FIRST! Hey, thank you so much for watching this long-ass video! I worked a long time on this project. Most of the gameplay was recorded within the first 7 days of release. The script was based on that playthrough. Long into production the first patch was released and I had to change or add stuff. Then when I thought I was finished the second patch came around and I had to change things yet again. I'm aware that I didn't cover everything from the patches. I've read all of the patch notes but decided not to include everything here - or else this video would never have been finished. More patches will keep coming and this video will probably be outdated sooner than I'd like - but that's just the way it is. I'm just happy to finally release it for you guys and gals to see. I hope you enjoy the video even if you don't agree with my ranking. Please tell me your ranking below :)
Used to hate London levels in PS1 because it was so dark. But now, I just love them because of the lights they put around the stages and makes things brighter.
Same! I believe most people played TR3 on the PS1, hence the reason it is almost always ranked so low on most gamer's list. After beating TR3 a few times through the remastered version, I fell in love with the whole game (including the London levels!)
I agree. I never finished TR3 on Playstation, couldn't remember why. But comparing old vs remastered visuals, I saw how stupidly dark a lot of London used to be, and now I've been enjoying the London stuff. Well not so much Auldwich and it's confusing labyrinths. 😂
I never used to enjoy the London levels but am in the Remasters. Overall I'm liking the game alot more than I used too, also helps the save system is so much better than it was originally on the PS1.
The London levels are very underrated in my opinion. Some of the series best settings and atmospheres. Aldwych is awesome, Lara Croft in an abandoned tube station? It's perfect
Using Seraph to open that tiny wooden door in Tibet will never be not funny. Lara travelled to Venice, the oil rig, the wreck of Maria Doria evaded massive eels, survived a plane crash, and it was all for that tiny door. That really brings down the experience for me. I often wondered if the devs wanted to troll the players a bit. I mean just before reaching that area we had to open that large golden door using the prayer wheels, so the technology to implement larger doors was definitely there.
I played TR2 on emulator and I got a bug that I couldn't plug in Seraph after putting all prayer wheels on their places. Lara just refused to do it! I was soooo mad I just gave up and rage quitted the game. Luckily, I didn't get the same bug when Remastered came out.
Yes. I agree with you, it is exact what i thought about this little door, looks like " Kohlenkeller " as we say in Germany. Greetz to all fans around the world
I wonder if there was supposed to be a more impactful role to the Seraph which was scrapped? It seems borderline evil to me that it gets utilized for that one, microscopic door, which Lara could have shot open.
Yay! This is impressive. I hope Last Revelation gets a nice makeover. It really needs it and hopefully newer hardware will allow it full potential. Aldo can't wait for Angel of Darkness
Damn GFrom. I know you hold yourself to a certain standard with your videos but I could tell you REALLY put a lot of effort and care into this one especially. You got me to sit here the entire hour and 12. Great stuff my friend.
10. Nevada Desert (Feels very relaxing to play somehow, and for all the right reasons) 9. Furnace of The Gods (The best expansion level by a country mile) 8. Palace Midas (Love how the level wraps in on itself, and is filled with cool puzzles and platforming) 7. Barkhang Monetary (Would have been higher, but it's way too easy to accidentally shoot the monks) 6. RX Tech Mines (I didn't mind the minecarts oddly enough, which allowed the rest of the level to shine) 5. Crash Site (Great mix of everything) 4. Obelisk of Khamoon (Easily the level we'd disagree the most on) 3. Atlantis (A very satisfying ascent, excellent setting and combat I actually enjoyed makes it TR1's finest) 2. Madubu Gorge (I am amongst the fabled kayak fans you mentioned! Similar to RX Tech Mines, I didn't mind the parts that brought the level down for most people) 1. Temple of Xian (You know it's something special that after a long and gruelling challenge, the thing I wanted to do right after was to do it all again) Most hated is Aldwych. Even once you know where to go and what to do, it's devoid of fun moments. Temple Ruins would be #11.
I just want to thank you for the montage at the end of the video. It was perfectly relaxing. And might I say you have excellent taste in music: Something Spooky is my all-time favourite song from Tomb Raider, too.
