This video proves that anything that becomes super popular gets a lot of hate.
Crazy right?!
People like to be (or think they are) different and unique.
@@unrulyjulie4382 or they think that they have to change everything regularly to stay up to date with everything and be trendy
I actually hated angel when I smelled it the first time. I blind bought it and thought it was so offensive 😂 But I kept coming back to it and spritzing a tiny bit here and there and I started to really enjoy it. Im wearing it right now. Lol
Yes!
I love that you gave the alternatives. I love ALIEN and often I find people hate it on youtube. Personally it's my signature and gets me tons of compliments every time. Great video thank you ♥
Now i know where Anna Bey got the inspiration of her latest video from! Am grateful that RUclips recommended me your channel!
Love don’t be shy is so addicting, the orange blossom note is divine 😍 I’m also heartbroken about Black Orchid, I think it’s so stunning
I love Black Orchid, especially during winter. The first moments always remind me of stepping into the tropical greenhouse after a stroll in the cold crisp air of the botanical gardens.
Me too! Adore DBShy and Black Orchid is one of my most beloved signature scents for 12 years-perfect for fall/winter! Tom Ford is brilliant!
Let’s be honest, Sauvage started getting hate when it became popular. Now that it became the #1 selling cologne (hence the average Joe) RUclips reviewers started bashing it. I remember when everyone had Sauvage and Creed Aventus as the best colognes. I also understand it, because when my father started wearing it, I knew it’s become time to stick it in the back of my collection. 🤣 Love your videos. Keep up the great work. ❤️
I think with Sauvage it goes further than contrarianism against a popular frag. It has a crudeness in its blast furnace of laundry detergent-like ambroxen.
Now, the other one, Aventus, is a good example of a frag suffering from contrarianism due to popularity, i.e. dying of success. Aventus is far more nuanced and sophisticated than Sauvage imo.
@@JT-rx1eo Sauvage became popular because of Johnny Depp. He is very sexy. The fragrance is not.
@@monogtraetregmen If so, the problem is not being honest and criticizing a fragrance itself because one doesn't like the brand company. It's no doubt why Luca Turin rated Davidoff Cool Water higher than Creed Green Irish Tweed. He lost my respect with that.
But be that as it may, I just think there are frag people who feel self-satisfied in downplaying Aventus or Creed in general. Some of those people are frag enthusiasts who aren't that far into their frag journey - maybe months to a year or so - and have discovered that criticizing the uber-popular Aventus or Creed itself increases their bonafides or sense of their own sophistication. Then there are very experienced FragSnobs who seem to criticize Creed because it's not challenging or "artistic" (read "too mass pleasing") enough (looking at you, Persolaise). Now, that's not to dismiss criticism. It's all subjective of course. I don't like Aventus' drydown that much. It's not in my top 10. Top 20, but not top 10.
@@monogtraetregmen Well I have to vehemently disagree with you on all that. Creed's ingredients are NOT cheap, as confirmed by the perfumers interviewed for the book The Ghost perfumer. Including Pierre Bourdon and Jean-Christophe Herault. Lol. Another interesting thing the author discovered in speaking to those ghost perfumers and others in the industry in Europe is that many regard Olivier Creed as maybe having been the best scent evaluator in the world for the last half century! Even if they criticize him for other reasons. I assume you'll find a reason to disagree with that assessment? And lots of brands charge too much money. That's lux economics. But if you're paying $400 for a Creed fragrance you aren't doing it right. Its OK if you don't like Creed for whatever reason, but the point about posturing and Creed criticism is valid. Persolaise is a good example of this in my opinion. It became so bad I unsubscribed from his channel. Really fingernails-on-the-blackboard stuff. "Creed is cheap". 😂. They could improve their boxing imo, but big deal. Does the success of Aventus, and Green Irish Tweed, or any of their other fragrances really bother you that much? Lol.
Oowweee!! Daddy said he wanted to smell good too! Let your dad live a little! 😆😜👍🏽🔥
I love how you don't just list the hated perfumes, but present great alternatives! ♥️
Not every fragrance has to be mind-blowing.
