I don't know about Taylormade chasing Kirkland in court, they have far more reason to chase Aliexpress as these would cause more damage to the Taylormade brand than Kirkland would.
I don’t fully understand the legalities, but I’m sure if Taylormade felt they could get a successful outcome, they most likely would.
China can be a law unto itself, worked for a company that sourced custom manufactured parts from China. The stories he told when looking at working with new companies, he could visit same site twice different company names, supposedly different owners etc.
I play regularly with an old Ryder cup captain, he said to me in the early 2000’s he had visited a factory in China in that made clubs for most of the major manufacturers, he forecast a disaster waiting to happen. He was confident that copies and end of line run offs would find their way onto the market. He had raised this with his club sponsor, they said they were monitoring things, but to compete that had to use Chinese manufacturers as the cost was so low. Trouble is, copy-writes are not recognised in China, faking is a national business. Look at electric cars, the manufactured most of the major brands, now within a few years, they make more of their own brands and are flooding the west with cheap subsidised product. Golf club manufacturers are clearly making enough money to risk Chinese manufacturer, but watch this space for a mega Chinese brand any day soon
@@Pud56 heard very similar horror stories about how China works. Companies setting up factories and next door another factory gets built and it is making the same products ultimately screwing original
Plant.
Good to see some companies and countries bringing manufacturing back from China
They are both made in China, which one is a $1000 dollars better?
New 'fake' clubs coming in bag Gary🤔🤔🤔...for someone starting off or even someone with a slower swing speed could be ideal... what would be interesting is how long the finish lasts before putting starts....
🌟🎊🤩🥳
I mean, based on this testing and Rob not knowing, I’d now agree, ideal first set, however, longevity, is definitely going to be an issue. You can’t expect them to last, but neither would any set of irons under £200
This show that the genuine article is the true rip off
With those results you’ll be getting offers for them soon! Or they could ask you to be UK distributor.
I’d end up behind bars 😄😂 It’s illegal to sell fake equipment, it’s just not illegal to buy it.
You've just got to admit it, you can't manage a stiff shaft. 😉
I’m more than happy to admit that I don’t like stiff shafts 😂
Another great show, i think you and Mr short game are great for us regular guys with true honest reviews with good advice , keep them coming mate.
Thanks Paul. If you say honest and true, it’s got to pay off eventually, that’s what I’m hoping anyway 😀
Could you build a good set with these heads? With steel shafts cut to the proper length, would the swing weights have been closer to good and how would they hit? Just a thought from an amateur club builder.
It’s exactly ours too, and that’s going to be the final video, the next one where we build it the same as a real p770 and go head to head, fake vs real (matching shafts, specs) 😮💨😮💨
I love how Sam has the confidence to stand in front of you while you hit, but the second you pick up that pitching wedge.......GONE🤣🤣
Hahahaha lol 😂 😆😆😆
I didn’t realise how important swing weight was before I got fitted with Sam. I am the one who he fit for a light swing weight and the results were staggering for me. It’s your fault Gary for making me spend all my money with Sam😂. Thank you
I didn’t either, that’s why I never stop talking about it, but until you’ve tested it yourself, it’s hard to believe how much difference it can make to fine tuning. Glad you’re happy 👌🏼
Definitely looking forward to the re shafting video 👍👍
Interesting info, but I can’t think of any way I’d support thieves.
I bought the 790,s phantoms in black 4 to sw with KBS stiff graphite shafts for 253.00 6 months ago and they seem fantastic. Not had them checked loft and lie and only used at the range. Shafts are stiff not like yours. At the same time I bought a TM Stealth 2 driver with Tensei tm50 stiff flex for 119.00. The shaft on that is like your 770 pw so shafts play a big gamble on these selling sites. Because I had to wait over a month for the driver, I bought a genuine Stealth 2+ and put a Ventus tr 5s shaft in. Hit balls at range with genuine club then swapped heads and the difference was minimal to me.
Really! You’re not local are you? Wouldn’t mind trying that fake head vs real 😂 how much did it cost ?
I'm Gloucester based. Are you talking about the driver.? I know not long after I purchased it they stopped selling them due to copyright infringement. They either delete the name or call it something else to get away with selling them. Not looked at Ali express for a while
@@richardprosser5026 I’ll have a gander. Thanks pal 👌🏼
Looks like they are calling them tour edge. Driver and irons
@@richardprosser5026Did you buy the black ones from Temu? I keep seeing them, look identical to the 2021 p790s but in black with green logos.
Just get good shafts and still cheaper then real irons
We’re going to see what happens, very soon 👌🏼
Main brands have to do the RnD on products , advertising, sponsorship, support and backup . BUT I do think there is an element of price gouging going on. They could sell the equipment cheaper but why would they, it’s like anything equestrian the market has money and they want it. For those not fortunate to be able to pay for fitting and £1500 iron sets then I can see the attraction and the results certainly suggest it’ll be better value . But without the RND there wouldn’t be sets like this.
Does this lead us to conclude that all the promotional guff about designed with AI, optimised face design for maximum impact and ball speed off the face etc is BS?
Are you thinking of cutting one apart to see any internal differences?
Really looking forward to the reshafted testing of these.
Potentially. I could do this once the p770 range goes none current and we don’t need our demo. The final full video will be the 7 iron head to head with matching specs and identical shaft , grip , so it’s purely fake vs real head.
What would the cost be to refit with reasonable real shafts? I believe Apollo or FST would be contenders in steel. Not sure with a graphite, but there must be something playable on a budget?
I bet you could get some used pulled steel for 30-50, so under £100 fitted with budget grips.