I've been watching your videos on Tomb Raider recently and it's been the best look at classic Tomb Raider. I remember playing some Tomb Raider on an old demo disk when I was a kid but I really got into Tomb Raider through the Survivor games. I've been interested in checking out the older games and started playing the remastered collection since it came out (I'm currently on The Cistern) and your videos have been helpful in understanding the mechanics and some of the more obtuse parts of the game. It's been enjoyable playing the older games while watching videos of experienced fans talking about all the details of the games.
Great video, enjoyed literally every second of it. I disagree with the Thames stage though since its easily one of my favourites in terms of atmosphere. The distant car noises, the bluish Illumination, a true noctornal experience in a seemingly anbandoned area with lots of parcouring and exploring
I'm not feeling hardcore enough to rank them all like you GFrom, but Sanctuary of the Scion for its sphinx pull back moment and The Lost Valley for everything about it are my top two. I had so much fun revisiting this series with the remasters and getting to play the expansions for the first time and seeing you sum it all up was a treat. Thank you for all your work and the nostalgia! :)
@GFrom This might be my new comfort video 😂 your voice is very nice to listen to, but especially when you say "Pierrrre 😠" tbh, I actually now say his name that way and my mates just don't get it 😂
Gfrom! Pierre won't disappear if you follow him. You need to shoot at him for a while, then get him off your screen. He's a little French magician that can dissolve into air, but he certainly will not share his tricks with Lara. Scare him and then respect his privacy :+D Mad respect for this and other videos. Your dedication and care for math and statistics earned you a special place in my routines. Thank you!
For me London levels are one of the best, but I love rankings and to see why other people have still other opinions and thats okay! My favorite is High Security Compound in TR3. Lara is still badass without her pistols
Sweet! I was actually hoping you'd do a video like this after seeing another channel do it a while ago. Always enjoy hearing what people actually think of all the levels since the good/bad ones are pretty evenly dispersed throughout the series. Madubu Gorge I have a love/hate thing with. It's beautiful and well-constructed and even the idea behind the kayak is great, but the actual controls for the dang thing ruin its use. The Hive I actually really liked because of the story flavor- I always figured Natla's army she mentions would still be lurking somewhere even with her dead, so Lara being a badass that just Rambos her way through them is pretty cool. A lot of the rooms are pretty darn nifty too. The only thing I think is actually wrong with any of the Atlantis-aligned levels is that the enemy variety is pretty low considering just how many mutants you have to kill. I've actually found that all the levels I outright disliked when I was younger I'm actually pretty fond of now. I think a lot of it has to do with just being able to appreciated the complicated level design. At the end of the day I don't have much negative to say about the old TR games- 2 has too many human enemies, and 3 has too many "how was I supposed to figure that out on purpose" moments. That's about it lol. Anyways From, good work. Look forward to the next vid.
Great video. I had so much fun playing the added levels. The temple of the cat is amazing. Temple of Xian is absolutely amazing. But for me I love Palace Midas. Tomb Raider remastered has been such a pleasure to play. Classic games that are thought provoking and challenging. The music is also amazing.
What an excellent video. Nastogia overload. Must have taken sometime to edit and commentate on. 10/10 effort. Fun fact: as these were my games in late 90’s, this is currently ‘get to sleep’ video. 😊 It’s a complement 💪🏼
Man, great vid, I'll need to get on this collection soon. Also, they give you back all your weapons in Nevada, now?!? Why is no one talking about this?
I loved this vid and how similar our opinions are with the levels. Out of your top 17 levels, 13 of those are in my favorite levels too (TR3 is my fave and Nevada is my fave region in all of TR). A lot of our least fave levels are the same too haha. I’m glad you enjoyed the remasters! I having ton of fun other than struggling with new game +, but that’s part of the charm
This was a great list! Making my way through the remastered trilogy currently. I hope the success (financial and fan reception) will bring about remasters of Last Revelation, Chronicles, and Angel Of Darkness. Or perhaps a new game in this classic style (similar to how Capcom has done with the RE series).