Agree. The simpler the concept, the more difficult the execution I often find.
So true .. sometimes you just wanna smell clean and light.
I love thussardi my name so much because it is so ..... well clean is the right word!
And i love bombastic fragrance, but like you said, not for all the time!
So much agreed. One of my favorites is single note gardenia.
I like Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel, both smell like masculine men 😄 Different type of men, but masculine nonetheless.
Angel is like - "like me, hey hey, do you like me, why don't you like me, c'mon heeyy" and I'm imagining this star running after me yelling this 🤣
Leave me alone!!! 😂
I was already imagining it while reading, the Angel star chasing you around the room like “pick me!!!”🤣🤣🤣best description of angel everr!you should start a channel😃😄😄
@@DKisir hahahaha thanks! 😄
Hahaha totally spot on with Angel 🤣🤣🤣
Angel is the strongest longest lasting perfume I've ever used. I've been wearing it for over 20 years. I've found that it needs two things 1) you only need the tiniest spritz of it because it's so strong and 2) it needs to be cold outside. If it's even a little bit warm, it smells awful. But on a cold winter day the smallest spritz of Angel smells so comforting and yummy. I'll always get compliments when I wear it like that.
I feel the same about Alien!!! On a colder day, it smells so fresh
@@danijelaleksi7130 Alien is my go to summer parfume 😆
@@ursamajor6347 Literally. Angel is the kind of perfume that is loved by pretty much anyone who does not care about perfumes - even if they dont know what it is, cuz you just smell like a super rich caramel-vanilla praline. It smells like a fantasy desert you want to eat right now.
There has not been a single time I have not been complimented on my scent when I wore it.
I usually prefer lightly spraying it on my hair, scarf, maybe wrist not too much skin contact. I feel like thats when it can get a bit overbearing. Its one of those scents that should not mix with sweat/body heat.
A lot of those more sophisticated perfumes are cool for perfume fans - got a few favs aswell - but if you want a date to think "Wow, what a nice alluring smell", those suede kardamon bitter spicy perfums are not the way to go.
Mugler Fan forever, not sorry about it.
I love Alien, but Angel always smells like Carmex to me and I don’t know why! I want to smell what everyone else smells. Does it smell like Carmex to anyone else? Like a mix of menthol and beeswax.
I love Angel! It’s so unique; there’s nothing else out there that smells anything like it! I can’t stand the plasticky smell in Alien but in Angel it is intoxicating.
She did not mention the intense floral element of Angel. The Jasmine is what I really love in Angel and I’m a guy. I’ve been sampling this but I may buy a bottle
I feel the exact opposite about Alien and Angel. It's so weird how different people experience scents.
@ Desi I find that TF Bitter Peach smells a lot like Angel but doesn’t even have half of the longevity that Angel has.
What? I have Angel and I can't stand it. It has been sitting on the shelf for afew years , I think it's time to toss it out. Others that I will be letting go are chanel no.5, Samsara, and kenzo flower, their smell literally make me sick.
@@aliciafields-worldtravelle8248 I smell great in Angel
My sister was wearing La vie est belle and I found it very appealing. Fell in love with it. I'm on my second bottle and a backup as well.
I'm a little bothered with all the hate on La Vie Est Belle. How much of this fragrance are people spraying on themselves? I will spray a mist of it, walk through it, and get endless compliments. I can imagine if I sprayed this directly on my skin--especially more than once--I, too, would get a headache. But maybe people shouldn't do that. Some of these hated fragrances simply need to be used more lightly.
I LOVE LVEB. But you’re right, it needs to be used minimally for maximum effect
I just don't like it even if it's lightly applied.
LVEB is my favorite and I have a 200 ml of it. The bottle is obnoxiously big 😅.
“But maybe people shouldn’t do that” 😂 that part! Too much of any perfume is gonna be a problem. Hot take: I’ll wear LVEB before I would everrrr wear Coco Mademoiselle.
