- Mark Manson is a self-help author and blogger. He joins Tom Segura to discuss his books "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck," "Models: Attract Women Through Honesty," and "Everything Is Fucked." Mark talks about his approach to writing self-help for people that don't like self-help, how he dealt with feelings of despair after the success of "Subtle Art," his beliefs about social media, and what it's like working with Will Smith, whose memoir he's currently in the process of co-authoring.

Tom has become one of the best interviewers in current time.
Imagine if Bert tried to interview this guy. Oh god
He is chilled and open which makes for great conversation - and Mark is a smart and nice guy too
That Will Smith book is gonna be a real slapper

This podcast had helped me get out of a mental rut that I had been stuck in for the last couple of weeks. Thank you Tom and keep feathering it brother 🤙

Thanks for another great episode TOM!
Tim is such a good host and getting answers out of them because he isn't obviously used to doing interviews but Tim puts them at ease.

C'mon Mark, tell me that you love me!
Loved all of your books mark
Tom got so excited when Mark mentioned Starbucks
Man this guys books helped me threw my sobriety. Half in a grave, almost immovable. My sis dropped those books on me an it helped my mental. Now years after the fact I still remember them.
@willmartinez what book is your favorite as far as for addicts or alcoholics?
@@seraphinachantel8611 also curious about this answer, my dad is struggling with alcoholism & idk how to help him.

Awesome episode!
Dream guest that I didn’t know I wanted. Thanks Tom!
Great chat. Agreed, I hate “used car salesman” type energy
Your not hard on the eyes, and I like your personality.

Gotta love when 2 big interest in life collaborate!
So good, man! Thank you!
This needed to be longer
Oh goody. I am huge fan of Mark and Tom!
Great interview and some very thoughtful and probing questions. Good job.
Mark's the GOAT. Models changed my life.
I’m reading it right now and it’s definitely given me a lot of changes to work on. Great book
That's the thing I've recognized... Getting stuck on what was. In the past. Not being able to adjust
That was so enjoyable!
Omfg didnt expect this, awesome guest and im sure this is 10/10 before even listening.. Thank you tom
"[On social media] There's a silent majority of people mostly in the middle..."... his writing is how he talks for real. This was a very cool listen!
what a sick talk i enjoyed that a lot
I read the Four Agreements while doing a stint in rehab and I really like the authors books. OG Mandino is another amazing author about this stuff.
Lmao that is a great pic
30:43 I love this in relation to depression and/or work burnout as well. (If your pants were low and loose in the past you know you can pull them up high and tight again, you've done it before!👖)
Thanks TOM
🙌🙌🙌🙌 jeez right!
DUDE THANKS FOR USING MY NEW SONG IN YOUR VIDEO TOM! FUCKING LOVE YOU MY GUY
I found that subtle fuck book at goodwill and started it. This reminder to finishing it has been a gift. Great convo bra. Thank You

Great Chat!
Thanks Tom your Solid as fudge
This whole "Be honest with your words" revelation is some real Coastal District 1 shit.
I read Mark Ronson first and got hyped
This man is brutally honest 😅 💯
I completely zoned out 5 minutes into this.
ha, I used to ride the bus with Mark in middle school. If I recall, he's quite a good guitar player
Can confirm
Love finding facts like this! Thank you.
I was so wishing Mark would connect the social media thing with the snipping coupons old lady.
I know Mark longer than Tom, what a surprise and a interesting talk, love this.
Models changed my life.
"Wisdom is accumulated via fuck-ups" is a good formulation
Does anyone know the name of the instrumental from the podcast version?
This was a great surprise today. Models was a great book and one of the few to make me cry with hope by the end of it.
Tom is really good at self reflection. Even tho he farts out of his ass. Love this interview. ☺️
"Thanks Tom"
What a great guest! Picked up "Subtle Art" years ago as a high schooler and it pretty much changed how I approached my whole life.
I'm certainly going to research the 90-9-1 rule
I really wanna know how mark looks and sounds so humble?
“Toooommm”- Mike Tyson
Found you Tom! - from Carl’s Jr.
Tom, the comments you are talking about. It's the same ppl who used to write letters into you local TV station. Remember those?! They'd come out and say, "after a few letters from viewers, we regret the comment we made on Tuesday about ...."
Would love to see a Tom talks with J B Mauney
When’s the next drop son!?
Dope, Tom. Endlessly surprised at how you curate what you put out there.
HI CHRIS-TEENA!
Coming up in May in 4 Strokes,
Love
I missed this so much last week. For real 😅 I was worried for a minute
He rotates between this and the Spanish podcast.
Ok, you come (on the podcast) now.
Fucking amazing.
Mark dont be stingy...
I think it would be cool to reach out to jaryd lazar for an interview
There’s one other book that women buy for men that I know of and I’ve read countless times and it’s called “How To Be A 3% Man” By Corey Wayne.
I read subtle art…, models, and everything all 3 in a row and while subtle is his most famous models helped me so much in my entire life as a whole. It changed me as a person and fits so well with my personality and who I am! Read models! I now date multiple women who all know about each other all because I was honest about who I am and what I want. READ MODELS!!!
touch my camera through the fence
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Anyone make a "you know what's funny" count on Mark Manson? I stopped counting at 3 in the first 10 minutes.
I always felt, ever since the beginning of my history with womanz, that these "the game" guys sucked balls. Also its fun to hear Tom say how he was clueless and insecure. Sometimes looking back my behavior was sometimes borderline predatory, and im not saying its "ok", but I was absolutely desperate for sexual experience, .... In my naive young mind this was the most important skill to acquire :D :D :D So I spent a couple of years just doing everything I could to get to the fun stuff. Absolutely clueless about what I wanted, needed and what I was doing. I hurt a lot of people in that process.
I really think we tend to forget when judging high school kids, that they are kids - they are completely new to the "grown up" world,.... And so their behavior will seem fucked at times, but they dont even know themselves what they are doing. They dont even know yet who they want to be. They dont know how to be who they want to be either ...
Seems like abit of a Cool Guy...
I mean... that neck hair puts ol'Timmy in a category from now on, that's for sure...
His IG is the best out there
Tom Talks - Ep19 "The funny thing is"

Tom invite Mark Blyth on your show.
Okay loved the whole interview, but the will smith part made me wowwwwwww.
This is like a far more coherent version of 2B1C.
Touch my Models through the fence Tom.
Mark 'It's funny how' Manson
To this day I still use the fuck yes / fuck no way of living
RIP TOP DOG
57:23
Give us the wisdom, cmon mark, don't be stingy
That's my hole, that's where it spits
Could Tom Talks be > than YHM? Tom has fantastic interviewing skills. It’s nice to hear an intelligent convo & not dumb shit thrown in by dumb people as well!
Agreed! I don't know if it's better, but the balance of the two is really refreshing!
The subtle art of Tim being the absolute f*cking man with Tom Talks