Like you, TR was the first 3D game I played, and it showed me what was possible in such a game. My feelings about the levels now are inseparable from how I felt at the time. For this reason my favourite level is Atlantis. Standing at the bottom of that pit knowing that in order to reach the top I would have to put to use all the skills I had learned remains one of the highlights of 30+ years of gaming for me. Overall the sense of isolation and focus is why I love these games, no idiotic companions running around ruining things or jabbering at you over the radio.
VERY great list. Honestly its about 50/50 to the order I would put them in. I TOTALY GOT that you would have put Lud's Gate at the bottom lol Thanks for a great video :)
Hellow G!! Love your reviews!! I just want to say that i funny thing that happend when i was playing tomb raider 2 level 9 Living Quarters,i did a "shorcut" without realising At the end of the level you have to raise the water level sou you can reach the edge I didn't You can jump without the water You just have to aim to the very left side of the edge of the exit😅 Sou when i finish the level a said, what the key for?,(theatre key) I load the game and play again And realise i did a "shortcut"
@@GFromi think the last revelation was too ambitious and needed better hardware. Imagine it on the PS2. Chronicles was a severe case of burnout. If not for the annual releases 4 and 5, and to a lesser extent 3 would be much better.
I've been working on an ultimate TR ranking list of all levels ever created for every platform (including handheld & mobile, spinoffs.....Overall around 500 levels), so I'm always glad to see a list like this one and to compare it. The biggest difference is that I like complex levels, so naturally Aldwych is the most drastic example. Btw that "pointless" part of Crash Site is a result of an overlook by developers. We were not supposed to climb the plane from the ground level, but they messed up one of the slopes and made it climbable.
You can get through that spike trap in Lud's Gate (2:19) without taking damage; when you grab the ledge, hit the Crawl button instead of Forward. If you're fast enough, Lara will duck under the spikes and be sliding down the slope before they touch her.
Now this was a very nice and well done video with some interesting choices based on your preferences. I can't help but compare to those of mine, and also compare to AxMania's video on the topics (an older review of all the levels from the first three games with expansions - not specifically targeting the remasters). All thumbs up 🙂
I havent watched the video yet (doing it now) but it safe to say that Atlantean Stronghold and The Hive are the best levels of Tomb Raider history ... :) Edit: Watched it now! Great video again. Here is my small top 5: (Temple of Xian would be in my Top 10, I really like the challenge that that level provides!) 5. Area 51 4. Jungle 3. The Lost Valley 2. St. Francis Folly 1. Palace Midas Its a bit TR1 heavy, but thats because thats my favourite out of them all. That said: I really hope they remaster TR 4-6 as well, having it all in one package is really great. Happy raiding!
Perfect thing to unwind on a day off, thanks, GFrom :D I never thought about making a list for all the levels, as for a lot of them I don't have any strong feelings. There are some I find lackluster: for instance whole Unfinished Business was hard for me to get through, as first TR's platforming gets a little stale after some time because of lack of moves from later games. I was positively frustrated by the time I hit Temple of the Cat, great visuals be damned. But overally I am more of vibes person - for instance I know London gets a lot of slack, but I like how stupidly complicated it is and how it verges more into adventure than action with all stupid shit we have to do during those. I love first part od Lud's Gate and most of Aldwych. I also appreciate vertical level design from Thames Wharf's first part (and I always forget that the second part is not the next level). If I had to point out one flaw in London levels is how stupidly enormous they are. I get tired with Lud's Gate 1-hour-at-least screentime and that's coming from a person that LIKES the level, so yeah, there you have it. All Hallows is a big disappointment though - great setting, lackluster execution. I grew up liking Nevada more through the years. Madubu Gorge is wonderful and I am one of the lucky few that doesn't mind the kayak (although yeah, the final drop can go and f itself with its random damage). In Antarctica though I only like the beginning and portions of RT-X Mines. A lot of times I just don't bother with Lost City of Tinnos: it feels bloated, it's not fun and just not appealing in graphics area. India is peak of TR3, and I also grew more fond of Temple Ruins across the years. It just kicked my teen ass so much, especially when you didn't had a memory card, dying was more of "when" than "if". But Jungle is just so iconic and nostalgic for me, I can play it without dying with my eyes closed and it's just the quintessential TR experience for me. Also everything in The Lost Artifact is just pure gold. In TR2 I like Venice levels and I think that's it. Sometimes Offshore Rig is okay, sometimes it feels like a filler; sometimes I like Maria Doria, sometimes it looks like one big-ass level which parts are indistinguishable from each other and after the second one I have enough. I have similar feelings for Tibet and China, though I just don't like the final gauntlets of Temple of Xian and Floating Islands. I get that those are the final levels, they are meant to be difficult, but ten thousand traps, pitfalls and absurdly strong enemies make it a chore to play through. I usually don't moan about Tomb Raider's difficulty, but in those levels I feel devs took all their ideas for the most unfair stuff the series is known for and just packed it up with a nice ribbon on top for the grand finale. I also don't find the Golden Mask that great of an expansion, but that's just because Cold War isn't a very interesting setting for me. I'll admit I played TR1 only twice in my life, so I don't remember the levels that well. I am not terribly fond of Atlantis - it has great platforming but the enemies are really a pain in the ass in this game that doesn't do combat too well for such hectic encounters and they kinda suck the fun out. Everything else is great, though after playing TR2 and TR3 it's kinda hard not to think TR1 is a little too basic in its structure. So yeah, in a nutshell I am biased towards TR3 (especially Last Artifact) and I like London levels :D
I've only gotten thru Tomb Raider 1 & 2 with their expansions so far. Loving it, especially since I didn't have the sequels as a kid. Steeling myself for TR3
Enjoy it for what it is, but I would say play them in order so you can appreciate the small upgrades they made in 2 and 3, not sure about the modern controls as I haven’t used them but enjoy! Well worth a play
Do Lara's Home missions first (TR2 Home training time trial is great help for first game too, it teaches you different jumps), and don't be afraid to look up walkthroughs when stuck.
@@KasumiRINA praise jebus for walkthroughs. The whole living quater one took me a good 3 months cause no way was my mum buying me an expensive magazine to get the walkthrough in back in them days!
Start with TR1, since the first few levels have a low difficulty, easing you into the controls. And do play Lara's home first. Also, please be aware that these games require patience. Don't expect to be able to do quick and easy platforming like modern games or even many contemporary ones. To me, the slow, painstaking platforming is part of the appeal. I like how careful you have to be. I guess it puts me in 'zen' because I have to really focus my attention on it and sometimes it increases the tension quite a bit. I somewhat disagree with Tismeabbie that you should make heavy use of walkthroughs. There's a special feeling you get when you figure out the way forward by yourself. Maybe set a time limit or something for how often you allow yourself to use the walkthroughs.
6:56 side jump also works. For this AND for Unfinished Business medipack near the start, just take your weapons out if on modern controls, and do the side jump.
The Opera House is my all time favourite TR level. The whole Venice world is my all time favourite world Lara goes too. Those levels are just gorgeous and so much fun!!
Top level for me hands-down is Barkhang Monastery, blew little me away and still does. Just adore it, if Temple of Xian didn’t have the spider cave, that would be first
The Deck at #1 for me. The distance you can see on the remaster really opens up the layers of the ship. Combine that with the hull, propellers, shark lake and the concept of scaling all the way to the top of the broken funnel to get the Storage Key is immense.
I was worried you'd put Madubu Gorge high up as it absolutely injured my thumb getting all pickups there (like the very first time you're on kayak steering back into that crystal resulted in physical pain, and one on waterfall isn't much better). Being followed by that rolling saw trollface didn't help. XD
I LOVED Lud's Gate with Egyptian murals back and getting all pickups without a fly mod is impossible (can glitch near Sphinx for the rest). There are several issues in remastered version tho, like crappy textures underwater making stones look organic and wrong tex on the alcove where you need to breath water (it has a bright red box in original so you know where to go).
Regarding getting that item in The Cistern, if you hold "grab" while in the air, Lara won't bounce off of walls anymore. In fact, she will start moving forward again once the wall is no longer in front of her. This technique is used to get to some tricky spots. Mind you, you'll need to put away the guns.
