Good for you! Those of us with textured hair are taught that it is too wild to wear natural to special or formal events. This is categorically false. All the compliments you received proves this. I have a few recommendations. Heat is ok to use on your hair, especially while diffusing. Blow dryer heat is indirect heat so it will not damage as flat irons would. Just make sure not to focus the heat in one spot for too long, AND consider adding a light product that has heat protectant (but not silicone) in it. Putting volumizing powder and styling putty in your hair while it is wet defeats their purpose. You want to diffuse your hair with the mousse until it is completely dry, then you can use the putty and volumizing powder on dry hair. They will work better, you will use less, and you will find that you don't have to re-apply the mousse when your hair is dry. Focus the volumizing powder more on the roots, and focus the putty more near the ends of the hair. This will lock in the style much better. Now to use your phrase about putting man cards away, I have two suggestions that will make it look even better if you don't mind a bit of extra work, even if you save it only for special occasions. The first is hover diffusing, where instead of placing the dryer to your head, you hover it a few inches from your head and keep it moving (works best with heat). Once the hair is dried it retains the waves in their perfect shape, and then you add the other styling products and fluff it out. The second is brush curling. You use a 7 or 9 row nylon brush to brush out sections of the hair while it's wet after you have applied the mousse. This pulls all of the curls and waves together in clumps. Then when you hover diffuse you get perfect volume, style, and definition. On short hair, this only adds another 2 minutes to the process. Search for brush styling waves and hover diffusing on youtube or tiktok and instructional videos will pop up. You have a gorgeous natural wave and head of hair 🙂
I would use an old t-shirt to gently squeeze the excess water out of your hair - it minimizes frizz, whereas a normal towel increases frizz. My early teen (he's using a Man Card Learner's Permit so he still allows my help) has 3a fine hair and Verb's Ghost Air Dry Whip is usually enough for the maximum time allowance for styling (about 3 minutes). I'm going to buy Harry's Pomade and see if it helps the hold last longer, though I don't see him using a blow drier - that's like driving on the freeway, it takes time. Thanks for the tip!
Man card learners permit 😂😂😂 that made me laugh my ass off. Good tip on the t-shirt! I’ll try that out. He definitely doesn’t need to use a blow dryer if he doesn’t want to (I get it lol I never really do unless it’s winter and freezing outside.) air drying with that stuff in should work fine 🙏🏼🙏🏼
hey, just wanted to say i appreciate the effort you put into these videos and the time that you put into replying to comments too. was wondering how important you think haircuts are? or do you think it's more important to just get your hair to the right length & treat it right
Appreciate the love my friend ! I don’t really get my hair cut too often these days, just a clean up if anything. I think it’s more important to get it to a place you like and then just take care of it from there
My dude. I had long curly hair for 5 years and yesterday I cut it to approximately your length. I have been STRESSED ever since, until I saw this video. I have all the tools. I won't fuck this up. Let's go.
I’m going to take a guess and hopefully someone will correct me if I’m wrong. Are you talking about that it flattens out when it drys? If so I think it’s because there is not enough moisture being retained in your hair. And that’s why he said to use the water based pomades. There is a balance between being wet and having a moisturising product.
Don’t go to a barber, go to a hairdresser. Ask for a medium length layered haircut (commonly referred to as a Flow cut). Barbers are terrible with layering hair, and that’s what you need.
I loved your video! LOL A little potty mouth going on, but I was laughing! My son (34yrs) is letting his natural curls finally grow out after 3 kids! I am over the moon excited and you remind me of him, so this was fun to watch. His hair is just like yours, and even though he would never do all of that, I might turn him on to "Larry".. LOL Thanks and cheers to you!
Because of you I've learned how to style my hair. Been a while since I've watched that first video and seems like i outgrew you, i can make a mini mustache now, tho my sides are still much shorter and it feels goofy looking at myself sometimes. One thing i hate about my hair is that its too thin and not as dense.
You’re not the first person to out grow me lmao for the record I know the feeling of tryin a new facial hair style out and feelin like a total douche. The good news is the more different styles you rock the more you and everyone else around you will get used to it. No one even says anything to me these days because I change things up so much they’re used to it 😂 For your hair, have you looked into Hims? One of my buddy’s had thinner hair and started using that and it actually thickened up for him. Might be something worth checkin out !
