Its elegant, clean, inviting. Major compliment getter from men. Not only do I spray it on myself, but on my bedding, coats, and clothing. Such a luxurious scent that is not 'perfumy.' I'll never understand why it is so underrated and under promoted. Thank you for the list, these are my kind of perfumes! Inoffensive to others, and incredibly inviting.

I own 5 of these but Missing Person is my favorite in this category. I have never been able to explain the feeling I get when I wear this, but it reminds me of my late husbands hugs. It does not smell like him, but gives me that same comfort. Chanel 1957 is great too but I probably will not repurchase as I cannot justify the cost for a scent that sits so close to my skin that no one else can smell it
I love Kay Ali musk, Missing Person and Matcha 26 LeLabo. Matcha 26 is like the fresher version of Gris Charnel with a matcha undertone. A warm hug in a bottle!🍵💚

Fleur de Peau is my #1 most loved perfume to date. Elixir de Musc is highly underrated. Poudre d’OR is creamy and divine and I agree that it’s best suited for cooler weather because she packs a punch! I can’t wait to get my hands on a sample of Capeline. ❤
This was the best surprise today. I’ve been on a fragrance journey lately, and after sampling many of your recommendations, I’ve discovered I’m drawn to musks. Currently obsessed with NR Musc Noir. Love the juicy plum in that one and got a full bottle for Christmas. Chanel 1957 is on my wish list - I find it addicting. It’s fresh, comforting and elegant all at the same time. You can tell I am obsessed because I recognized Narciso Rodriguez solely on your description !! Beautiful beautiful musks, not overpowering but they last 8 hours easily. Pure Musc has this added note of lemon blossom that boosts your mood instantly :) I do use Fleur musc for layering, like for example with Aura by Mugler that is way too "one note" for my liking. So I will most definitely try your mix as well! The Narciso Eau de parfum poudree goes hard on the powdery side while retaining the musk signature of the house, I highly recommend it ! - I am sadly not affiliated nor payed by Narciso Rodriguez for this comment XD

I love Mizensir Musc Eternel (very powdery) and will try Elixir de Musc and Poudre d'Or since i love the elegant touch of A. Morillas. You need a Pierre Guillaume on your list! I love Le Musc et La Peau out of the shower and Molton Brown's Milk Musk before bed. surprisingly there's something about Matiere Premiere's oeuvre that just doesn't sit well on me...1957 is on my Spring list to try...right now I'm loving my last drops of Tonka Imperiale and Bois D'Armenie...can't wait to see your fun perfume/fashion combos in Spring; i often have the same shorts and tops from Zara in my drawer!!!

Great video as always Josephine! I was convinced for long time that musks and iris cannot really be my ideal notes. I recently got to smell a tester of Platinum by Floris, probably the only niche that I smelled so far, and I completely changed my mind :D There is that vintage-powdery feeling to it, but I couldn't stop smelling my wrist while wearing it. I hope my discovery journey into niches will continue after this.
Floris Cefiro: If you like lime! When you squeeze a lime wedge & you just have to smell your fingers because the lime scent lingers. Cefiro, fresh, clean, limey. 😊
@@embeth446 yes, I also own Tardes. Both beautiful almondy scents but very different in my opinion. For me Tardes has that freshness and slight metallic not while Florentina is really powdery and cocooning. I'd say if you like Tardes, Florentina should be up your alley too. On the Sylvaine Delacourte website you can also order sample sets of their different lines. I reckon both the vanilla and musc line are worth checking out (they also have an orange blossom one, I just don't fancy that note)

Missing Person smells good, but really is a lighter alcohol-based version of Egyptian Musk oil. I was really surprised that it got so popular when Egyptian musk type oils are readily available, cheap, and a fair bit stronger than Missing Person in my opinion. I wore Egyptian goddess and Kuumba made egyptian musk oils all throughout college for that my-skin-but-better effect.

I’ve been trying to find perfume for warmer weather like 30c with high humidity. I tried Prada La Femme and Chanel Chance EDP & it doesn’t seem to have the same vibe as when I used in cooler weather. I have BDK Pas Ce Soir, Chanel Gabrielle Essence, Byredo Bal d’afrique & Florabotanica. I’m keen to try those one. Can you also please recommend some other good ones? Thanks. 😊
I agree, Chanel Chance EDP is too rich for hot, humid weather. Maybe try Chanel Chance eau tendre, the pink one. It smells quite different, but is very clean and musky and floral. I prefer it for hot temperatures.
The Body Shop - White Musk has been reformulated and it smells nothing like the old version. It was my go to fragrance after the gym and the new one is just awful :( (and no new edt version, at least in my country). Te Juliette one on me smells the same as glossier you for some reason. Had my freinds smell it on me and they also say the same thing.
Glossier You, I've tried several times while in Sephora (it's a crying shame you can no longer get a sample to take home 😢) and I usually love 'molecule' fragrences (JHAG, Commodity Paper, etc) but G " YOU" just is confusing to me. I don't get it. It smells neither clean, powdery nor nostalgic, and the notes just don't meld together? I realize skin chemistry has a lot to do with how pheremone-type perfumes smell on each person, but sadly, not for me 😢 I do love a super powdery, fresh and feminine fragrance and I have been really loving Chanel Paris-Venise. Prada Infusion D Iris isn't what I'd call powdery, but it's definitely clean girl vibes and can be layered with just about anything! I'm definitely on the hunt for makeup-type iris vibes. It's definitely a nostalgic scent for me!❤

I signed up for Scentbox and I’m loving it so far. One of my first scents was Musk Therapy by Initio. I love musk but it’s not my favorite. Slightly too creamy and mature but the drydown is nice. I’m really enjoying Wulong Cha by Nishane. It gives me tea and clean laundry vibes. My favorite musk of all time was Narciso Rodriguez Musc Intense in the pinkish black bottle. It was heavenly but they don’t make it anymore.