I just played through Lud's gate for the first time (played all early TR's except for TR3). For years I heard about how terrible it was so I was expecting the worst but turned out to not be too bad. The weird sphinx and the whole sinister vibe of the enbalming fluid guys was pretty cool. The underwater part was frustrating especially because i somehow didnt find the spot to take a breath and traveled down the pipe for every switch.. ended up burning like 5 medipacks but just wanted to blaze through it.. too stubborn to look at a walkthrough until i was done
My personal top 10 10. Obelisk of Khamoon 9. Nevedas Desert 8. Tibetian Foothills 7. Sanctuary of The Scion 6. Temple Ruins 5. At Francis Folly 4. Barkhang Monastery 3. Palace Midas 2. Great Wall 1. Temple Of Xian I have yet to finish the expansion packs since I've never gotten to play them cant wait for them im late for the remasters so far im on the 2nd level of Unfinished Business
After really, *really* enjoying TR1&2, I was really confused about why things suddenly took a turn for the worse once I started the London levels in TR3. Glad to see they are rated the worst, which means it can only get better from here. I'll power through the last one and hopefully get back to having fun again 👍
Opera House pissed me off as a kid and I actually finished it in a wrong way by doing a curved jump (discovered this shortcut all by myself out of sheer frustration). Then I just kept replaying the levels I actually liked (basically all of them except Floating Islands cuz it freaked me out lol) and ignored this one so it took a while for me to even finish it properly. However, thanks to remaster I've been thoroughly playing these games again and man, this time I actually *loved* Opera house. It was fun gameplay wise but I think the gorgeous new graphics also had to do with my enjoyment. The nighttime skybox and those outdoor lightings were so atmospheric.
I think I agree with almost all of the appreciations of each level. London levels are a nightmare, Luds Gate is the level I got stuck forever back in 1998, had to use walkthroughs for the first time after many years. All Hallows doesn't really add anything new to the table and being a super hidden level one expects something crazier like Nightmare in Vegas. It shows that it was just some scraped level and they decided to include it anyways. That Natla's little maze at the end that you barely mentioned, I hate those 3d kind of mazes where you had to push and pull tons of blocks, even with a guide, it's so cumbersome. Underwater levels in TR2 are also not my favorites in general, too many levels. The Maria Doria and The Deck are sort of ok or more memorable, the other 2 just feel generic and some of the pull a switch to flood or change level architecture remind me more of the worst parts of the Egypt levels in TR1 with all the guessing of what changed. Maria Doria also has that unique puzzle with the double doors that you have to open and then close again to make a new path back in a previous room, I like that puzzle, but if you don't do it when you have the chance, you have to backtrack the entire level I think, not sure if you could go back using that roof trapdoor that opens. Agreed with Lost city of tinnos, being a not terrible level, but a lot of things could have been better. It has the hardest secret in the whole TR first games (1-5), has those spawning wasps that depending on the console they were infinite or just 21 (weird number), the vertical room with tons of switches was the worst. My take on the greece levels in TR1, I think the main reason why Cistern and Tomb of Tihocan are not as good as the previous levels, is that they look like sewers. Generic videogame sewers, you could be in Greece or any other place and it would be the same. Guess it was part of the reason of the merge they did for Anniversary with both being 1 level. The TR2 gold levels are a mix bag, you have the first 2 Tibet levels (alaska right ?) that are just very vanilla TR2 like, and then you have those other 2 levels with the molten gold all over the place, and that huge and incredible secret in the treetops where you go inside that lava chamber and you have to jump some tiles by looking at the roof, god I love that secret. I'm so glad that they only used those damn springs in Ice Palace and one part of Temple of Xian, they are so annoying and out of place in TR. RX Tech mines, agreed, that huge underwater section is way too much. And the cart mines, well .. if you climbed the wrong one by mistake, better to reload, it will take a ton of time to get back. I guess they were going for the Indiana Jones 2 movie feel with the carts, but it didn't really work ohh Madubu Gorge, I thought you were the guy with the video that ranked that level #1 in all the 3 games ! Guess not. TR1 gold levels are just filler to me, there are some interesting moments in all 4 levels, but nothing really outstanding, I'm just happy that there's no NG+ for those. I like Atlantis level, it's a cool twist on the typical Atlantis games (I always go back to my favorite game ever, Indy and the Fate of Atlantis), and the theme of climbing up the whole tower is always a favorite trope for last levels (I think popularized by original Prince of Persia, and the done again in Sands of Time) The mechanic of "re pick the crowbar" that you use in Antarctica is terrible, and shows how the engine was not up to par with what they wanted to do. Not sure why they didn't just add a new key inside the cabin and forget about the crowbar. I'm in spot #40 now, will continue later.