@@MrFrankieJoseph I actually found a way to make my hair look better, but it involves me drying my hair a bit more with towel, then applying hair curling mousse and some pomade right after it. Now at this point the hair on top becomes a bit dry so i have to use a bit water with pomade because its clay based (i bought pomade for the first time in my life months ago and i still need to test with other products). Anyways i swing my head down (almost looking at my crotch 😂) and i apply the pomade. But i dont just leave it there i return every 10-20 mins and i kinda claw my hair starting from forehead, basically i claw my hair backwards and just keep pulling it gently, because if i leave my hair like it is, then some of it almost glues down and doesn't have that volume anymore even when it dries completely. This has helped me so far and i only started recently doing it. As for the hims, this is my first time hearing about it, tho im european so i dont know whats available here but ill make sure to check it out, since i really want my hair to be thicker.

Not sure what part of Europe you’re in but either way, I’m sure there is something out there in your part of the globe that can help thicken up your hair 🙏🏼
@@MrFrankieJoseph I just wanted to help other people, thats why i typed out my routine 😂 "The clawing" works for me, but it requires patience if your hair is less dense or thin. I have to do that 2-3 times at most and some lil fixes if i dont like the way my bangs look like. One important thing is to make sure you dont pancake your hair while doing it. I use my fingernails as well (be gentle and do it slowly). Its very important to change things from time to time, im just glad im always scheming something 😂
Hey there! Could you suggest some hair products for me? My curly hair is really, really dry and frizzy (it actually looks and feels a bit like grass!). Honestly, I haven't cared much about styling or maintaining it until recently (being a teenager, you know?). I haven't found my signature style yet, and I'm currently trying out new things. I'm also growing my hair out, and it's getting really hard to manage and keep clean. Here's the thing: I REALLY WANT healthy-looking hair, just like yours. I love your videos and thought maybe you could offer some advice on how to tame these curls!
Yo man!!! Honestly the best stuff I’ve found so far is the Marc Anthony Curl Enhancing styling foam. It’s a mousse basically but that shit mixed with a little of the pomade is the best I’ve found personally
I can’t believe you choose this life!!! You’re a brave man and i salute you. Happy I can help my friend!! Felt it was time for an update now that my hairs back
I have this fear that I’ll buy these products right, and then I’ll do exactly what you do Frankie (Can I call you Frankie? Are we there yet? Or do you prefer Franklin? Mr. Joseph?) and my hair won’t look nearly as good as yours because my hair hates me and I constantly deal with shit like wirey stringy curls and flat curls. It’s rough out here. Wanted to have a mini rant there because I’m jealous of how good your hair looks but also really appreciate your videos and how genuine and funny you are, hopefully when I do try your techniques it works for me 😅. Also I started watching you when you first made that curly hair video and you’ve been on of my fav content creators ever since, can’t wait to see your channel blow up
Man you have to try. Of course at first it won't look like that (a reason could be you have a different face and it won't look perfectly the same, just as clothes), but practice makes it perfect.
No for sure I have to try it soon and I will. I’m planning on trying after I get a haircut, cause I’m in desperate need of one lol. I got a bad haircut in Jan and I’ve been growing it out ever since to try and revive my curls again and actually have the length to rock them. Buuuuut growing out curly hair is so frustrating it’s not even funny, so hopefully after I get a trim I’ll be satisfied with my hair and be able to try Frankie’s methods
You can call me whatever the hell u want my friend lol!!! I hope some Of the techniques help you out. I’m no expert but I’m figuring a hell of a lot out these days 😂 just don’t use a comb or brush ever lol it should help your hair be less stringy. And I really appreciate the love man!! I’ve been in Italy for 2 weeks so I have a ton of shit to edit 💀
Mine are cursed too bro. Feel you. I tried everything i could get my hands on, few combinations of these. Sometimes they look mega sexy and sometimes im too afraid to go shoping 😂
Man, I love these videos! I do the messy curly slick back daily. I try the product Curls 4 Days by Taraji and Argan oil. Definitely gonna try these other products too.
1. How do you get rid of all this products out of your hair ? 2. Do you oil your hair first and then shampoo to remove the buildup or you just shampoo without oiling your hair ? 3. How often do you apply all this products? Like i am a college /working student it's impossible for me to look good with product everyday i don't want to damage my hair but also want to look good . What to do ?