So I don’t like the opening of this scent at all. It’s quite off putting but then the drydown is a different story. I sprayed it on the back of my hand one day and couldn’t stop smelling it! The dry down is beautiful 🥰
Another beautiful fragrance in this category is Starck Peau de Soie. It's so lovely. I recommend checking it out if you haven't gotten your nose on it yet. 😊 Houbigant Iris des Champs is another great one.

By fragrances today standards which ones truly last the longest and projects the best
After sampling and trying decants, I learned that I gravitate towards powdery, musky & clean scents - day or night, all seasons :)
Missing Person smells good, but really is a lighter alcohol-based version of Egyptian Musk oil. I was really surprised that it got so popular when Egyptian musk type oils are readily available, cheap, and a fair bit stronger than Missing Person in my opinion. I wore Egyptian goddess and Kuumba made egyptian musk oils all throughout college for that my-skin-but-better effect.
I love your videos as they have taken me by the hand on a journey into scents discovery. I’ve been using your recommendations as a list for finding samples.

I recently bought Fleur the Peau for the first time because Orphéon was sold out and I watched you speak about it in a previous video. Very happy with it but I do like the sharpness of the opening from Orphéon. Both of them are in my top 5. Do you have any other recommendations based on these two that can be worn by a guy?

I am having trouble with equating "MUSKY" to "Clean and Powdery"?
I struggle with that a bit too. Like glossier you and NR pure musc I find to be musky but not what I would call powdery at all.
Atelier Cologne’s Santal de Carmin is my fav sandalwood musk! M&S just brought out a very good dupe but its nowhere near as long lasting.
I dont get the parisian musc unfortunately.. wanted to love it, but on me it smells really sharp and woody, not creamy at all, only afters it’s been on my skin for 5 hours I get the fig and the vibe you are talking about 😢
I’ve been trying to find perfume for warmer weather like 30c with high humidity. I tried Prada La Femme and Chanel Chance EDP & it doesn’t seem to have the same vibe as when I used in cooler weather. I have BDK Pas Ce Soir, Chanel Gabrielle Essence, Byredo Bal d’afrique & Florabotanica. I’m keen to try those one. Can you also please recommend some other good ones? Thanks. 😊
I agree, Chanel Chance EDP is too rich for hot, humid weather. Maybe try Chanel Chance eau tendre, the pink one. It smells quite different, but is very clean and musky and floral. I prefer it for hot temperatures.

The Body Shop - White Musk has been reformulated and it smells nothing like the old version. It was my go to fragrance after the gym and the new one is just awful :( (and no new edt version, at least in my country). Te Juliette one on me smells the same as glossier you for some reason. Had my freinds smell it on me and they also say the same thing.

Glossier You, I've tried several times while in Sephora (it's a crying shame you can no longer get a sample to take home 😢) and I usually love 'molecule' fragrences (JHAG, Commodity Paper, etc) but G " YOU" just is confusing to me. I don't get it. It smells neither clean, powdery nor nostalgic, and the notes just don't meld together? I realize skin chemistry has a lot to do with how pheremone-type perfumes smell on each person, but sadly, not for me 😢 I do love a super powdery, fresh and feminine fragrance and I have been really loving Chanel Paris-Venise. Prada Infusion D Iris isn't what I'd call powdery, but it's definitely clean girl vibes and can be layered with just about anything! I'm definitely on the hunt for makeup-type iris vibes. It's definitely a nostalgic scent for me!❤

Josephine, you are linking “pure Musc for her” on your videos but from your bottle it appears you own the Absolue version which is slightly different with yellow flowers I believe. Have you compared them? I’m curious how different they are.

I just got Parisian Musc by Matiere Premiere and although I don't dislike the opening, the drydown is more of what I was searching for in a new perfume. Do you know any good perfume that smells like PM's drydown? Fig, woody, creamy, skin scent like?

I signed up for Scentbox and I’m loving it so far. One of my first scents was Musk Therapy by Initio. I love musk but it’s not my favorite. Slightly too creamy and mature but the drydown is nice. I’m really enjoying Wulong Cha by Nishane. It gives me tea and clean laundry vibes. My favorite musk of all time was Narciso Rodriguez Musc Intense in the pinkish black bottle. It was heavenly but they don’t make it anymore.

Try Signature by Montblanc if you don’t want to splurge on the Musk Therapy, has this similar clean girl vibe.

So I don’t like the opening of this scent at all. It’s quite off putting but then the drydown is a different story. I sprayed it on the back of my hand one day and couldn’t stop smelling it! The dry down is beautiful 🥰

Another beautiful fragrance in this category is Starck Peau de Soie. It's so lovely. I recommend checking it out if you haven't gotten your nose on it yet. 😊 Houbigant Iris des Champs is another great one.

Fleur de peau is the most powdery out of them all!
