Chickadadas, lol. Your Irish is showing. Cicadas (si-kay-das) are a familiar, nostalgic sound of summer in Japan where I used to live. There they are called 'semi' and grow very large and incredibly loud. Young boys like to collect them and trigger their wings. They are quite harmless but if you disturb one sleeping in a bush at night it will 'go' you. Thanks Suzanne, enjoying the journey. All the best with your wedding plans and if anything goes wrong, keep in mind it's the marriage that's much more important. I wish some bridezillas could figure that out.

@@suzannetheraider I think what may have been happening with your memory of the name is some people might have mentioned the Spanish name for them too which is Chicharra which would make total sense cause a lot of people from around the Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada region (of Latino heritage) would use that word instead of Cicada and you might've just mixed the two words together in your mind.
Omg the sky & environment in this level are amazing. I got a cool pic here just after the 1st plane flies over with the rock structures in the background.

One of my favourite levels! I just love the more calm but slightly mysterious atomosphere and the music is perfect for it. Love ending a level with some chaotic Lara behaviour 😂

I've always loved this level, especially that rather refreshing water area by the upper dam. It reminds me of a swimming pool! This level also now holds a special place in my heart. 5 years ago, I moved from the east United States to the west, on a week long roadtrip, with my band. It was my first time getting to step foot in desert landscapes. There's something almost magical about the breathtaking rock formations, red sands, and calm silence that made me feel like I was on another planet! And of course, the Nevada Desert level came to mind while I was exploring the scenery!
And I never realized what the purpose of the compound is until you pointed it out! (A place to research the goings-on in Area 51) that's so cool! Can't wait to see your reaction to the High Security Compound!

Hey Suzanne that’s soooo cool you went to Vegas too! I was 5 years old back in 2001 when me and my family went to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon Arizona and California on Vacation for those couple of weeks. The best nostalgic vacation ever!! Now that I’m older I want to go back to Vegas to see how it’s changed then.

That canyon section is always the part for me where the game goes "so you thought you can traverse in Tomb Raider, think again!". I just lose all my skills there for some reason 😆

Your Spice Girls shirt reminds me of this Tomb Raider fun fact for anyone who doesn't know: According to the 20 Years of Tomb Raider book on page 236, there was a Newsweek quote in 1997 that basically labeled Lara as the sixth Spice Girl, "Call her Shotgun Spice, right in front of you, yet always just out of reach, she's the perfect fantasy girl for the digital generation." 😂

I've been to Nevada too, it was so hot I couldn't even stand in the shade... so I mostly stayed inside the hotel I was staying at for two days. If I remember right... in your last play through it was a heatwave when you were doing these stages.
Oh I’m sorry it was so hot 🥵 I went to Nevada in January, so it was nice and cool. I always travel off season because I cannot stand heat and get really sick from it 😢

I loved this level Suzanne! 🤩❤️😍 I watched it twice back to back because the remastered details were just so amazing. I love the desert insect and wildlife sounds here! 15:31 So realistic and relaxing. Isn’t it interesting how we get used to certain outside ambience from our home and that is what’s comforting for us? I also love the music in TR3. Especially in this level! 5:49 This totally looks like a face! 34:10 💯 Kind of like a grumpy Santa! 😂 Lastly, I don’t think it was a travesty of a play through at all! I absolutely loved it and thought you did a great job! Thank you 😁🤩❤️

Great play through. Love this level. Missed the uzi’s. Still have no uzi’s. Went to the US. We, my brother, 2 friends and me, rented a car. Went to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Did see the Boulder dam and the Grand Canyon. Did a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon. Expensive, but we where single and you only do this once in a lifetime. Lost 100 dollar in Las Vegas. Am doing Aldwich at this moment. Use the Desert Eagle a lot for the stronger enemies with the guns. Thanks for this video.

Also love your internet theory cross examination endeavour.. for your experiment to succeed though, you have to make note of all the pickups you get in the next level until the point where you get the pistols. And then subtract those new pick ups from the total you will have in your inventory at that point to see if the number is the same or higher. Sorry if that was self explanatory and you were already planning to do that...

Hi, Suzanne. This was a bad place for me as I was sick when I played it the first time, all them years ago. So by the time I finished the desert I was fine. So I enjoyed the next part 1000 x more than this level. I hope you have fun playing it.

Some of you may be aware of this already, but at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Ark is placed in a wooden crate and stored in a warehouse, which is revealed to be Area 51 in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) It also contains a mummified alien from Roswell, not dissimilar to the ones depicted in the UFO and autopsy room.
The Ark is in Croft Manor in TR1, so Lara clearly didn't happen across it in Area 51, so she must've acquired it in one of it's other mooted resting places, one of which is the Hill of Tara, County Meath, Ireland. It was supposedly brought over by an Egyptian Princess who married an Irish King called Érimón in the 6th Century. Maybe you should check this out yourself Suzanne 😄
Strangely the Ark was missing from TRA, supposedly due to copyright issues.
The Cherubim that adorn the top of the Ark are second only to the Seraphim in angel hierarchy. Maybe that's where they got the inspiration for the Seraph from. It's safe to say both franchises have borrowed elements from the other, but happily co-exist in the same space. As much as i love Lara, Indy finding the Ark in Tanis will always be canon to me 😁
EDIT there is a tv show called Warehouse 13 that ran from 2009-2014 that has it the Ark ended up there, along with other mysterious artifacts. Never heard of it until just now, but it has really good reviews.

The 'face' picture on the wall of the conspiracy guys' wall is the NASA photo of a face on Mars. You should Google it, it's pretty creepy, even though it turned out to just be some very convenient shadows that made it look that way!

Hey Suzanne! The change in frame rate causes the graphics to go funny, you would have imported and edited in 60fps but old graphics switch to 30fps, if you keep the camera moving it will help 😊 great video! Nevada is my favourite section out the whole series