Yo man!! This stuff i use is all water based products so a quick rinse will wash it all out. I only shampoo once a week because if you shampoo too much your hair gets poofy and dry lol actual hair experts (not my dumbass lmao) actually suggest you only shampoo once a week. I don’t use any oils anymore, just made me look greasy. And personally I use the products every time I’m not wearing a hat (altho I don’t really use the diffuser everyday lol I usually just let my hair air dry)
Agree with both of u 🙏🏼 The curling foam basically is curling cream, for me tho, actual curling cream was too heavy and weighed my hair down so I like the foam mousse stuff better
Hi! I love your videos, because I have the same hairstyle as you. I wanted to know what do you do on windy days if you have bangs with curly hair. Could you make a video?
Honestly the product kinda holds it all together, even in wind. The wind actually helps and makes my hair bigger 😂 I think once you get inside from the wind , if you just get the palm of your hands wet and kinda scrunch it all again, it should just fall back into place
Man, I have a problem. My hair is curly, but it looks ugly, rough and a bit like chia:-) . I don't know how to explain more than that, but I tried all your methods and stopped using shampoo, but the curls are small and do not appear as soft as your hair. Rather, they remain rough to the touch and cannot be controlled, although my hair is soft when it is short, but when it reaches a certain level. It becomes difficult to control. Is there a solution without chemicals or should I accept the situation?
Great question man. I’d say try styling it when it’s still damp, you’ll probably never be able to fully smooth it out without doing some chemical shit but I’m sure you can loosen up the curls if you use pomade and a wide tooth comb when it’s still damp….?
Very funny and very handsome dude. I always was kinda ashamed of my wavy hair because all my friends had slick straight hair so I was the only one with wavy/curly hair but I might try this see what will happen
That’s accurate from what I’ve read ! Think it comes down to technique and getting it out of your face. I’d try to flip your hair outta your face before it dries
OTHER OPTIONS: uppercutdeluxe.com/collections/hair-styling/products/matte-pomade www.americancrew.com/products/defining-paste (havent tried this one yet but hear good things, little wax in this one tho, still water based) cremocompany.com/products/matte-cream Hopefully these help my friend !!
That's basically just grown out curly hair with a little cut off the lower back to prevent a mullet look, maybe a little bit of a trim around the temples too
Do you have a video of your hair cleansing routine? I usually wash out my product with shampoo everyday but I hear it’s not good to wash your hair everyday. So do you leave the product in for days? 😂
Yo my man ! You’ve heard right, I wouldn’t shampoo your hair everyday, once a week is really all you need to do. If you want to condition your hair every 2 or 3 days that’s cool but If you shampoo more than once a week you’re at risk of drying your hair and scalp out. I take a shower every morning (or night) and rinse my hair with only water and start over. The product I use (Harry’s) is a water based pomade so it comes right out and doesn’t leave residue behind 🙏🏼 your hair will look a hell of a lot better too if you shampoo less
I sleep with it in all the time and just rinse it out in the morning and start over. I’ll shampoo my hair once a week and condition every couple days but mostly I’m just rinsing my hair in the shower
Yo man!! Honestly yea I think so. There are days I just let my hair air dry and don’t put anything in it looks great. Curly hair is hard to actually look greasy because it’s already more dry than straight hair so I think you should be good. And if it does look a little Greasy you could just toss some dry shampoo in your hair and should fix that while adding more volume lol
I’ll put the product in everyday if I’m not wearing a hat, and I usually start my day with a shower every mornjng, just to rinse the product from the day before out, but I just use water. I actually wash with shampoo maybe once a week
The more you tame them the thicker they should be. Sometimes try grouping a bunch of hair together and twirling on one of your fingers to make a big spiral of multiple sections of hair, then let that dry. Do that wherever there’s thin wispy hairs and that should help them dry as one bigger curl
Dude yes I’m thinking it’s the haircut. Mine looked like a mushroom too until everything caught up lol your hair should be pretty much the same length the entire way around, slightly longer on top than back and sides but they should all be pretty even
uppercutdeluxe.com/collections/hair-styling/products/matte-pomade www.americancrew.com/products/defining-paste (havent tried this one yet but hear good things, little wax in this one tho, still water based) cremocompany.com/products/matte-cream
Yo, what’s your shower hair routine? Do you mess with your hair in the shower, and how? How do you put in your shampoo, moisturizing shampoo, or deep conditioner during your shower? Let us know how much you use, how long you let it sit, and your schedule for using these products. Thanks, you’re the best! 🫶🏼
@@MrFrankieJoseph so I went barbers and told them I'm growing my hair and just want the borders tidied and shaped and they have tapered and faded it 😂 give up. Doesn't actually look bad but still
I absolutely do. To be honest, with curly hair it’s tough to run your hands through your hair until it’s dry. Let it dry and leave it be after the shower

Need some styles for shoulder length curly hair as well 💯
Cant believe I’ve never seen ur content before. Ur funny 😂
Oh, what a man!!! My heart is fluttering y'all!