@@itslikekahlua Definitely true. But some need to be "handled with care" more than others. I think La Vie Est Belle falls into that category.
Honestly, I think dudes wear Dior Sauvage for each other lol
The fragrance "Sauvage" will forever remain my favorite among men's perfumes, it is unusual, high-quality, sillage and has an economical consumption due to its rich and high-quality pyramid.
I love it too
Your joking? Unusual? Seems like the old school after shave too me. Which is okay but it gives me a headache and I think it’s kinda offensive.
I never liked Coco Mademoiselle, for me it smells like a cheap soapy perfume. I love simple clean perfumes, but I guess this one is not for me. p.s : I love a lot of Chanel perfumes
I feel the same but I absolute love the mademoiselle intense. It is just so much richer and a little more masculine. Absolutely fell in love with it
Yes I agree! I knew it was not for me when I smelled it.
Happy to see someone has reviewed Good Girl by Carolina Herrera. I layer the original GG with GG legere, and it is wonderful. I started wearing this a couple of years ago. My go to fragrance for Years, has been Hani More Butterfly, or Versace Bright Crystal. Prior I was a Chloe lover, but became bored with it. Just a question? As a teen, I remember my mom wearing Diorissimo. I fell in love with it, and would "sneak" a bit when she wasn't around. Is it still available? And if so, is the formula the same. Thanks, great video.
With the exception of Chanel number five, which I adore, all of the other fragrances are on my most hated list as well.
same here
Me too ;D
I just started using Bacarat Rouge and I like the sweet gourmand fragrance but it’s not meant for everyday wear, but is a very sophisticated and sexy fragrance
Alien is my absolute favourite perfume. I’ve had people compliment me on it and ask what it is, and when I’d tell them they’d be shocked that it smelled so good, because they hated it on themselves. It’s interesting how our own body chemicals and scents can alter those scents!
Same for me with Angel. Someone else mentioned that it smells way better when it is cold, which might be why it smells good on me, since my hands are always ice cold and my body in general isn’t very warm, so it doesn’t heat it up too much. Some people also rub their wrists vigorously when applying perfume and I think that totally destroys Angel, since it overheats.
I’ve started to fall out of love with the fragrance recently and I also felt it started to not last as long on me anymore either, but it might be because of the hot summer temperatures we had lately. I really hope I fall back in love with it when the temperatures drop again, since it was the very first fragrance that totally captivated me.
What a great video idea! I love that you also provide alternatives, that is actually more than I expected😇 I didn't know Alien was controversive😅 I love it. But what shocked me was that Black Orchid was mentioned several times😪😟 it is sooo wonderul to my nose. But that is the beauty of parfumes, they are personal experience, right? 😊 I can't stand Hypnotic Poison (maybe my younger self had to deal with it too often) and know that it is loved by so many...
Great Work, Josephine! Thank you 💛
I was surprised with the results too! Super fun experiment though, and shows how subjective fragrance is. Wishing you a great week ❤️
I loved Black Orchid, but after a few months I started to get strong headaches when wearing it.
Dior Sauvage smells ordinary. Bleu de Chanel EDP is a masterpiece.
I like my car to smell like Sauvage 😅😍
Parfum is even better.
either Sauvage or Bleu is good for me... too generic
Your thinking from a fragrance enthusiast mind set. Most the population doesn't notice or care.
Allure pour homme is even better, classy 😍
Another hit Josephine, quite a high level content you have been uploading 👏🏼
Love the options you proposed.
How can anyone hate black orchid or Sauvage? That’s like hating a hot tub and a massage.
Hahaha 😂😂😂
I can’t stand black truffle or any mushrooms in any form, I even have a food sensitivity to them. Orchid is another difficult note for me, but I appreciate the artistry of Black Orchid none the less.
