This list is very surprising to me. I have worked as a vendor in fragrance for many years. I have worked in all kinds of stores from Ulta and Sephora to Saks and Neimans.
The worst one is Pink Sugar. You have got to be kidding me. Over Juicy or Prada Candy?
No Gucci, No Prada, No Tiffany, No Coach, No Jimmy Choo…

@@cherylstell3344 are you a man though? almost all my compliments from men have been from super sweet fragrances none of them cared about the brand or whether or not it was a balanced scent. meanwhile women complimented me more on my more expensive less sickeningly sweet perfumes. i don’t know why you’re surprised it’s pretty common knowledge that pink sugar is a huge compliment getter from men even though i don’t personally like it.
i could watch ilythia talk about perfumes over and over! love her clean aesthetic, and she even speaks in a pretty and clean way somehow 💗

Marc Jacobs Daisy Love has been my go-to for a few years now. Every.Single.Time I spritz myself with it my husband is quick to compliment and remind me how much he loves the scent on me. 😊

I may strongly dislike Black Opium but because of you I bought a small bottle of Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche and I absolutely adore it!
I’ve gotten SO MANY compliments on glossier you. It’s such a simple, pretty girl scent that definitely works on simple days when you don’t know what perfume to wear. I’ve expanded my perfume collection a lot but honestly I don’t think I could ever get sick of it

Yayyyy! 🥰 I love Angel Muse ! When I first smelled it I hated it , but as it wears I just came back for more and more till I brought it home. It is my most unique scent and I get lots of compliments especially from Men when I wear it. It is also super strong 💪🏿
My husband is a little unique in that he loves lavender, lemon verbena, and fresh scents in general. He seems to love SJP Lovely on me the most
My favs from this list are BR540, Coco Madamoiselle & Valentino. Getting ready to add Le Labo Santal 33 to my Fall rotation along with TF Oud Wood.
Great list. My husband seems to be partial to floral and clean fragrances. A few that he compliments every time I wear them: Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia, Armani Ocean di Gioia, Donna born in Roma, Libre intense.
May I ask is GUCCI FLORA GORGEOUS GARDENIA REALLY JUST GARDENIA BECAUSE I LOVE GARDENIA AND CHANEL HAS A BOTTLE RIGHT NOW $10,000. I would love to try one drop.
I have always been a perfume/fragrance enthusiast! I do not buy that many brand ones, as they are quite expensive in my country, but I do have a few, and I do love some body splashes ngl, but OMG I love that I found a channel that talks a lot about the touches and scents in a perfume, that speaks of similar ones, that feels like I was reading a magazine from back in the day talking about the luxury and beauty of perfumes. Love your channel so much.

This is a very subjective topic. The same perfume will be totally different on every single woman due to acids in one's skin, so it will never smell the same.
Exactly....this is why people should not buy perfume for anyone unless they know ahead of time the person has used it, it smells good on them and likes it. I have seen women wearing perfume presents which made them smell like skunks. I have smelled a few men who had aftershave given to them as presents, wore them and they also smelled like decaying wood. 😝
So true. La Belle in theory smells so lovely to me and people love it, but once I apply it it’s sickeningly sweet, like I’ve had too much vanilla ice cream.

Of course it's subjective.
A wearer's personality, attire, attractiveness, etc... Regardless of gender or skin chemistry, will completely impact everyone's interpretation of a fragrance.
An obnoxious model, and charming librarian, wearing the same fragrance... Will NOT smell the same.

I get a lot of complements from men for the perfume I wear and that is Avon HAIKU in the bottle with the LIGHT GREEN cap. And a few women have liked it also. The men say, Umm you smell good or just say you smell good. It's a light sent.
I love Flowerbomb and I get so many compliments when I wear it.
My mom always wore the original Miss Dior years ago, it was so perfect. I used to love the original Diorella too

My boyfriend says glossier you smells like fish food LOL. So I gave it away to my sister because she loves it and I am personally not a huge fan of it. My boyfriend's favorites on me are baccarat rouge 540, oud satin mood, delina exclusif, cheriosa 62 by sol de janerio, ysl libre intense, gentle fluidity gold, lazy sunday morning, and lost cherry, and chanel chance eau tendre. I haven't ask him which one he absolutely loves, but those are the ones he always compliments whenever I wear them!

