Even the most loyal men tend to at least look at other women once in a while and the reason is because there are always other attractive women appearing and looking different from his wife who attract his attention and sometimes this uncontrollable attraction leads to stained actions. It is the same with women, maybe a little less, but it also happens with them. Watch the movie Unfaithful 2001.
Maybe if wives would take care of their husbands in the bedroom instead of conveniently having a headache every morning noon and night, husbands wouldn’t have to go out to find physical attention elsewhere… And before you say that shit about wives don’t have to have sex with their husbands if they don’t want to and they have a right to refuse whenever, then husbands have a right to not be loyal and go elsewhere whenever as well. Fair game!
When jumping straight into bed with someone comes back to haunt you. Whether is cheating or the person is single, get to know someone first and see if they turn out to be weird.
The "cheaters" are ultimately the problem. Sadly blinded by "opportunity" and yet devoid of any sense of consequences. The wake of damage it leaves behind is tragic and reckless on so many levels.
Why do so many men humiliate themselves AND their families by CHOOSING to cheat in the first place? Obviously he DID want her. He was with her multiple times. He just had absolutely no idea what he was getting himself into with her mindset. HIS CHOICE to sleep with a total stranger.
Why do most mens manipulate and lying, they want family but to do what they want but when women do something that's a problem. They made fun of mens and womens relationships but of course first one they're acting like they owning us and doesn't treat us like humans. But most of you womens still live with pink sunglasses on your eyes you don't wanna see reality, if mens ever respected us they wouldn't do things that they're still doing and putting nose in our lives, decisions and other things that's a sad truth...
The fact that Michael Douglas has always been either an antagonist or an unsympathetic protagonist, makes his performance here (to the extent that he’s acting and not just being himself) even more believable. Almost as much as you hate Gordon Gecko in Wall Street, or the movie wherein he hires Viggo Mortensen’s character to murder his wife, played by Gweneth Paltrow. And about the same as in The Game.

This movie for a man, is the most accurate description of a true horror movie. Some thing that can actually happen. Something of the utmost insanity that you are stuck thinking about day and night. Very disturbing.
From a psychologists perspective I need to know. Let’s say Dan was single when he meets Alex, and they end up being together. Would Alex be genuinely happy with him? Would being with him keep her sane? Or would she still be miserable and depressed, finding ways to accuse him of cheating?

All because he was bored on a weekend.
@@T1000skynetforever Oh I never said he was a victim, he did more than cheating, he made one bad decision after another but he didn't treat her like you described it. But it did led to a dangerous person coming into not just Dan but his wife and daugher's life. Her constant calls to his office and home and following him tells me that she is not going to do this child raising by herself. @@katcraig7525 You are correct! I was mixing up this Oscar win upset with another one, which was when Annette Bening lost in 2000 to Hilary Swank. Hilary Swank won for her performance in Boys Don't Cry, which meant that Annette Bening didn't get that Oscar win for her performance in American Beauty. Annette was a powerhouse in that role! I never saw Boys Don't Cry, but Annette's performance in American Beauty was FLAWLESS! (side note... Hilary Swank won her 2nd Oscar in 2005 for her performance in Million Dollar Baby, beating out Annette a 2nd time for Annette's Oscar nomination in that same category for her performance in Being Julia. Ouch! It's 2024 and Annette **still** hasn't been awarded an Oscar. Ugh... I hope Annette will get her flowers too soon!)

How could he be so disloyal to his beautiful family.
He makes me want to puke!!
Jeezuz , it's NOT just men
Maybe if wives would take care of their husbands in the bedroom instead of conveniently having a headache every morning noon and night, husbands wouldn’t have to go out to find physical attention elsewhere…
And before you say that shit about wives don’t have to have sex with their husbands if they don’t want to and they have a right to refuse whenever, then husbands have a right to not be loyal and go elsewhere whenever as well.
Fair game!

Why do so many men humiliate themselves AND their families by CHOOSING to cheat in the first place? Obviously he DID want her. He was with her multiple times. He just had absolutely no idea what he was getting himself into with her mindset. HIS CHOICE to sleep with a total stranger.

In the film its implied that her character was damaged from something that happened in her childhood and she has a mental health disorder .
The fact that Michael Douglas has always been either an antagonist or an unsympathetic protagonist, makes his performance here (to the extent that he’s acting and not just being himself) even more believable.
You end up hating his character for what he did to his mistress, and for the hell he puts his family through. Almost as much as you hate Gordon Gecko in Wall Street, or the movie wherein he hires Viggo Mortensen’s character to murder his wife, played by Gweneth Paltrow. And about the same as in The Game.