A lot of people recommend using a curling cream. Have you tried using one? What even is a curling cream? Do you need it if you use the curling foam?
I would just give it a shot if i were you. Everyone's hair is different, and for me, it worked better than a pomade.
This guy is the funniest. Grown to be in my top 5 channels ngl. 😂 lowkey cant find harrys putty here in australia :(
usuing harry’s everyday wont cause dry hair will it? some products if you overuse your hair will get dru
I got build up After the 3 day in row using it
Do you shampoo everyday to get the product out or just wash it with water
Just wash with water ! Shampoo once a week. Don’t wanna dry ur head iut

Lmfaooo I know one of you out there is going to make me proud saving the city one day
we use the same mousse? omg
I'm getting a haircut this Friday which is the day before my senior prom, Hoping it's not too bad😭
Maaaan !! Can’t go wrong, tell your hair person to cut it mainly with a razor and avoid scissor cutting if possible !! Better for curls
Could I use Shea Moisturizer coconut oil conditioner? Or would it not work as well?
If you wash your hair every morning, how often do you use shampoo or conditioner?
Shampoo once a week, no more or your scalp and hair dries out. Condition as much as u want !!
But also all these products wash out with straight up water. No need to shampoo or conditioner. Take a quick shower and start fresh each morning
@@MrFrankieJoseph yeah alright. problem for me is that my hair gets greasy within a day if i shower without using a shampoo
@@hendrikmorbach8176That’s a shampooing problem
Did you clean up the neckline while growing to this stage?
Very funny and very handsome dude. I always was kinda ashamed of my wavy hair because all my friends had slick straight hair so I was the only one with wavy/curly hair but I might try this see what will happen
Do you have any advice how to achieve Jeremy Allen White's hair? I read he uses sea's water spray, together with diffuser and pomate. Any thoughts?
That’s accurate from what I’ve read ! Think it comes down to technique and getting it out of your face. I’d try to flip your hair outta your face before it dries
Problem!!
I can't get hold of Harry's product in the UK anymore. Any alternatives folks?
Thanks!

(havent tried this one yet but hear good things, little wax in this one tho, still water based) cremocompany.com/products/matte-cream
Hopefully these help my friend !!
Anyone knows an alternative for the Harry's putty?
It's very difficult to get in Europe.
guys with oily curls don’t try it it looks too greasy its crazy, i think it’s because of the pomade, didn’t use harry’s (europe)
That dry shampoo powder I used to help take any of that greasy look out 🙏🏼
What would you say your haircut is called?
That's basically just grown out curly hair with a little cut off the lower back to prevent a mullet look, maybe a little bit of a trim around the temples too
Just get a low or medium taper
DUDE NICE VIDEO AND GREAT HAIR . In the shower , did you used shampoo? if so.... which one?
DrTeals is my go to but shea moisture is great too 🙏🏼🙏🏼 but I only do it once a week. Otherwise my head and hair gets dry and I look like Willy wonka
@@MrFrankieJoseph awesome thanks for that. Also are you washing out with shampoo every time you use the curl enhancer?
Hey how often do you wash your hair. Do I have to wash out the product in the same day?
I sleep with it in all the time and just rinse it out in the morning and start over. I’ll shampoo my hair once a week and condition every couple days but mostly I’m just rinsing my hair in the shower
Do you use shampoo specific for curly hair? Not sure which one to buy, apparently Aussie is pretty good
Anything that doesn’t have sulfates, parabens or silicones should be good for your hair 🙏🏼
@@MrFrankieJoseph legend thank you mate
ANOTHA BANGER MWAH
yo frankie could you do this without product? like rensing the hair every morning or will it be greasy
Yo man!! Honestly yea I think so. There are days I just let my hair air dry and don’t put anything in it looks great. Curly hair is hard to actually look greasy because it’s already more dry than straight hair so I think you should be good. And if it does look a little
Greasy you could just toss some dry shampoo in your hair and should fix that while adding more volume lol
Try ORS olive oil mousse it’s good for curly hair
Hot ass tip!! Thank u. I like the ORS brand I’ll give it a try 🙏🏼🙏🏼
That space balls jam tho 🤣
The Jack Harlow look is the best look, I do it too
I’m like the walmart version
Do you leave products on when you sleep
Great video as always
How many times a week do you wash your hair? And how many times do you put styling product in?