I've never bothered to smell Sausage, but I went to Sephora yesterday, and sprayed myself with Black Orchid. I am in love. It's amazing! I could stop smelling myself. I woke up in the middle of the night to sniff my wrists. I can't get over it. Astoundingly gorgeous 😍
I went to the store just before Mother’s Day to check out the hype on black orchid (because the way people were talking about it it was almost a blind buy). I wanted to get it for my aunt who loves floral, sweet but soft scents. In my opinion you can very much smell that black orchid. It is so strong I couldn’t even smell anything else in it…and it took a while to get the scent out of my nose. It’s like I stuck my nose in the flower lol, but it’s a very authentic and original fragrance I’d say. I’d def agree about Sauvage tho, I was so glad when I found out my boyfriend had the cologne, smells so good on him. The bergamot and nutmeg is great.
Rouge Malachite is a masterpiece. 🔥🔥🔥
I will always love Angel although I don’t wear it much nowadays. It was my signature scent when I was young, wearing all day all year.
Tom Ford fragrances really seem to ding my bell. I want to marry Lost Cherry, move to Utah and then marry Black Orchid as well. All of our children would be every Mugler scent made to date. I would have a dog and a cat and a snake, I would name them all Jo.
I didn't like BR 540 at first but the more I wear it, the more I love it.
I love this video!! Please make it a series.. ♥️
Merci boucoup😀
I find Flower Bomb SO bitter, zero sweet at all, on my skin and have never tried Le Vie est Belle so you kinda just sold that one to me ahha. Flower Bomb smells like an ash tray to me, I don't understand the notes on that one at all, or how people perceive it!
I got the worst reaction when i visited my mother and was wearing BR540. She told me i smelled like a hospital and never wear that near her again 😂. Now i know she isn't alone in that sentiment.
Unfortunately I don’t like it either; makes me sick and I actually feel like I need to be in a hospital when I smell it in case I pass out LOL.
Oh no! Yep you’re definitely not alone
540 is obviously one of the best scents of the last 10 years.
LOL😂
My mum said that too! Then she smelled again in winter, I gave her a sample, she tried it a couple of times and then... She bought it. That's how strange this perfume is!
I think people forget that fragrances wear different on every body. Our own natural scents blend with it. Case in point: Black Opium’s floral shows up more for me in the initial stages, then the vanilla, and followed by the coffee in the back ground. The coffee shows up more when it dries down on me.
Wow, I've never thought of La Vie Est Belle as "sweet". I've tried and tried to like it bc someone bought me a 100ml bottle of it, and I agree, it's a long-lasting smell. However, the ONLY thing I can think of when I wear it, is that it smells like an "old lady" smell! I can't stop recognizing that fragrance as that and I won't change my mind anytime soon. Why do so many love it, IDK, but it's not for me!
I agree, I never classify it as sweet! Idk what it smells like though lol. I blind bought it with it being like 70% off. I don’t love it on it’s owns for the similar reasons, but I do like it for layering! I am surprised how hyped the fragrance it is, out of all the ones out there!
I totally get that. My son asked me if grandma had been in my car when I wore that. Same with CCM. 😂
People love it so much. I have gotten so many compliments when I wore it. My mother owns it. Also black opium is another one almost everyone loves.
@@itslikekahlua I've got less than a half a bottle left of my La Vie Est Belle and I've literally had it for over 3 yrs now and idk if I'll ever use the rest of it or just give it away. However, last month, I've ironically purchased the newer flanker "Oui La Vie est Belle Lancôme" bc I thought it smelled less "old lady" and more simple, pretty with the same lasting power as the original. As well as, the "La Vie est Belle L’Éclat" bc the perfumer at Dillard's store informed me that this flanker was being discontinued. So, me being me, I am a sucker for a collectible item and I happened to purchase the very last one she had in her stock and thank goodness, it was the 100ml bottle!
@@babe8917 I don't own any of the Opium flankers or Black Opium but, I've smelt it many times in the store and have been tempted to purchase it. However, I always seem to go for others instead. If someone gifted it to me, of course, I would wear it bc I think it's a good smelling fragrance. I also found Valentino Donna Noir to be similar to that and it smells sensual, lasting, and perhaps a great smell to wear on a breezy early summer night to a late dinner w/ someone.
