It’s amazing how even in a skit like this, you can see how brilliant Glenn Close is as an actress.
She played in 101 Dalmations.
Yes and hillbilly elegy. Shes one of the greats!
She’s great in a movie called The Chumscrubber it was my introduction to her she plays crazy so good
@@hopeann8757 and?
Glenn not winning an Oscar for fatal attraction is an outcome that martians won’t even comprehend
Instead they gave it to Cher. Cher BONO. Inexplicabke.
The Academy has always been full of it.
Close was 100 times better than Cher...
Is and will always be.
Capital M please. We live amongst you. Accept it and be respectful.
"I would very much like to go home now." I'm with Brad 😂.
Me, too.
But I am already home :-(
@@execattyHuh?!.
Me too.
Even in an SNL skit, Glenn Close's acting is STELLAR!
Can't believe she still has not won an Oscar. Hollywood REALLY doesn't like her. LOL I mean her performance in Fatal Attraction was so phenomenal it should've won her the Oscar no matter who she is against and they gave the Oscar to Cher!! Cher!!!!! She's a talented singer but she only had one facial expression and one facial expression only throughout that entire movie and they gave her an Oscar. LOL Unreal!! And then she just kept losing to other formidable actresses like Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, Olivia Coleman and etc. and now I guess she's waiting for the Oscar Award for Lifetime Achievement unless they nominate only her for the Best Supporting Actress or Best Actress category and just give her the Oscar because she certainly deserves it more than anyone else.
@Feline Queen we need to start a petition for Glenn to get an Oscar
makes no sense...
Yes. You really see the difference between sketch acting and fully committed acting. In fairness, she had a lot of time and prior experience with that her character.
@@felinequeen9243it will never be that deep
People had forgotten how big Fatal Attraction was back in the day. And how frightened men suddenly became of the chance encounter.
So true!!
I watched the movie for the first time a few months ago and after it was over I turned to my mother and asked "Why didn't men learn from that movie that they should not be having affairs ??"
Like I literally do not understand.
Speaking for a friend... absolutely true.
Oh! This movie was huge.....back in the day. Glenn Close should've won the Oscar for her chilling performance.
@@hazyblue5727 Well, Glen still have people come up to her and says : "You've saved my marriage!"
I love how Glenn Close's voice is so soft and sweet.
@twinflame allstar2 Susan Atkins voice sounded like a sweeet kitten ...but....
*I EXIST! I REALLY REALLY EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
I don't.
That's one of the reasons why I love her in the 80s and 90s. Her voice is the best!
GD voice is like velvet.
The way she just steps right back into this character is a testament to just how talented she really is!
Wow! If you’re a fan of the movie, you can def see the genius in this skit. Glenn Close slipped right back into character
Looks like a man
Might be a man
It’s a man baby
She is amazing
She won’t be ignored!!