@@maalikfazal1406 It lasts forever! Very strong projection imo and it smells like the most delicious satin rose with some oud in it. the oud is not super heavy so I enjoy it. It's a little sweet and a little woody. I'm typically not a huge rose fan but the rose in this perfume is done beautifully! it's sultry and great for date night or a special event!

My collection is quite large but I must say that my most complimented perfumes are Lancome Hypnose, Armani Code and Coco Chanel Mademoiselle..I ALWAYS get stopped by men asking me what I'm wearing EVERYTIME I wear any one of these perfumes..They go bananas over these 3
Ho much of armani code do you spray? It's a beautiful scent but I'm wondering if I'm spraying enough since it doesn't have too strong of a projection

Lancome Hypnose one of my favorites 🥰
Hypnose by Lancôme is so GOOD! I’m surprised it’s not more popular on the internet. I find it so unique. It can be a bit too sweet but not the type that will give you a headache.

I’m surprised nobody said Billie Ellish’s first perfume that she came out with because not only my bf, but even my friends are addicted to that scent on me!
So pleased to see Hypnotic Poison high up on the list! I've worn it for almost 20 years now and have never tired of it.
I have not tried Hypnotic, but I love Dior's perfumes. I've been wearing Pure Poison since it came out in 2004.

CocoMadamoiselle is my scent. It's all I wear after being told so many times it smells great on me. It's just that it works with my body chemistry. I have tried other perfumes, but they don't work as well.

I’m surprised Burberry Her isn’t higher but it is a bit newer and not many have gotten on board with it. Every single time I wear it, at least one person tells me I smell good. I’m also really loving the new EDT, which smells nothing like the original, but it’s sooo lovely and perfect for Spring.
Does it smell berry/fruity or more floral? I know the top notes are berry but I’ve seen people say it leans more floral!

@@sldkfk7858 it doesn’t smell floral at all to me, it’s like a warm soft fruit, kinda marshmallowy in my opinion, I love it but I think it’s more for winter!

Ever try Annick Goutal perfumes? They’re interesting and only found in high end stores. Caron makes interesting scents as well.

@@keirfarnum6811 interesting you named Annick Goutal because I knew the CEO in 1998 or 2001? I had two tv beauty and fashion segments on CBS And Warner Bros. /Fox. He loved my tape on FRAGRANCE. They have beautiful Parfums and he said my show was so refreshing that no one in New York was doing a beauty and fashion tv segments like I was doing. I probably need to start my tv segments again but I am 65 and no one is still doing the kind of beauty segments I was weekly. I loved knowing Annette Green past president of The Fragrance Foundation in New York. I still stay in touch with them from time to time but if people really knew all about fragrance they would hold their Parfum like it is worth $50,000. So much to learn about top, heart, and bottom notes. It really lifts our spirits and in biblical scripture, it speaks a lot of verses on fragrance. I wear fragrance daily just me and my dog at home. As most of you know it’s a mood lifter and we just feel beautiful in fragrance. I love Fracas and I have Kalie Vanilla 28 which is really beautiful along with the Norell line Blushing and New York. I love reading these posts about fragrance and I believe many of you would enjoy The Fragrance Foundation. They just had their virtual awards for 2022 and it was amazing. I am not a Nest fragrance person but one of their new fragrances won an award and I had to have it GOLDEN NECTAR and it is delicious and you can get a tiny purse size spray bottle to start off with. It’s just a beautiful fragrance. Happiness to all. Victoria

I love Shalimar, Chanel no 5 and Coco Madamoiselle. I also use Liz Earle no 1. My favourite of all time was the original Kenzo, which is no longer available. So classy, natural ingredients and lasted for ever. I still have a few precious drops for special occasions. A glorious bottle too!