One man’s meat is another’s poison. 😅 90% of the time, I’m not impressed with those highly rated crowd-pleasers and am baffled why people love them.
Oh I laughed my head off watching this! :D Soooo much fun. Even if someone positively savages something I like, if they can make me laugh whilst doing so, then I get a real kick out of it. As you've often said, it's just fragrance. And it's all subjective. I still laugh to think of those signs put up outside restaurants in the 1980s: "No Giorgio." HAHAHAA! I agreed with almost every one of your alternative suggestions and you described everything soooooo well. Excellent video, wow.
Yes, Bleu de Chanel edp smells way better than Sauvage!
I FREAKING ADORE Black Orchid, with such passion!!
And me
I love velvet orchid
To me it smells like nausea, it's the only perfume I've smelled that immediately made me go NOPE.
Baccarat Rouge and it's clones are unbearable for me. I just breathe through my mouth around people wearing it.
When I first realise people hate something I love: 🥺😱😡
Then I realise: that’s fine - MORE FOR ME 😌
They say that gringos suffer from bad taste,,, and this woman has terrible taste. Sauvage Dior is exquisite, elegant, classy, you smell like a rich man, who has money, it's the best in perfume, not what you recommend, you have very bad taste.
I love Coco Mademoiselle that’s my favorite. I agree with all of these perfumes. I would like to add CK Obsession to the list. It’s awful. Black Orchid reminds me of Burberry Black, which I prefer over TF Black Orchid.
That one smells like old lady
@@LEA-yr7bb To some ,perhaps. However, am an old lady, therefore it works fine for me. I cannot begin to tell you how many people compliment me on my perfume when I wear it. When I wear any other more contemporary fragrances I get nothing. I put that one on, and I get loads of compliments.
Fragrance perference is subjective, of course, but I have to agree with you on Opium.
Hahah love your descriptions...some of these are quite cloying
Indeed!
@@jusderose the aletarnatives most have a nice dry down
I’m always confused when people speak of angel by mugler (online) because what people smell, to me angel smells like these 3 things, super powdery, moth balls, old people smell 😂 it’s strange and the smell never changes, from smelling it in the bottle to spraying it on me and after hours the same smell and intensity
Hi Josephine, this video is such a good idea 💡Can’t wait to watch 😍
Thank you beautiful ❤️
@@jusderose 💖
@@jusderose You are welcome💫
I've been told once that blonde women tend to love floral, light scents and brunette women prefer darker, richer perfumes. So I'm not surprised that instagram is hating on gourmand perfumes.
Lmao! Yup.
I’m a redhead and prefer watery, Icy, outdoor scents. Wonder if that’s a thing for redheads 🤔 I greatly dislike sweet scents personally.
I'm a brunette with hazel eyes. I love floral scents and sweet scents I don't like dark or intense scents at all
I am a natural dark blond, I color my hair red. I like scents that are all over the place. I hate sweet scents/gourmands. It also matters how it smells on my skin.
In my opinion something that smells like Alien without the plastic metallic vibe is Olympea. It has that creamy jasmine in it, but the metallic feel is replaced with salt.
First Black Opium, still I'm shock 😱🤣 good alternatives but but I mean come on. Then Alien 😱 two of my absolute favourites. And I love coco m and chanel no 5 too 🙄 I think my tastes are obviously towards the "controversial". Great video mate how boring would it be if we all loved the same things
Haha yeah your beloved Black Opium got roasted... not my words!
@@jusderose I know 🤣 I'm just too "niche" that's all it is 😉
I love LVEB and Angel, but only wear it SOMETIMES on very cold winter days. I totally get what you mean by being too too much. This is exactly why I can only wear it in the right mood, and they can’t be everyday fragrances. 😆
Edit: I wish I could smell baccarat rouge. I don’t hate it or like it as I really can’t smell it after the first spray! I’m unlucky like that with ambroxan. 😭
I also have never gotten too many compliments when I wear BR. I find it’s better to layer as it is quite unisex and can help ground a more floral airy frag.