I’ll put the product in everyday if I’m not wearing a hat, and I usually start my day with a shower every mornjng, just to rinse the product from the day before out, but I just use water. I actually wash with shampoo maybe once a week
Are you sponsored by any of the products? Also, great vid by the way, as usual! And very funny
Nope lmao no sponsors I’m just here finally figuring out how to use products I’ve had in my drawer for years 😂
bro is it bad to wet hair everyday? i get so many mixed answers
big question. how often do you shampoo and condition your hair bro?
Shampoo once a week, condition every couple of days
@@MrFrankieJosephMay I ask why you chose to do it that way?
Do you think your technique would work for curly hair that's shorter?
Yes! I cut my hair last year and grew it back out but didn’t change what I did
Can you use harry’s everyday without it drying out the hair?
I believe so ! I’ve been using it for years and it hasn’t dried mine out
mr brightside! 👍🏻👍🏻
When that song comes on at a wedding all bets are off
remember boys , never stop shaking !! :DDD
How often do you shampoo your hair?
Did you find out? Idk how much I should.
my curls are always thin and wispy i wanna get them more full and thicker any tips?
The more you tame them the thicker they should be. Sometimes try grouping a bunch of hair together and twirling on one of your fingers to make a big spiral of multiple sections of hair, then let that dry. Do that wherever there’s thin wispy hairs and that should help them dry as one bigger curl
dude i have natural curly hair and my head looks like musroom is it becoz of undercut ?
if i want to grow my hair like you what haircut i should get
Dude yes I’m thinking it’s the haircut. Mine looked like a mushroom too until everything caught up lol your hair should be pretty much the same length the entire way around, slightly longer on top than back and sides but they should all be pretty even
Dude your hair grows so fast lol I swear you just had it short last video I watched 😂
Bro. Truly a curly haired weed. I wasn’t kidding when I said a couple videos back I feel like a Chia pet
Do you wash the pommade out every night?
Every morning ! Just a quick shower will rinse it right out. No shampoo or conditioner needed 🙏🏼
i graduated high school before he posted a new video
Ayy!!! Congrats on graduating !!!
I was in Italy for 18 days !! Gotta get my ass back into gear 😂
@@MrFrankieJoseph appreciate yuhhh, looking forward to more vids
Thank you, cesc fabregas
Thank YOU my friend
what you tell the barber to maintain the hair?
christ has finally returned
Let’s turn water into wine baby !!
Do you wet your hair everyday when you shower?
I do. otherwise I just wear a hat lol

When you get your haircut what do you ask for?
To not look like a goddamn chia pet and to make everything basically the same length
@@MrFrankieJoseph so I went barbers and told them I'm growing my hair and just want the borders tidied and shaped and they have tapered and faded it 😂 give up. Doesn't actually look bad but still
Uncle Frankie🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
5:19 That was actually funny.
I don't have that much time before work.
Fair. I don’t either lol this is for those off days I’ve got time. Honestly just the pomade or the curl foam alone should work 🙏🏼
Yo man istg you look and act like daniel padilla you have to look up, amazing tips btw
You're hilarious bro
This is the kind of moral support I’m lookin for !!
Do you have hair breakage every time you run your hands through them while showering or is it only me??
I absolutely do. To be honest, with curly hair it’s tough to run your hands through your hair until it’s dry. Let it dry and leave it be after the shower
Do you do this everyday?
Anytime I’m not wearing a hat ! Besides the diffuser, most of the time I let it just air dey
is your hair dry or greasy
Dry 🫡
Bro why don't you use wide tooth comb?
It makes my hair stringy as hell so I gave up
@@MrFrankieJoseph aha i see bro, I'll try out not combing and see what happens cuz usually the next morning my hair is always messy maybe it's the comb
❤
Harrys is good and all... but they doesn't ship to norway :(
Just made a new video trying out other pomades that ship globally !
W ONG
i only clicked on the video to check if he still uses harry's pomade
