Yay! You did really great with this level despite some of those unexpected jump scares! Those Damned members and their dogs sure like to come out of nowhere!
I truly love the Aldwych level and the lore and mystery it evokes. The real Aldwych is only that room with the ticket machines (with lifts leading down to the platforms instead of long escalators), the train platform with the hidden penny, and the train platform with the old train. Apparently the latter was closed as early as the 1910's so the appearance of the old train there is not only semi-accurate but proves just how much the team did their research! Also, if you are a fan of British Invasion era music, The Kinks filmed their music video for their 1984 song "Do it again" at the real Aldwych!
And what did Lara say when she met a witch in the tube station?
Lara: Are you a young witch?
Witch: No my dear, I'm an Aldwych!

You’re so good at these levels, Suzanne! I played this game twice back in 2000’s and yet, got so lost playing remastered version, I was pulling my hair. Completely forgot about that ticket machine(it wasn’t lit up) and was running in circles for an hour through every location sniffing on every brick, looking for a missed switch 🤯😂

I always thought the Damned were Irish because of the flag on Bob’s trident, but it can also be the Italian flag, or french if that’s not actually green 😵💫 I’m confused 😂
Anyways I love Aldwych as well, even though I have flashbacks of getting stuck in it forever back in the day when I first played it. The complexity of the London levels is deep. That’s why I miss games like this. The whole backtracking to find more pick ups and secrets, the open map, the platforming… I will forever love these 90s games
Oh I never noticed the flag! I wonder what it’s supposed to be? 🤔 Haha yes I think back in the day we got stuck on all the London levels going in never ending loops for ages 😂🙈 These games certainly challenged us all back then 🥰

Hi, Suzanne. The fancy train in the tube. Might have been the Queens tube train. Because the game is old. And the Queen was still alive R.I.P. But its now King Charle III tube train. You never know.

Unpopular opinion but I love this level, it's always been one of my favorites in TR3. Yes, it's complex as hell, but it's so atmospheric, and it's really enjoyable if you know what to do and where to go. The London levels look great in the remaster.

Aldwych is one of those damn levels that deffo test your patience lol I think I cursed more in this level than Temple of Xian and Lost City of Tinnos 🙃🙃🤣🤣

Again I enjoyed this level more in the remaster.
With the ticket booths, the one you can use says 1d above it, the others say 2d. I think this goes back to when shillings were legal currency in the UK. Not sure if this was in the original TR3 though or if the booths all said the same.

London Underground was a favourite location when I played the original because I liked the recreation of the white tunnels with their brickwork 😃 17:17 masterful platforming down that shaft. Always was very tricky. Worst bit for me is turning in the air while jumping - still can’t get to grips with it. I remember originally doing that section over and over
This is a very cool level 😍 And thank you! I still can’t get the flippy jump sometimes, took me two attempts here, so it can still be tricky to hit the buttons at the right time ❤️
Good play through. This level is a big maze. Lots of buttons. Very difficult for people playing it for the first time. Did play it at least 5 times and still do not know my way through this level. Forgot about the key on the drill. Thanks for showing. Thanks for this video.

Time to set aside an hour and watch your entertaining playthrough! 😊 I dont know if you know, but if you roll just before landing after dropping while hanging, you'll take less damage if it's a long drop. As long as you have enough space to roll (for instance it wouldn't work on that Antarctica drop part). Just thought I'd pass that along. Also, that intense music hitting and the camera panning to see the baddie just standing there got me good 😂 Looking forward to the next video Suzanne!

I don't know if anyone realised this but when the enemies walk it sounds like a dabber dabbing on a bingo card lol. Anyway I did like the little short music when an enemy is about to appear.

7:11 I think that’s supposed to be a Nazi soldier. Because obviously a tube station that’s been abandoned since the mid-1990s is still going to have WWII posters on the walls…

34:00 Ooh, that’s neat. The ‘D’ on the machines is what was used to designate pence in pre-decimal currency, and the machine that provides the ticket is the only one that’s charging a single penny rather than tuppence. Much more logical than ‘the machine that’s _not_ lit up is the one to use’, as used to be the case.
39:56 I think that’s basically it. The first button you pushed appears to be an exception, but the others seem to move each door showing the image that’s next to them. The tricky bit (AFAICT) is that there’s one open ‘banana’ door and one closed one, so pushing the button closes the open one at the same time that it opens the closed one. However, there’s a ‘squiggle’ door that can be used to bypass the first ‘banana’ door, so you need to use the ‘squiggle’ button to get to the second ‘banana’ door while it’s open.
53:56 At least it’s only the one secret that’s just a crystal here. Area 51 is far stingier with its secrets - and it doesn’t give you Uzis, either.
56:49 I saw one Let’s Player get so badly jumpscared by those bats, he made Lara jump backwards, and she landed in the fire. Possibly the most spectacular fatal error I’ve ever seen.
58:22 Maybe Tube trains were more like this in bygone days. Between the wartime posters and the pre-decimal currency, this whole station seems to be in a bit of a time warp, so an old-fashioned carriage wouldn’t be out of place.
Or possibly it’s a special luxury carriage used by the Freemasons who meet in that temple.

In my playthrough of the original a year ago, this was where I had to consult a walkthrough. This level was kind of confusing to me.

After watching your whole playthrough of Aldwych station 🚉 it was good to watch you enjoying this level with minum stress😂and I noticed you didn't swear as much 🤣but it is funny when you do I am looking forward to watching your next playthrough of Lud’s Gate as you mentioned at the end of your video you are not looking forward to that level and think you said it was your lest favourite and it's very difficult. Yes I can completely agree with you 💯 I don't like Lud’s Gate it got me stressed and swearing 🤣 because it s so annoying and difficult so yeah looking forward to hearing your commentary reaction s ❤😊

I think all the tubes still drive through the closed stations to get to the next ones, so I’d say these are just the normal tube trains going by 🥰

This and Luds gate I always liked despite being universally disliked, but yeah Thames wharf is terrible

London gets so much hate, but I actually love Aldwych (with the much more forgiving PC save anywhere system in the remasters). I found myself overlooking how convoluted and buggy it was because of the atmosphere. Proof positive that anywhere can feel like a tomb under the right circumstances.
Totally agree! Atmosphere is great, it does feel like an eerie tomb 🥰