My partner really loves fresh florals on me and for date nights, and he loves balsamic/ ambery florals on me which are basically the 2 fragrance families I love.
I own a few of these but because I’m a nurse I rarely wear perfume. I use essential oils for pain, and well being, and when I get hugged I get huge compliments about how great I smell. A man I had just met last week hugged me and exclaimed, “I’m not letting you go because you smell great!”, lol, I was wearing a blend I make for neck and shoulder pain.
Lol! Essential oils are awesome and so much healthier than all the chemicals found in regular fragrances.

@@NurseGotGlow for a soft scent I wear the blend Joy from Young Living. Any fruity oils like lemon or orange is nice too.
@@x-starlight-x some of the oils I like for pain is cypress, peppermint, a blend from YL called aroma seize followed by lemongrass is a lifesaver on my broken knee (bone on bone)
So many food scents, not something I have ever wanted to smell like, but interesting to learn. Opium original, Gorgio, Cinnabar are a few of my husbands favorite scents on me. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

It also has to do with how one's body chemistry reacts to a scent. The 3 scents that men have complimented when I wore them are: Elixer of Love no. 1 (Caldwell Massey), Estee (Este Lauder), and Chantilly (don't remember the brand - it's very inexpensive).

Don’t forget about Tabu… and Shalimar… old faves from way back in my beautiful grandmothers day… I wear Addict ( dark blue)… also Chanel 19… and black opium…

Yes, I always loved Bonnie Bells " Skin " musk. It was always so clean smelling. A friend tried it and she smelled awful. Can't find that anymore. I always try to sample spray and after several hours if I don't have migraines, asthma issues, or stink like a can of Raid, I know I'm good.
My husband’s favorite fragrance on me, hands down, is Bull’s Blood by Imaginary Authors. Unfortunately it’s been discontinued, and that makes me so sad! 😩 I’m going to streeeeetch that bottle out.
Serge Lutens Arabie, Guerlain Encens Mythique D’Orient are also popular with my husband.

I managed to get 2 bottles but in Canada Dior actually recalled them and asked sellers to send them back to Dior!

I spent my 20’s & 30’s with headaches. I wore Opium, Poison and fragrances along this line. LOVED them however they’re probably the reason behind the massive headaches. In the last years I’ve gone back to fragrances I wore off and on my whole life but had shied away from. I get compliments everywhere I go when I wear Cinnabar. Every, all ages, ask if it’s perfume or oil. Just for kicks I ordered a bottle of Heaven Scent….we all wore it in jr high and part of high school. It was very close to what I remembered…lots of fun memories.
Wondering do you know why they gave you headaches ???
Try checking if any that give you headaches have patchouli. A lady at Lancome told me that patchouli is a common headache causing ingredient. Once I started avoiding perfumes with that in them my headaches from perfume stopped!
Loved Cinnabar and Opium… poison also… Heaven Scent made me nauseous…
Heaven Sent will always be my favorite perfume.
@@micpay if they are to strong, heavy pungent they will give you a headache. My mother never wears perfume it makes her feel ill.

My boyfriend’s favorite is Si Fiori! I personally don’t like the original Si but I gave the Fiori a try and he’s obsessed with it!
My boyfriend and I went to Texas and stayed with his best friend and wife. She was always wearing this perfume and it reminded me of Flowerbomb, so one night, as we were preparing to go out for dinner, I asked her if she was wearing Flowerbomb and that it smelled good on her and she goes no, she disappeared and came back with a bottle of that Brazillian Crush 62 and I'd never seen or heard of it before. She asked if I wanted to spray some one, and I said no thank you, I had already put some of my cologne on. It smelled good, but, it reminded me a LOT of Flowerbomb. I did look them up on the internet and I'm interested in trying their other scents they have.
My current favorits are Chanel Coco mademoiselles intense and Elizabeth Arden White Tea. I would wear Chanel at night and Elizabeth by day.