Also I get horrific headaches with Delina from PDM. Gave my bottle away.
First time I see someone disliking Delina. Finally! 😂
I tried Delina Exclusiff and it smells like gasoline over my skin, absolutely disgusting
@@ilovesunsets I hate it too, it smells so weird to me!
@@piscesgirl99 yup! Weird and cloying 🤢
But I like it on others 🤷🏼♀️
As an alternative to black orchid try trussardi behind the curtain, they have similar vibes but the trussardi is just waaay way better
Thanks for the recommendation!
BR 540 smells like sea water to me 🤢 I cannot stand of it! And I smell it everywhere 😩
I love love love Burberry her 😍 and LVEB!
I still love Tom Ford black orchid but i prefer the gold one 💛🖤
Sauvage is oke but try the exiler of it! That one is amazing 💙
I just bought Jardin sur la lagune and I have to thank you this fragrance is magnificent its true that is salty but at the same time is delicate not to strong and I want to bath in it 😂😂
It’s a favorite of mine too!
@@cristinamunck its soooo good💖
Aw yay so happy you like it too 🥰
Dior Savage has to be one of my most disliked perfume for Men, it smells very basic 😅 Love the alternatives given apart from Akro, it didn't work for me but I can see other people liking it and how can anyone not love Alien🤭 to be fair I disliked it initially! BR540 is one of best perfume created period✨Love you love your videos amazing ❤
Let’s be honest 90% of Dior fragrances ( male, female, unisex) smell generic these days…they ruined and butchered every single one (Miss Dior would be the perfect example ) or discontinued all the good ones the like of Midnight Poison or Feve Deliceuse etc
This answered my question on Angel. My sister wears angel and I love it on her, but when I tried it on me…hated it. My signature sent is coco mademoiselle and on weekends I like mon guerlain. I had no idea there were in same “family”. I don’t know anything about perfume, I just go with what I like. I also tried the baccarat rouge 540 due to the hype and could not stand it.
At this moment ive started my niche fragrance collection when i first got ysl black opium and coco mademoisle and love both ive got a elegant seductive style the same way for wardobe and design asthetics the oppinion here is neutral and great sugestions on what can i get next as a reward/treat
Tom Ford has people wondering why anyone would want to smell like that esp ombre leather
Haha but love how controversial he is!
@@jusderose Do you remember his designs for Gucci in the late 1990s?! Holy smokes. Leather trousers-- not the rock'n'roll YSL Hedi Slimane style ones from the early 2000's-- but schlumpy straight, slightly wide legged ones cropped mid-shin and then, wait for it, fringed with REAL furry animal tails. He made HORRIBLE clothing, really tacky Paris Hilton-style gear when he was at Gucci during that period. People very generously, kindly forget about all that. His PR have done a spectacular job with his brand image. Worth every penny.
No. 5, uck, I have always been confused at to its popularity. Great video!!!
Reading the comments it just shows that we are all different it's our genetics.
La vie est belle was so popular where I live, I have always hated it and couldn't believe the sales.
Prive Rouge Malachite Eau de Parfum, save them hard earned coins and don’t buy it- I feel is a overrated tubarose scent that don’t leave a lasting impression nor projection … plus if you don’t like you can’t return to Neiman Marcus. …. Otherwise, I like this video 👍🏾
Alien is my favorit 😮 I didn't know if anyone hate it. But I agree about Baccarat Rough 540, I've tried to like it since people talked it a lot, but its not for me 🙏
I’ve been told that BR 540 smells like “mold” on me 🤢. Very sad because it smells so nice in the bottle. I enjoy Burbury “her” very much but the sillage is nonexistent.