It’s going to be interesting when it’s a real head to head, all matching specs
All the irons looked spot on for length , I mean come on fellas Bryson uses one length irons, so an 8th will not make any difference at all !
He doesn’t any more. He uses combo length now.
@@andybt3989 Wrong, his wedge to 5 iron are all 1 length ! Look at his what’s in the bag video for 2024 !
@@steveputland4324Wrong! When Bryson posted his most recent update, he was using Ping i230 irons, but shortly after, that changed to irons from a brand called Avoda. These irons are a mixed length set, but they’re far from conventional. The short irons are the same length as a standard 8-iron, while the longer irons are variable length, but shorter than you would expect from a traditional set of clubs.
@@steveputland4324 that video is already out of date!
@@andybt3989 you’re actually supporting what I was saying without even realising it !
Good stuff. 👍 Looking foreword to the shaft change results.
I can’t even call what’s going to happen lol 😂
As you know most all heads are made in China. So no problem, for them to use the same mold..also Taylormade and the other 3 big ones have to pay for their marketing which is in the millions. Unless you are a professional golfer, you really have no clue about the difference in strike..change the shafts and I think you will be pleasantly surprised..funny how the masses will pay exorbitant prices for a name, just to have it in their bag. We have been brainwashed into thinking more dollars equals better product..What did Roger Daltrey say..We won't get fooled again😂
Hi. You should do a video on graphite shafts for irons from Aliexpress. They have some KBS PGI graphite shaft 0.37 parallel fakes. Are they any good? Would get a lot of views I imagine. Best regards, Alex
All I'm hearing through this is that major golf club manufacturers are passing their excessive expenses on to the customer instead of trying to make the clubs more reasonably priced. Nobody would buy imitation clubs if the real thing were affordable
Really interesting great video boss dibs on the mini driver if it comes up for sale 😘
😆 I’ve got a 300 series for sale 11.5 regular
Cool vlog, just thinking there might still be inconsisities and durability issues with the fake heads even with good shafts.
I've had that same problem with the TP5x balls, started using the bridgestone tour b ball, waiting for your next golf ball deal 😉👍
An I never said Taylormade..... oops 😂
This is why I choose Mizuno. I already know the only thing that matters for distance is basically loft thats why I prioritize feel and forgiveness. Play a modern shaft and ball with a 100 year old iron head and youll likely see the same yardages with similar lofted clubs of today.
Should of put a regular shaft in the PXG
Taylor made isn’t gonna like you 2 😂 fake clubs and bodgie balls
Yeah but you should have hit the knock off wedge with the new ball. So not a proper comparison..😮
A friend of mine bought a set of clone T200's and the shaft flex was softer than a L flex. He asked me to check into reshafting since he liked the heads. I noticed that the shafts are .395, not .370 or .355
Brilliant video again mate. Really interesting. Going to give it a few shares
Thanks Adam 👌🏼
Interesting content, well. done. I guess if you were on a real budget, just test them all and reshaft the PW? Playable set for peanuts 🥜 for the social player
AliExpress golf gears are great for my pocket😄How deep is your pocket?
It's showing us how much were paying for branding.. you can buy head only and pay for shafts still cheaper then a set of top flite
Fascinating! Even I noticed the PW was a bit weird!! Lol
You did lol
If they stuck a different brand name on there and just sold the heads for $150 they’d be a good deal.
I’ve had new sets of taylormade and Pxg irons sent 2 to 7 swing weights out. And loft 3 degrees off
Great video Gaz and I’m really looking forward to seeing the 7 iron re-shafted, keep up the awesome work
We've gotta see those heads in your gamer shafts for a test!
do mizunos next
I will try to get hold of some more.
Don't know how James keeps beating you. Apparently you can hit any club of any quality down the middle...
He doesn’t, if you watch both channels, I’ve won 80% of our matches this year.
@@garymartingolf Don't tell Him that for god's sake.
Really interesting vid Gaz & Sam. I wouldnt expect Taylormade or PXG will be too happy! Looking forward to the shaft video.
Aslong as you’re happy, that’s all that I’m bothered about 👍🏼
@@garymartingolf Awwwww
Seriously, I’d like to see a blind fold test to see if you fellas would even pick the correct weight irons ! I’m guessing not a snowballs chance in hell ! 🤣
We’ve done a swing weight blind test on the channel before. You tell between the heaviest and lightest in the set, but yeah, the ones that are one or two points out you wouldn’t notice. Wait for the conclusion lol, we’re only here to share the findings, don’t shoot the messenger 😂
@@garymartingolf 🤣👍
That was awkward 😬 😂
Well done gaz 😊
You don’t miss a video Roy, I could post at 1am and you’d be there 😃😅
I bought the TaylorMade P7TW from AliExpress and have been playing them for 2 months. All I can say is that I like them, even if they are fake they seem to fit my swing really well. As long as the feel is there, the price tag dosent matter.
Looking forward for a reshafting video :)
I’m booked in to see him on 30th, where we’ll be filming it 👌🏼
@@garymartingolfThey have a site that you can pick your 5 different top shafts grips and length for b$299 tyd
Gary. You need to stop looking at fakes, they undermine the legitimate golf industry. I’m surprised that the major brands have not written a desist letter.
Ricks got 5m views on one fake club video, have a word with him lol ruclips.net/video/L0ESR610dcA/видео.htmlsi=eLW9DGUREv_hADTu
These are junk, even the heads. Nobody should be buying these and thinking they are getting a deal.
Most sets of irons under £200 are junk in my opinion.
How much money have I spunked ffs 🫠☠️
You can’t beat the feeling of the quality of real product 👌🏼