My husband typically prefers fresh and floral scents on me, but he does love several of the ones you mentioned… Flowerbomb, Rolling In Love, Sol Cheirosa, Si Fiori, Donna Born In Roma, Coco Mademoiselle, Delina, and BR540. The fragrance he goes crazy for everytime I wear it is actually Bath & Body Works Gingham… go figure 😂

Thanks for uploading! You obviously have the right palette regarding perfumes. Mine is and always will be Alchemie by Rochas. It is discontinued for a very long time (maybe 10/15years). I miss it every day. ... it was magic in a bottle. This perfume is in my head and I compare every new one with this one. Till today I have not found anything that comes remotely close. If you have a recommendation... please feel free to let me know... because I am still searching.
I know it's discontinued, but I get so many compliments from men specifically on Alien Essence Absolue. Wish they'd bring it back.
The common thread in most of these is the vanilla, which is what men love most.
My husband loves Pink Sugar on me!! I could have the most expensive perfume..and he loves this one the most.
I feel that age also plays a huge role in what the man will like. I'm 30 and noticed that the 30+ crowd of guys love stuff like light blue, viva la juicy, and VS love spell. Clean/sweet scents popular in the 2000s lol. Fantasy by britney spears and pink sugar of course are huge with them.
Men of all ages love when I wear Fracas ! If you want a similar scent to it but can't afford a full bottle just buy coty sand & sable. It is very similar to Fracas especially to an untrained nose. Everyone esp males love Shalimar EDT, Poison girl EDP and Gaultier Classique EDP on me
Michael Kors original is just like Sand & Sable, only better! Love it. I am looking for a new signature fragrance...

Love those sweet tuberose heavy white florals, Paul Sebastian Design is a beautiful animalic tuberose scent and can be had for 20USD or less. It used to be a higher end fragrance and the quality is still fantastic! It's a very interesting white floral

For some reason, and I can’t put my finger on it, Personally I hate Chanel N°5, I’ve seen so many people love that one, but it’s my least favorite fragrance I’ve ever had or smelled. I literally dumped the bottle down the drain because I couldn’t even stand the smell even tho it was closed.

My men have always preferred Tresjour, and Idole by Lancome. Most of your top 20 I find nauseating....I detest anything vanilla or spicey smelling on any one.
My boyfriend doesn't like most well known fragrances but he loves lancome jasmine marzipan, bal D'afrique And my bed time scent Skin reserve Skin scent

I have quite a few perfumes ranging from high end to body spray. By far my husbands favorite is the original Paris Hilton 😂 he mentions how good I smell every time I use it. Most others get a “it’s nice.”
I have some favorites that include the original Black Orchid, YSL Mon Paris Couture, Marc Jacobs Decadence EPD, Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle EPD and Cartier Blaise’s Voile (sp?). My husband tells me that the Lancôme fragrance is seductive and captivates him!! Lol! I always get compliments when I wear it from both men and women. I also adore wearing Tom Ford’s Black Orchid and Velvet Orchid. Black Orchid is not for the faint of heart. It’s extremely captivating and more powerful than the others in my opinion. Definitely more a fall and winter fragrance. A light mist will be enough for a couple of days, frankly. One day while wearing Black Orchid I had a man following me in the mall for awhile. I finally turned around and asked him why he was doing so. He said it the fragrance (the Black Orchid) and then he sheepishly asked me what it was so he could pick it up for his wife. Lol!! Years ago, I wore Carolina Herrera and had men asking me what it was as well. The Lancôme fragrance always wears so beautifully so it’s become a signature scent for me in recent years.

My perfume used to be Chantilly. Men loved it. LOVED IT!!! But now that it's "Chantilly by Dana" it doesn't smell the same. It used to be a bit sweet but subtle. Now it smells musky, a smell I don't care for.
