- A day in the life, living off-grid in Alaska. Chopping firewood, fly fishing, cooking, cleaning and building a cabin. This is life alone in the solitude of the woods and all the chores that go with it. Plus a delicious fresh salmon catch and cook dinner.

Great video and awesome banjo skills!
Thanks 🤘
Good stuff! The color of that fillet was amazing. Bet it was delicious.
They don’t call em “reds” for nothing. And yes, it was truly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Thanks for watching
Just found this channel love it !
I enjoyed your vid, thanks Matt!
I alredy noticed you like to tidy your space before you start doing anything. I always claim, mess around me creates the mess in my mind and no need to say that I don't want to waste my time( and my life😊) going around looking for my stuff!
Cheers 👍💙
Yup, cleanliness is good for the mind. Thanks for watching
❤❤❤❤❤❤
That'll do haha!
🙌
You're not alone. You have beautiful Norman. You have each other.
Love the banjo!! Just found out you play! Loved your wife and sister!!
Where did get the Dutch oven with that lid ?😍
I just discovered your channel. Very relaxing watching your video. Thank you so much for sharing! ( where did you find that kindling splitter?!!!!)
Thanks and welcome! I found it on Amazon.
What's that pasta dish you made?
More!!!
More on the way 🫡
Really enjoy your videos and your small cabin! It was fun to watch you build the bunkhouse. Do you live there full time? We have property in Fairbanks and are hoping to build a 20x24 cabin. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome thanks! Good luck on the new cabin, we also have another cabin on the Kenai.
Nice! Oh and I grew up on Whidbey Island (close to Olympia). Keep the videos coming!@@alaskacabinadventures
Awesome vid! Curious what were you treating the logs with (time stamp was about 3 mins left). Thanks!
Yup Drooling all over my phone
What all did you put on top of the fish? Looked delicious!
Matt, consider getting a cat to keep your pup company. Love the videos. Wondering what you seal the stripped logs with...with the brush
..
Check out enough of my videos and you’ll meet our kitty, her name is Wesley and she gets along with Norman very well. She doesn’t make too many appearances though.

New subscriber here..
When can I come visit 😂😂
How do you deal with all the mosquitoes?
Butter sausage mmm
AK has at least 35 species of mosquitoes
And they all live at my cabin 😂
@@alaskacabinadventureshahahaha! I feel for you Matt! My mosquitos think they're my pets, always stay by my side, they just love me and my O+ blood type! 😂
I’m sure you dog would have loved one of those sausages. As soon as I get tongs from the draw my our dog knows a bbq is on and he follows you to the bbq to check your cooking something as he always ends up with a sausage once they cool. I am sure he could eat 10 at once 😄🐕🦺well done on the fly fishing. Meal looked excellent.
Wow…. You have mosquitoes!!!!
Those little devils are all around the World…
And they all suck
Interesting to follow you! Do you have a generator for the electrical stuff.
Yes, I have lots of other videos on my electric setup which include a Yamaha 2000watt generator and a EcoFlow delta 2 plus solar panel. Thanks for watching!
Always enjoy your videos. If I may ask how do you make a living
I’m a musician…making videos isn’t hurting either. Thanks for watching!
Have been waiting on a new video thanks for the updates on your life ❤ always great to watch new videos from you
Thanks! Big building video coming soon.
@@alaskacabinadventures Awesome can't wait thank you 💜💚
Just found and trying to catch up! Not getting a thing done today😢
Ist of all you need an Old fashioned Scythe to cut all that grass the Mosquitos live in. 2nd of all Norman looks happy. 3Rd the Fishing and Dinner were the Absolute Best.
Thank you for all 3!!
More videos, please,
🫡
You know you can use salt to clean you frying pan it work great
Great thanks!
used to play a 4 string banjo, what kind of head do you use?
Cool! It’s a Pisqah head, not sure the specs about it, just got that banjo a couple weeks ago.
Hello! I love your channel!!!! May I ask how do you wash your clothes? Have you considered natural plants to ward off mosquitoes or would that not help? I see where you grabbed your food.. is that a cooler? thank you
Love the music
Thank you! Releasing a soundtrack album soon
The song at the end was the icing on the cake
Thanks!! Glad you liked it, we’ll be releasing that song and others soon!
I'm sure You Tube will notify you that there's not enough drama to trigger today's algorithms . (Add in some Bear attacks, dude, we found a dead fly fisherman, we got his Sage rod and tackle , yay, woo-hoo, etc.) And you guys walk down to the river? Jeez. Hey I have Q. What to watch out for with guitars , stored mostly in the cabins. I play too, I know the protocols of moisture regulation and hard case storage, but I'm curious on when the temps in the cabin might dip below 55 if you don't have the propane going. (My other Yamaha finally exploded years back, but that was after a bunch of campfires and being lugged in a cheap case in a hot minivan. So I deserved that.)
Great question! Yes cold temps and low humidity can be bad. Anything below 35 percent humidity isn’t great, but not too bad until you get to like 25 percent and below. It can get down to 12 percent humidity here in the winter and I’ve had guitars just play AWFUL durning those spells. My cabin weirdly doesn’t get too dry, probably cause I keep water on the stove as a humidifier. But the trick is, if your guitar gets really cold. Warm it up slowly, like keep it in the case for a few hours at the new temp. Don’t just open it up after it’s been freezing. Some guitars just keep on keeping on, others get badly deformed. Good luck!
inspiring. If you like, play one of my songs for the dog
Lucky sox?
Exactly! Lucky fish socks
Why not sink a well and pump the water into the cabin?
One day! But pipes freezing is always the concern.
I seen him eat, what about the dog
Yeah he eats too, I feed him high quality dog food 3 times a day, treats and nibbles of whatever I’m having. Not every video has everything that happens in a day.
Ye pasta to dry
Thanks for letting me know, I didn’t even notice!
Will you marry me! A man who cooks and clèans! Kidding enjoy!
Why didn't you feed your doggo?😮😢
Ugh, I did, three times a day with high quality dog food. I just didn’t put that in the video. I also didn’t film myself using the bathroom but I did that 😂
@@alaskacabinadventures just messing with you. I just thought when you said ASMR that we would see your doggo joining in😊
Alone? Fishing buddy, gas and electricity? Must have some Internet as well to upload videos. Yup, you have it rough alright. 😮
Electric from solar and generator, internet from these things called satellites and cell phone. I never said I have it rough, on the contrary I have it just short of perfect.
Seems like y’all could pay a bit more attention to your dog
I’ll agree this video makes it seem that way, but in reality our whole world revolves around him.
Why wouldn’t you take your poor dog with you ?
“Who knew a musician could do productive stuff”….says everyone of your non musicians buddies….
WHERE'S YUOR WIFE AT
She’s wasn’t here that day. Thanks for watching
I don't like the guy,so I will move on🍻
Buh bye 👋
Looks like you made yourself a hearty breakfast. Didnt even acknowledge your starving dog! You are definitely not a good pet owner! This dog is malnourished badly.
Actually my dog gets high quality dog food 3 times and and endless treats, he’s a the perfect weight, according to actually veterinarians. Fat dogs end up with leg and joint problems when they are as tall as Norm, thanks for your concern though.