I hate the smell of Killian-Don't be shy. It made me feel nauseous 😭
Oh do I disagree! As most Nez will tell you, and they told me in Grasse; fragrance smells completely different from person to person. I personally did this test with 1 fragrance 5 people, results = 4 utterly different scent results. The perfumes my sister wears beautifully smell Completely different on my skin and the top, heart and base notes coming through aren’t even close. The chemistry between skin and fragrance is monumental key in the unfolding of a perfume. If you obsess over a scent that doesn’t develop well on your skin some suggest applying it to your clothing versus your body.
I tried this but still ended up badly.
i hate Black Opium because every single time i feel the scent of it around a woman is in mid day summer.
People who dislike Angel simply don’t get it. It’s unique and timeless. There’s nothing like it out there! It’s a masterpiece and my all time favorite! And I will never stop wearing it! ✨⭐️💫🌌
I dont dislike it at all and I think it is very creative. I am more of a oriental fragrance girl so it wouldn’t be for me but I still like it.
Agree. My favorite of all times. And it last forever
Seriously?! Not everyone likes Patchouli, or sweet perfumes. Some of us like woody orientals, spicy fragrances, and more subtle fragrances. Angel gives me a headache.
@@Jennie8684 right, and thats called having preferences. And what I’m talking about is people who are bashing Angel, saying that it smells cheap, trashy, makes them wanna vomit etc.
It smells like puke
Mon Guerlain don't last at all. When I put it on, I can not even smell it. I loooove how it amell but I am very disappointed by the inexistant longevity.
Everyone BUT me wore Angel in the 90s
I bought Savage when I first started my collection but quickly realized there are many other fragrances that are better although I do like Elixir, Blue Chanel is classic
I had the opposite experience. I bought Bleu de Chanel to start and hated it. I still do. It smells like straight lye to me lol. Sauvage is much more complex and sophisticated.
To each our own preference. That’s what makes fragrances so interesting!
Dior Sauvage is the sexiest men perfume I have ever smelled! I don't know anybody who doesn't like it. It's funny how different is the perception of the fragrances. Bacarat Rouge I can't smell without getting sick. It smells exactly like the French toiletes at the rest stops. There is nothing special and expensive about it. L'interdit I bought without smelling it and I didn't like it at all. I gave it to my mother, she gave it to a friend and she passed it on, nobody liked it!
I have discovered that I don't like patchouli at all 🤣 Hate angel, don't like coco mademoiselle that much either but It do like mon Guerlain 🙈 and I love Alien 🤣
You and I both!
Same I hate Angel and Coco mademoiselle they are too patchouli heavy 🤮
I HATE 'For your Love' it reminds me of stale cigarette smoke doused with cheap scent - I wanted to love it but it is nauseating
BR540 is my girlfriends signature scent and I’ve never heard a bad word, smells incredible to me to
LVEB performs so much better when it’s winter and windy. Soooo beautiful!!!
I stan any man wearing Dior Sauvage cuz they support JD. :))
What a wonderfully creative review! So well done, as always. Genuine. 🥂
I agree with what your comments about Angel, I’ve used it for the past 20 years. It’s very nostalgic for me 🥰
Loved it, although I got offended about the Tom ford 😂 Prada Candy should have been on there in my opinion worst perfume of all time...
Haha me too 🙈
Yes!! Can’t do Candy lol
Love that you appreciate black orchid for what it is
Flowerbomb EDP gave me massive headaches, but La Vie est Belle didn't
Well, La Vie est Belle only smells great on some people. On me it’s simply divine. Olympia and Black Opium are super popular, but they literally stink on my skin. I have to say That perception and skin chemistry determine how people feel about certain scents. Do not listen to the comments of others. Sample the perfume on your skin and see for yourself if you like it, if it smells good on you or not. My sister had bought Kelly Calèche from Hermès and I simply did not understand why she liked it as it smelled just like rose water on her skin. I decided once to try it on my skin and 💥, it smelled sooo complex, leather rose and enchanting. So she had to give it to me
Flower boom make me sick in my stomach was one time I took 12 hours the flight too Thailand someone overspill it the whole cabin smells like flower boom I couldn’t eat as the perfume over powering the food I couldn’t sleep because it too strong seriously the perfume can awaken even dead people on
I have a small decant of BR540, and wore it again yesterday, and still can't stand it. Yuck. I don't understand why it was so hyped a couple years ago. So glad I didn't blind buy a full bottle like I usually do. Love Angel, especially the edt version.
