    Ty so much! I started my curly journey in 2021. I learned that glycerine is a not for my hair because our dew points are in the low 70's for about 6 months of the year and it frizzes my hair out. My favorite gels are Twist from Ouidad Weather Me Up Gel & Treluxe. I just tried AG hair re Coil and it is amazing. I want to try the Curl Keeper Leave In. My hair loves a good protein leave in. Ty for mentioning it. Love your channel! Blessings!

    Completely agree with your picks! I haven't tried curl keeper, so will definitely have to check it out. My favorite combo is mixing curlsmith air dry cream and protein cream and then adding on the hydro flexi jelly or the ouidad strong hold gel.

    Thank you for that lovely video ! Turns out I love quite a few of the same products and probably need to try some from categories I don't have anything in yet !
    Interestingly, I actually love the scalp first step but tend to wash it out with another shampoo before using the scalp treatment conditioner. Especially with roots freshly bleached and colored hair, I like having a shampoo specifically for color but also being able to put conditioner on my roots because my hair is damaged there and need all the extra moisture it can get.
    You categories are great and thanks for breaking down the difference of products that you like from the same category ! Have a great start to 2022 !

    I’m so happy I came across your account tonight ! You mentioned you had a daughter … is her hair curly too? I’d love to know the steps you follow when doing her hair. My daughter is 5 and she has beautiful curly hair but we’re still trying to figure out the best steps for us. We’ve an issue with matting, do you have my tips on avoiding this as I’d love to give her beautiful curls the credit they deserve. xx

      Hi!! So glad you are here 😃 my youngest daughter is a curly, she’s 4 😃 one of the best tips I could give you is get her a satin pillowcase and put her hair in a high ponytail using a spiral hair tie for sleeping. Since doing that with Elodie it has made a massive difference! I am planning a washday video with her soon too if she will cooperate 😅

    Thanks for the video, excited to try more of the products. I’m really new to this and my main issue is my hair gets greasy after a day. Is that normal when starting out or just down to hair type do you think?

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  2 года назад +1

      It can definitely be part of the transition period and may sort itself out. And it’s also true that some hair is naturally oilier than others. The hair dance dry shampoo could help too

      @@MarisasCurls oh how I hope you can try it!! It is my favorite foam hands down! I have tried many foams (Innersense, Curlsmith, Mielle, etc. I also have the new Inahsi foam on the way to try out,) but Flora and Curl is so lovely. I feel like it gives some good grit and plumps up my hair strands. I love to layer it with Treluxe Hi! Definition gel. I am a mega product junkie 😅 and love trying all of the things. I tried those 3 Curlsmith styling products recently and was left was badly clogged up hair that had to be washed straightout again. It was utterly beyond salvage! I use a quite modest amount of all stylers, so I'd be surprised if I'd overdone it, but you said CS is very concentrated, so I'll try halving the amounts next time I'm brave enough. ;) I find harder hold gels do tend to clog me up rather....

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  2 года назад +1

      Oh what a shame! If I use all three I use such a small amount of each but then again everyone’s hair is different. I hope you can get them to work for you

    • @LibbyRoseEmbroidery
      @LibbyRoseEmbroidery 2 года назад

      @@MarisasCurls From seeing the amounts used in one of your vids, I would say I use a microscopic amount, especially of cream. Maybe hard hold gels have an ingredient that doesn't sit well in my mop. (Insert shrugging emoji here!!!) :)

      @@MarisasCurls I just watched another lady's vid and she showed how much cream and gel she used. Just less cream than me for longer hair and the merest blob of gel each side. I'm going to try again!

    I love the Curlsmith creams, bond curl and the multitasking conditioner. I have been unable so far to get the gels to perform. Of course the have a new line and I am like maybe that gel will be the one. I kind of wish they had the shine line with protein in it, my hair loves protein.
    I have not tried curl keeper but will have to wait as I have way too many products.
    I looked for the Umberto refresh spray but I don't think it is available in Canada.

    Great video! I'm already using a lot of the products due to your recommendations. I went to shop for the Umberto Curl Jelly Refresh spray and it's not available on the US site. Have they given you any Info on this? If not, are there any other spray refreshers you like? I definitely need something to refresh in-between wash days.

    I love the curlsmith detox and the weightless air dry cream with hydro style flexi jelly for wintertime with very low dew points! In the spring, I love curl keeper original and gel. Can't wait for the dew point to go up so I can start using them again :) I'd like to try the curl keeper leave in next, probably without any other protein products to start with, to see how much protein my hair wants. Do you have any recommendation for conditioners similar to the noughty to the rescue, but without coconut oil? :) My hair doesn't like coconut oil, so I try my best to avoid that.

    Do you mind if I ask,
    what porosity is your hair? would it change when your hair gets healthier?

    • @MarisasCurls
      @MarisasCurls  2 года назад

      Hi. It’s definitely possible for your porosity to change. Typically damaged hair is high porosity and healthier hair is lower porosity. I don’t think my hair is particularly low porosity, I feel like it’s medium to high. But it’s hard to know for sure without looking at it under a microscope 😃 the typical tests of porosity aren’t necessarily very accurate