3:24 My personal best is 24 seconds. For entire Thames Wharf... The longer route takes about 35. That's why I am not angry how silly and sprawling the rest of the level is as at any point you can just jump to the very end either by climbing a slide to the left of starting location (safest way like on 3:40) or by jumping from the crane down (one you show at 3:43)... there's a third path trough barbed wire behind Lara's start but I couldn't do it without fly mode making her grab the ledge instead of being impaled on the barbies.
Number one will always be Venice. From the music, to the first encounter with human enemies. I remember as a kid I really loved getting to this level and in the remaster it only makes me love it that much more.
I wish the ending to ICE Palace would be slightly different. For example when you have beaten the birdman, you still Need to escape the palace. That would have been fierce! Same for The Deck btw
I'm still waiting on a physical release because I know the day after I break down and buy it digitally, it'll get announced. Glad to see they are really polishing it with the patches.
48:24 there's a safe zone if you swim towards the water wheel. It takes a while but eventually Lara will be out of the current near the wheel and she can climb out.
I finished the remastered trilogy +expansion levels 2 days ago. I enjoyed every second of these games. It felt super rewarding cause I had all 5 of them on my PS1 when I was a kid, never managed to finish any of them back then without the level skip cheats. I was planning to move on with Last Revelation and Chronicles to finish all the PS1 era instalments, installed both of them and just before I went for it the new remasters trailer got out. Fuck! 😅Now I have to wait until February to do it properly.
25:33 There’s actually a glitch to avoid fall damage. You can climb onto the boat by pushing Lara in a specific spot. That saves you from the fall damage and time walking all the way up there.
FIRST!
Hey, thank you so much for watching this long-ass video!
I worked a long time on this project. Most of the gameplay was recorded within the first 7 days of release. The script was based on that playthrough.
It's always a joy 2 listen 2 u talk about games, especially Tomb Raider ✊ 🎶the roof, the roof is on fire🎶 gets Mii every time 😅😅
I mixed it up with the 5 secrets 😅🙈
About those wasps at 12:22... if you kill 20 or 21 of them, they stop spawning. Just a little tip that might make that level more bearable.

Great video, enjoyed literally every second of it. I disagree with the Thames stage though since its easily one of my favourites in terms of atmosphere. The distant car noises, the bluish Illumination, a true noctornal experience in a seemingly anbandoned area with lots of parcouring and exploring
LET'S GO!!!! Another Tomb Raider video. Love it!
Love how you say "Thank you" after the patch parts. 😂😂😂 Paying homage to TR1 Lara after knocking Larson out
Ohhh perfect. New Gfrom video whilst working on a cross stitch on a Sunday! Life’s little pleasures 😊
Cross stitch and a Tomb raider Gfrom video. what more could a girl need
@@paulwoodford1984 a cup of tea bought by a butler would be nice 🤣
I'm not feeling hardcore enough to rank them all like you GFrom, but Sanctuary of the Scion for its sphinx pull back moment and The Lost Valley for everything about it are my top two. I had so much fun revisiting this series with the remasters and getting to play the expansions for the first time and seeing you sum it all up was a treat. Thank you for all your work and the nostalgia! :)
I've watched all your Tomb Raider videos and I love to see people so passionate about the series
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I played all of these when they were first released. And now I'm revisiting them with the remasters.
PATCHED!
Thank you!
Got me every time LOL. Just subscribed!
Thank you! 😁
WOW!!! Thank you so much for all the effort and love you put into this video!! Seriously, the montage at the end was pretty amazing.
Thank you so much for watching! 🙌
Scare him and then respect his privacy :+D
Mad respect for this and other videos. Your dedication and care for math and statistics earned you a special place in my routines. Thank you!
