It came out very nice, the difference in your videos in this series is detail, explaining how each step is done , even the things that we as builders think “well everyone must know that” is the reason one must often have to watch many videos to get that one piece of info. Well done….👍
Thank you. I am trying to get as much info as I can in a short time frame, while also not filling half of it with a crazy montage. My wife actually asks me a lot of questions during these builds to help keep me in check with assuming everyone knows the basics.
this turned out really sharp! Looks professionally done and will add a lot to your backyard. Not to mention equity in your home... We went with those little solar LED post caps and I think that's one of my favorite parts of ours. Adds a nice touch when it's dark out. I just wish you would have made this series before I built my deck back in 2015! lol I would do some things different using your tips and tricks.
Thank you! I tried to find light caps to fit the posts I installed, but they were crazy expensive for size I have. This coming spring/summer I plan to do more videos on finishing the yard and add accent lighting to the deck.
Nice video, thanks. I however couldn’t get the list of products used to come up. Would you please help me out and send that information to me. Thanks again in advance.
video was super informative and well recorded. thanks for bringing us on the journey. It was also a small montage of your neighbor growing their grass haha.
It was powder coated black. They look awesome with the powder coat. It has a matte look so there is no sun reflecting, and they are really easy to clean.
You are correct, it is Fiberon. The color I used for the inside is cottage grey, and the border is espresso. Looking at the site, they may have updated the color scheme a little. I purchased the material a couple years ago and the espresso was more of a black/brown tone. Looking at their site now the espresso is not the color that I have. What I have is more in line with their Latte color now.
I know I'm late to the party but this video series really helped me decide to build my deck myself. These are all skills i already possess just never did something this big to use them all... the one question i have is what brand decking did you use?
Thanks man. You’re never too late to this party. The brand I used was Deckorators. I went into a lumber supply company and picked colors that went with our taste. I wasn’t really loyal to any brand of decking for this one.
Hindsight, I should have put a cost breakdown at the end. But, overall the cost of all the materials was around $12,000. The aluminum railings were $4,000 of that purchase, and more than half of the railing cost was just for the stairs. So if you are doing a landing like I did, the added railing will cost ya.
The total cost was around $12,000. I purchased a majority of my materials through a local lumber yard, where the cost was a little cheaper. Lumber is expensive right now, so shop around.
I really liked it!!!! I watched all your videos.. From Indianapolis, Indiana..
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for all the tips and show and tell, very useful as im in the construction phase of my own 20x14 DIY.

Awesome awesome. So glad I found your channel. Very well done, thank you 💪🏻
Wow!! Great job…the deck came out awesome! So much better than just that little concrete area. Keep up the good work and congrats on the house.
Thank you. The cost to put in a concrete pad these days, the deck may be the cheaper option soon.
Something to be proud of mate
Well done

Thank you. I made some mistakes along the way, but overall I am very satisfied with the result.

@@DIYDeclassifiedit was going to be a deck on the far side of a pool, the wife nixed the idea unfortunately… so no deck

Hi. Awesome video. What color railings did you go with for sure? Thanks!

Hi what manufacture of decking did you use? It looks like fiber on if so, what were the color choices? I really like your taste
