  5 лет назад +8

      Hey David I appreciate the concern. This particular video is reviewing the satchel only and at the point in time of the review, I had taken it on a number of hikes. Just the hike that’s featured in the intro- was more than 10 miles on mostly unmaintained trails with scrambling over boulders along the way. I felt I had enough experience with the satchel to make a review of it. I understand your concern and I do share it. It’s good that you’re keeping the community in check. The other items haven’t been reviewed yet. I post a lot on Instagram if you want to see photos of gear being used, I haven’t been active on YT for a while now.

    Hey Dave, I have two questions about this bag:
    1) How has it held up for you? And 2) how much weight do you normally keep in it (do you feel there's a "max" that you wouldn't want it to exceed)? Thank you, I appreciated your review!

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  4 года назад +2

      Hi John, thanks for the questions! I would say this is a light duty satchel, it’s 500d cordura. If you want heavy duty I would recommend something with 1000d cordura fabric. The only bushcraft satchel with 1000d is the Raging River Haversack, I made a video review of it on my channel. There’s a review for it and then a separate video where I compare it with the Hidden Woodsmen haversack.
      Back to your questions. 1) the stitching held up but I’ve worn the bottom a bit. 2). I would say 15lbs is comfy maybe 20lbs to 25lbs would be Max weight

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  4 года назад +1

      Max Weight in terms of carrying gear comfortable, not the maximum weight before the bag fails. It’s a light to medium duty bag. I think if you’re putting in 40 lbs and carrying that often it’ll have the potential to fail

    Nice bag👍

  • @circedge
    @circedge 4 года назад +1

    Yeaaah... 65 bucks though. That buys a lot of surplus haversacks that last a lifetime. I'm thinking 30 bucks since I doubt the double stitching is particularly frequent. Or is this some kind of ridiculous cordura premium, as if regular nylon won't last unless you stab it in the face.

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  4 года назад

      I really like surplus gear too. I love camping in my polish laavu tent and is army pup tent. So much fun. I really like the organizational pockets tho, i like having the knife and saw sleeve on the outside and ready to go.

    Great looking haversack! With the quick release buckle, do you think you could fit a maxpedition Janus pouch to the buckle?

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  6 лет назад

      +jediknightofthewoods how wide is the teeth of the buckle? From tooth to tooth? I’ll measure it and let you know if they match up

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  6 лет назад

      Hey Jedi, I just measured the buckle. the end with the teeth, from tooth to tooth mesaure 3cm. The receiver buckle measure about 3.5cm. Hope that helps.