For me London levels are one of the best, but I love rankings and to see why other people have still other opinions and thats okay! My favorite is High Security Compound in TR3. Lara is still badass without her pistols
The south pacific was by far my favourite chapter in the trilogy series.
It’s a complement 💪🏼
Thank you so much!!
I having ton of fun other than struggling with new game +, but that’s part of the charm
great video, you going through all the classic titles is on part with my favorite content on RUclips
big tomb raider fan, so happy!
Deine Videos sind echt nice.
Alte Spiele übertrieben aufwändig analysieren ist eine Art Content, der niemals aussterben sollte 😅
Enjoyed this! Like you ive played them from the very start and playing through the remasters now brings back so much nostalgia! I like your list!
Thank you so much! 🙌
I really, really, really like the statisticsmania at the end, much appreciated 😂
This was a great list! Making my way through the remastered trilogy currently. I hope the success (financial and fan reception) will bring about remasters of Last Revelation, Chronicles, and Angel Of Darkness. Or perhaps a new game in this classic style (similar to how Capcom has done with the RE series).
Always love your TR vids. Great nostalgia. Great humour. Would love more content out of these games
So glad to see the TR3 love. It was my first tomb raider. It will always be my favorite
ive NEVER seen that glitch in The Dragon's Lair before that was hilarious omg, always seeing new things about this game LOL
The sense of isolation and exploration is unparalleled in Tomb Raider I feel.
Always a pleasure to hear you talking with passion about things you love !
Really nice video and a great piece of work, for sure !
VERY great list. Honestly its about 50/50 to the order I would put them in.
I TOTALY GOT that you would have put Lud's Gate at the bottom lol
Thanks for a great video :)
Hellow G!! Love your reviews!!
I just want to say that i funny thing that happend when i was playing tomb raider 2 level 9 Living Quarters,i did a "shorcut" without realising
At the end of the level you have to raise the water level sou you can reach the edge
I didn't
You can jump without the water
You just have to aim to the very left side of the edge of the exit😅
Sou when i finish the level a said, what the key for?,(theatre key)
I load the game and play again
And realise i did a "shortcut"
Fantastic video. Your list is spot on.
Are you hopeful for a TR4 and 5 remaster?
Thank you!
I mean I would certainly play them, but it's not like I'm waiting for them. They just aren't as fun to play as the Trilogy IMO.
@@GFromi think the last revelation was too ambitious and needed better hardware. Imagine it on the PS2. Chronicles was a severe case of burnout. If not for the annual releases 4 and 5, and to a lesser extent 3 would be much better.
@@GFromwell I look forward to any potential video you make on them, since they have been announced now
I really don't know yet... I'm not excited about them, so we'll see.
@@GFrom that’s fair mate. Maybe you’ll feel differently when they release

Hey thankyou for making this. Always love your tomb raider content.
Thank you for watching 🙌
Totally agree btw, Nevada is amazing. I can't believe how immersive I found area 51 all these years later
What an epic list, mate! Loved every min of it❤
You can get through that spike trap in Lud's Gate (2:19) without taking damage; when you grab the ledge, hit the Crawl button instead of Forward.
Edit: Watched it now! Great video again.
Here is my small top 5: (Temple of Xian would be in my Top 10, I really like the challenge that that level provides!)
5. Area 51
4. Jungle
3. The Lost Valley
2. St. Francis Folly
1. Palace Midas
Its a bit TR1 heavy, but thats because thats my favourite out of them all. That said: I really hope they remaster TR 4-6 as well, having it all in one package is really great.
Happy raiding!
Thanks for this wonderful hour!
Thanks for watching 🙌
Perfect thing to unwind on a day off, thanks, GFrom :D
I never thought about making a list for all the levels, as for a lot of them I don't have any strong feelings.
Same here - I just can’t get myself ready for the monster that is TR3, even though I adore that game 😭
Did you play Tomb Raider 3? 😊
@@CozyGlow625 H’yep. It was pretty good
Am I the only one who actually enyojs the modern controls? It lets you do everything you need just a different way.
Totally agree with you on the minecart part ugh hate it. I really like the first 2 london levels 🙋🏻♂️ haha
Love this!!
Loved the video!