"I think you exist" is one of the funniest lines I've ever heard. Why is no one talking about it lmao
Perfectly delivered.
😂😂😂😂
Victoria Jackson is underrated.
Agree.. laughed my head off (or not..). 😂
5:23: when she pulls the knife out of her bag......😂
And yet, that Academy Award still eludes her. Unbelievable. Amazing actress.
The knife was a totally hilarious touch 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg!!! She's perfect!
Took a moment to realize it was Glenn close. It is an iconic character.
You. know It's True Love 💕💕 When She Wants to Boil Ur Bunny 🐰 LOL 😂😂😂😂
An Oscar snub is a much bigger honor than an Oscar. Al Pacino did it with The Godfather Part 2. Making the Academy jealous is top level.
I'm not gonna be IGNORED, Dan!
That was the line of all lines 🏳️🌈
Best side chick line ever😂😂😂😂
She should have said that in the meeting
for those of you too young to know, welcome to the world of shoulder pads.
After that whole thing all you got was shoulder pads?! 😂
I didn't notice until you mentioned it lol. They WERE awful, though...
Great times, great, great times x
I remember putting them in clothes that did not have them just for the "look".
Lollll I hateddd them. I was young and whenever my mom bought me shirts with them I’d rip em out
Like what the actual hell 😂
Shoulder pads were the *SHIT!* #Yaaaaassss
Listen to the nervous laughter of the audience when Glenn is talking. They know all about Fatal Attraction and what Glenn Close is all about in that movie. THAT's an impact.
T-Birdus Thoracis Glenn is such an intense actress and can scare the hell out of you lol
Uhh, yeah. Even people who haven't seen the movie know all about the character. Lol.
@Daniel Johnston there are so many women out there hiding an inner "psycho bpd Glenn"
@@barb7124 Hi
@@katjames7601 that title of the movie kinda gives it away
This was such a great idea for a skit -- putting Alex in a support group to talk about her "issues." I like how she massages her wrists nervously. The knife in the purse was a great touch! My favorite part is the nonchalant look on her face and casual tone in her voice when she says, "I boiled the rabbit." This is also a good parody of these kinds of support groups that were popular in the 80s.
I totally buy this as canon too. As far as I'm concerned this totally happened in the universe of the film. lol
Even in a little comedy skit, she still delivers an A-list performance!
"Is anyone going for coffee?" (while holding the knife from her purse). So funny.
HI-larious😂😂😂
The movie that reduced infidelity for a while at least. 😂
@@neicyd.9231 Right? Imagine all the crazy stalker shit Alex could do now with how much technology's changed.
@@AliciaNyblade I know!! Twitter, Instagram, Facebook...she would troll him on every social media site. I would love to see them remake it.
@@jobuck879 Yeah. Most remakes suck because they're such obvious cash-grabs, nothing but the original script filmed with a modern, "who the kids are into these days" cast. But when a remake actually does something new and creative with the source material, it can be great and stand out with an identity all its own. "Fatal Attraction" is one of those films that would definitely be interesting to see in a 21st century setting.
HA HA
@@neicyd.9231 I mean it basically has over and over again though, with both men and women in the Alex role.
Back in the days when SNL was truly brilliant. What a fantastic group of talent.
So ?
If you have not seen Fatal Attraction, I would recommend it. The theme is timeless. Love Glenn Close, she is phenomenal, and how generous of her to step into Alex for the skit. We can laugh at this Alex, but definitely not the Alex she portrays in the movie. Scary.
Not to mention thieve endings. They ditched the 1st after asking a test audience how they felt. They called them all back a year later to refilm the ending. And a great ending helped make that crazy movie satisfying.
Close should've won an Oscar, or at least the Golden Globe for her talent at playing such a demanding role. She's an amazing artist.
@@teresaf991 wait what was the first ending??? :0
@@tyeprettygirl5591 from google:
The movie's original ending had Alex frame Dan for her murder before killing herself. But when test audiences didn't like it, the studio reshot the ending, with Dan's wife, Beth, shooting and killing Alex - which Close initially protested.

ALEX: "I boiled the rabbit."

And also the feel of fear from the attendees when she said "why would I assault you? I love you."
@@kurliigurlii"Why would I assault you? I love you!" No one wants her "love," lol.

God, all the best actors, since the originals, all gone now and the show sucks, except for the political sketches.
SethBlizzard and surprising
“Does anyone else feel that way?”
Dana Carvey raises his hand twice
SNL was always known to have cue cards handy, which cast members used rather obviously at times. Glenn is such a professional that she is barely seen taking her eyes off the cast. Such a brilliant actress.❤
Glenn is a great actress and obviously has a great sense of humor!
I didn't realize how? Funny she is?
And I can’t believe she’s never won an Oscar...
Loved this era and cast of SNL.
@@vivianedepaula693 she will next month for her role in "the wife"
Jerry Lorosae Yeah. No. Olivia Colman got it.
This is one of SNL's best ever sketches. You've got Glenn Close still giving an amazing performance even though it's just SNL. Plus now when I watch the movie, I'll just think about how soon before that scene she was in a group therapy session. It even adds to her character! And it's still hilarious. Love it.
Glenn Close. One of the greatest and most underappreciated actresses of our time.
No creo que no haya sido suficientemente apreciada como actriz. No era bella y eso le quitó cámara, porque Hollywood se alimenta de apariencias. Pero el talento de Close nunca ha sido puesto en duda.
She is doing a sketch but she takes so seriously the character. That is just amazing about Glenn!
She really was and is protective of the character because she knows backstory of Alex that she came up with while talking to a psychiatrist
@@EphemeralProductions.?.
Victoria Jackson's "I think you exist" line is just delivered perfectly here.
Victoria Jackson seemed to have just disappeared.
LOL when she pulls out the knife! Glenn Close is a phenomenal actress who can do anything. Even just the looks she was giving in the sketch were pure gold.
She’s brilliant as the grandmother in the recent movie -
Every woman took their husband to that movie when it came out.

