    30 quid !!!! Sign me up 😂😂
    But seriously, for a player who plays once a week and goes though 4-6 cheap balls a round these are probably a great option. It’s still half the price of the cheapest wedge on the market considering that
    Here in the U. S. a new vokey sells for $190.00 usd …4 wedges = $760. But 4 fakes = $150 Do you think there is $610 of performance difference to a weekend warrior ?

  • @Pud56

    problem is when someone sells them on a resale site having used them a couple of times, they then enter the system as real.

  • @thejoker7323

    Nice one Gaz. One way to look at it is that they aren’t scammers, they’re actually offering a budget solution for most recreational golfers. What it does prove though is that Titleist are having our pants down on the RRP.

    • @garymartingolf
      @garymartingolf  5 месяцев назад +8

      The issue is, this isn’t a Titleist, take the branding off it and no offence to fazer, ram etc, but you’ve got a budget wedge, if not, worse than a budget wedge as it damages balls and the quality built tolerances aren’t great.
      The next stage is to text on the course with fake vrs real, and fake vs budget, I’m just building up to it.
      I need some irons, driver and putter now 😅

    • @thejoker7323

      Gaz, most golfers can’t go 3 holes without losing a ball or bouncing it along a cart path anyway so scuffs don’t matter 😂

      Titleist Vokeys are not expensive if you buy the older version new, if that makes sense. Sm8’s are as low as £70 new, so good value.

      Its a fake coy of a popular brand, that makes them scammers, if they won’t yo be honest just make a club with their own branding and advertise it as a budget club copied off the Vokey design

  • @CamMacMastermusic

    *****Suggestions to consider ******
    1) Bend test
    2) Try a couple different balls like the AD333 Q-Star Tour Divide and the Callaway Warbird.
    3) Bunker test
    4) Green side chipping
    5) Buy 2 more of those wedges and test for consistency
    6) how did it feel ? You never really addressed the feel (which after watching you since day 1 )
    ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    on the surface, I'd say that with a Vokey or other "name brand" you are paying for the product, and also for the engineering /research/development it took to make the final product (oh yeah, and a bit for marketing too). With a copy, you are only paying for the cost of manufacturing. The manufacturer of the copy does not have to figure out that they need to use 430 carbon steel, or which grind works best, That is all done by the name-brand guys, for a quality copy all they need is to use the same specs, or close and pump them out. if they are less concerned with matching the original specs, and they only care about the look of the copy (which is the case many times) its even easier for them. of course, there are other issues surrounding copies, including legal, ethical.....

    • @garymartingolf
      @garymartingolf  5 месяцев назад +5

      Some great points. I would also add that a lot of quality engineering goes into making a golf club, far more than what can be seen on the surface and real products are manufactured to a lot higher standard as they have tighter tolerances on quality.

    To be fair, there is not much difference in the distance held as you can see they are still going the same as you want them to but with the spin difference. Unless you do a robot test nothing can be certain, as human error always plays a factor.
    Looking at your full swing data of the fake wedge for the first shot, is clear that when you changed wedge there might have been some change in your situation causing the strike to be at the 4000s for spin. And therefore the average spin rate went down to the 7000s, other wise it would have been in the 8s which is a better data set to compare.

    Yet another great vlog👍 Sam and yourself really have found a gap in golf content and are covering it well.
    Some very good points raised. Two points that I was really interested in was overall weight of club and that grooves are not milled to correct spec. From your dada it appears some golfers may gain some initial, advantage around the green. What I am interested in is to know how long the groove’s will last against the genuine club. I assume the fake club will break down after a hand full of rounds and create inconsistent back spin in the end, leaving the golfer frustrated 😩
    Cheers