Thanks for watching 🙌
Any tips for first timers of the trilogy?, I grew up with most of Laras later games but haven't gotten around to the orginal trilogy.
Enjoy it for what it is, but I would say play them in order so you can appreciate the small upgrades they made in 2 and 3, not sure about the modern controls as I haven’t used them but enjoy! Well worth a play
Explore, enjoy and be patient 😜
Oh! Thanks so much for buying my shirt 😍
That's your shirt? Awesome! 🙌
Yeey another tomb raider video :)
This deserves a subscribe 👌🏻
Thank you 🙌
i was waiting for your video man...
Love this video!
6:56 side jump also works. For this AND for Unfinished Business medipack near the start, just take your weapons out if on modern controls, and do the side jump.
As a brit myself, I believe I speak for most brits in saying the London levels in tr3 are pure trash. So no offence taken.
I concur
The Opera House is my all time favourite TR level. The whole Venice world is my all time favourite world Lara goes too. Those levels are just gorgeous and so much fun!!
Agree!! The Venice chapter is so gorgeous and it’s fun
Top level for me hands-down is Barkhang Monastery, blew little me away and still does. Just adore it, if Temple of Xian didn’t have the spider cave, that would be first
Gfrom you are a GOD. Please bring us a Rayman 1 or abes exoddus review! Thanks for your content
Rayman 1 is SO hard 😅
I want to review Abe's Exoddus later this year 👍
@@GFromWOW the legend has answered 🤩 nothing is too hard for you, but at least the exoddus review would be amazing! Thanks again
The Deck at #1 for me. The distance you can see on the remaster really opens up the layers of the ship. Combine that with the hull, propellers, shark lake and the concept of scaling all the way to the top of the broken funnel to get the Storage Key is immense.
Great material for a great remaster.
Thanks, yeah I know about this trick. If I remember correctly it didn't work here for me, but I could be wrong.
Rx tech mines for the one medi pack the swimming bit I would say.

I loved this video
I love the India levels in the 3rd game. Spot on.
🙏🙌 Fantastic video
And there it is🤩
Cistern has always been my fave level.
After really, *really* enjoying TR1&2, I was really confused about why things suddenly took a turn for the worse once I started the London levels in TR3. Glad to see they are rated the worst, which means it can only get better from here. I'll power through the last one and hopefully get back to having fun again 👍
So, what did you think of the last ones?
Guessing RX tech mines or the Deck for the medpack
The only good part about Thames Warf is swan diving off the building when you very first load in 😂
I did that in '99 😂😂
Its pronounced "Tems" Wharf, fyi for everyone outside the UK ;D
Great video
Sorry 😅
@@GFrom it's a dumb spelling tbf 😅
I guess they were going for the Indiana Jones 2 movie feel with the carts, but it didn't really work
ohh Madubu Gorge, I thought you were the guy with the video that ranked that level #1 in all the 3 games ! Guess not.
TR1 gold levels are just filler to me, there are some interesting moments in all 4 levels, but nothing really outstanding, I'm just happy that there's no NG+ for those.
I like Atlantis level, it's a cool twist on the typical Atlantis games (I always go back to my favorite game ever, Indy and the Fate of Atlantis), and the theme of climbing up the whole tower is always a favorite trope for last levels (I think popularized by original Prince of Persia, and the done again in Sands of Time)
The mechanic of "re pick the crowbar" that you use in Antarctica is terrible, and shows how the engine was not up to par with what they wanted to do. Not sure why they didn't just add a new key inside the cabin and forget about the crowbar.
I'm in spot #40 now, will continue later.
I stopped dead in my tracks wen i saw this so i watched it right there 😅
3:24 My personal best is 24 seconds.
Team Finland here again! Lets see what you cooked up :P
Enjoy! 🇫🇮

ofc i don't agree with your opinion, but it's nice to see it
nice one !
48:24 there's a safe zone if you swim towards the water wheel. It takes a while but eventually Lara will be out of the current near the wheel and she can climb out.
I didn't know that 😲
I finished the remastered trilogy +expansion levels 2 days ago.
@GFrom Reviews hey where can I get that cool Tomb Raider shirt? I'm looking for some classic TR shirts