Not sure your age, but we don't even know half the skits. I'd wager we've been able to know more of them than not since around when Will Ferrell joined.
@@noahhurley-abelew6536 what?
@@mazatano I remember it. This was SNL's best era by far. From 87-94 or so. After that NBC took more control and aimed it at a younger audience. And now it's nothing but one sided politics.
Back then they used to go after everyone equally and they didn't constantly have celebrity guests. I mean, there were the hosts obviously, but you didn't have Bob DeNiro, Alec Baldwin, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders etc popping up all the time.
Lorne's too old for this shit. Like Gilbert Gottfried said "SNL is just a restaurant in a good location now". Actual quality is neither here nor there.
What I like most about this skit is it takes place right before the ending of Fatal Attraction, showing her getting ready to attack Beth and answering the question, "What does Alex do with her time when she's not stalking Dan?"
Fatal Attraction is actually the type of movie that scares me as opposed to Nightmare on Elm St, etc Because it can really happen. Another good movie with Glenn is Jagged Edge with Jeff Bridges. Great film
Yes she is phenomenal in both
Glenn does crazy amazing that's why she was awesome at cruella as well lol

If only she would have said, "I will not be ignored !"

What a missed opportunity to say it during her "I EXIST" monologue! 😂
True. I was waiting for her to say it too.
The line is "I will not be ignored Dan!"
The deadpan " I boiled the rabbit" was pretty good though.
I love how Glenn rubs her wrist when she was talking, hinting her cut wrists, such subtle detail.

@Lanla Colan You sound like an apologist
@Lanla Colan oh they could have kept going with it and you sound brain washed and no he is hiding his true feelings and most of the other crap women say thats only true in there minds
Lanla Colan food for thought 💭🤔
@@patricew.4010 That's not really an apologist thing to say. It's a bit more poetic and flowering sounding, it would also show the perspective of the character a little and allude to the mental instability instead of being so blatant about it. But, it's apparent that some people need it to be obvious...
The look Glenn gave to Lovitz could be classified as a lethal weapon.
More lethal than Riggs and Murtaugh!😎

I saw this movie in the theaters when I was in elementary school 😰 Back then, parents wanted to see movies and would take kids of any age so that there wasn’t a need for a babysitter. Spent 90% of the film with my mom’s hands covering my eyes. In the 80s, kids were legit exposed to absolutely everything 🥴
Yup! I was afraid Jaws would come up behind me in the bath tub for at least a couple years after watching it on video as a small child.
OMG I'm glad I'm not the only one. This was actually the first movie I seen in the theater. My parents picked me up from school and went straight to the theater. I was so scared of Glen Close for a while 😂
I remember when my best friends dad took us to see “Angel Heart.” We were like, 9! 😂

Yep, parents didn't care what we watched. I remember parents freaking out over Dirty Dancing. I was like really? I watched Flash Dance in 3rd grade.
Fatal Attraction was one of my fave movies! Glenn was fitted for the role of Alex and Michael D was perfect as Dan. The scariest part for me was when Alex was sitting on the floor and listening to Madame Butterfly! You can see the insanity in her eyes. Excellent actress!!! 👍👌👍👌👍🌹🌹🌹🌹
She would make a brilliant Baby Jane Hudson opposite Meryl Streep as Blanche Hudson in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane remake

True story. I happened upon Glenn Close in an alley after the release of Fatal Attraction. Confusing her with the character, I was afraid. Then, about a month later, I heard her on NPR and the person interviewing her noted that she'd cut her hair. Ms. Close explained that she did so because people were afraid of her in curls, confusing her with Alex.
Sorry 'bout that, Ms. Close. I'm an idiot.
I was 16 when this came out and saw it in the theaters. It was huge across the board of all races and genders. Glen Close stole the movie and was robbed at the Oscar’s. And it took over the culture pre social media. I hope the reboot is worth it

I remember watching this live at my dorm at Boston College.
I was in group therapy at the time as well.
This sketch totally nails the complete uselessness of group therapy.
Ernest Kinas - I am sorry you had such a bad experience with group therapy. If led by a competent therapist it is really effective. The therapist never asks, "So how does that make you feel, Liz?" That is so ridiculous.
Real group therapy is not like that at all. But enough lousy group therapists are just like this. "So your husband's mistress killed your daughter. How does that make you feel?"
You had a lousy therapist. I went to group therapy and there was no warm and fuzzies. It was hard core work and painful. But the growth was worth it.
the "i REALLY...EXIST" was so perfectly delivered lmfao. i would watch a serialized version of this support group
So great too see Glenn Close doing it herself. I was rolling on the ground laughing my lungs off!

I wasn't laughing. I was actually kind of creeped out. But it was a great skit. Maybe that was the intent.
No one does psycho like Glenn. The audience was too scared to laugh when she started screaming.
And props to the unbreakable Kevin Nealon. SNL's best straight man.
He is a very multi-talented actor, more than simply a straight man. Will Ferrell is also capable, but I don't see why he managed to climb the heights, and Kevin Nealon did not.
alex thelizardking she wasn’t psycho.. she had borderline personality disorder.... Glenn argued for weeks to keep the original ending because the Hollywood version is inaccurate to those with BPD.