L’Eau is lovely, No5 on me smells like fly spray yet I adore smelling No5 on others🤷🏻♀️ I’m a Coco Noir gal 😊🧡 . Opium ( Poison, Lou Lou & Red Door ) triggers full blown migraine within minutes if I’m near anyone wearing them. . Much love to you, enjoying your channel 🧡Stani x x
BR 540 is my most complimented fragrance. People stop me to ask me what I’m wearing. I love it!
I think it depends if it is hot outside or not. If it is hot, sweet parfumes are nope. But anything under 30C is fine.
I like Mugler Angel, but I love Alien more. Tom Ford Black Orchid, my favorite sexy parfume....and everyone think it too :D..but not in summer, mosquitos are attracted to it..But winter, spring, fall - it is perfect. Salvador Dali Laguna is my favorite for summer, hard to find tho.
Sauvage is amazing 👏 is only hated cuz is the most popular fragrance. Bleu de Chanel is good but not as good, Dior did not make it to steal market share from Chanel LOL Your comments are funny
Bleu de Chanel is classic, Sauvage smells like toothpaste. (And the Aldi Sauvage clone is a 100% match anyway)
Greeting from Hong Kong😍🇭🇰
I love 540 and I don’t mind wear feminine-leaning frags. Do you think For Your Love fits on men?
Why not! Wear what makes you happy 😊
I feel it depends on age group of voters. I'd say predominantly young people voted for these perfumes. Most of them are rather complex, quality and not easy to wear - takes personality and/or certain age to pull them of. None of them is my cup of tea, but there is a sea of bad perfumes I'd rather voted in this category. :)
Not necessarily, the older I get (40s), the more I get sickened by most of these parfumes.
Black Orchid is a masterpiece, period. I’m kind of dumb, but glad to know there are dumber people out there 😜 joking! To each their own haha.
Liked Angel until a coworker wore too much every day. Gave me a headache augh
Molinard’s Nirmala is the OG that preceded Angel by many years. It’s a beautiful classic😊
I have a love/hate relationship with my Xerjoff Amber Star sample. Gorgeous fragrance, but hate the price XD
I have a love/hate relationship with the original Enigma Parfum Pour Elle; love the fragrance with a passion, hate the poor performance and price.
One of the most rediculous fragrance videos I have ever seen.
I love La Vie est Belle, Angel, Alien and Black Orchid and HATE Flowerbomb. Goes to show lol…..
Love is amazing, but so strong you have to go light on the sprays.
Sauvage 'Parfum' version is a masterpiece!
BDC is basic & mid af! Although groundbreaking for it's time.
Black Orchid is a trailblazing masterpiece, altho has a polarizing personality and not for everyone.
540 is another important trailblazing fragrance important in the history of perfumery.
Another great video! Like you, I do agree with some of the unpopular/hated fragrances. My personal #1 unpopular is Alien 🤮...my chemistry HATES it and that means it STINKS to me. Again, great video with amazing alternatives! Many thanks!
THANK YOU! I despise Alien also, I'm genuinely stunned by it's enormous success. I wonder how it would have done in the 1980s? By the way, if you want a big retro-style tribute to the fruity floral BIG fragrances of the 1980s for summer, something flamboyantly joyful and unapologetically feminine and slightly obnoxious then definitely try 'Une Nuit Magnetique' by The Different Company. I'm pretty sure Celine Ellena is behind this one, although it could be Christine Nagel? Hmm, eitehr way it makes me want to sew shoulder pads into all my clothing, buy white stilettos and wear more satin polka dot blouses. And hairspray. More hairspray. ;)
Alien is one of my favorite fragrances, haha.
