In a word, Harrelson is an extraordinary actor in any role. He was so good in Cheers people actually assume he’s the guy he played, and it may have hurt him (“too good for his own good”).
They both agreed to it. In fact she first suggested to do it and he said okay, if you want to you can do it. Later he regreted it and tried to stop them but it was to late because they left the hotel room and flew away in a helicopter.
I've been through a similar situation, in a different context, but similar I felt the same pain he felt in that scene, there's no armor that pain can't penetrate
David's suspicions about his wife being attracted to John Gage were well-founded. Diana was deceptive from the start because she never told her husband about John's offer to buy her a $5,000 dress. She said she couldn't be bought, then smiled at John when their eyes met on the casino floor. David had no idea his wife already had an encounter with him. A pivotal scene that was supposed to occur after they returned home was cut from the original script. Apparently, Diane made a new sexual move while they were making love that set David off so much he jumped out of bed and told her, "You never did that before." David's behavior and suspicions would have made more sense if they had kept that scene.
@@SweetChocolateman1 Yes, they became a couple. In the original script, Gage gave Diana an engagement ring before the auction, and the plan was to rush to the Dominican Republic to process the paperwork as soon as David signed the divorce and then get married in Paris.
@@johne5596 Thank you very much for this insite. I don't think I would have been able to get back with her after all that. You say you hated him but yet you run, almost immediately, straight into his arms parading all over the place with him as soon as we separated.
Its hard to watch this mans response, most of us have been in similar emotionally driven psychosis against someone we love... All I can say is, it's nice to be mid 40's and having control of this now...
That conversation about if the sex was good reminded me of the conversation Rachel and Ross had after Ross sleeps with that other chick when they "were on a break", don't know if it was intentional and the writers were making a reference to this movie.
Any normal man would take his woman and leave the room with words such as: “You propose something like that again, and you will be in big trouble…” Any normal woman whose man would even entertain the thought of giving her to another man, would say: “I don’t think you and I should be together anymore!”
This scene would make perfect sense if the writers had just stuck with the original script. David's suspicions about Diana's attraction to John Gage were well-founded. Diana never told David about John's offer to buy her a $5,000 dress. She smiled at John when their eyes met on the casino floor, and poor David had no idea his wife had already encountered him. In the original script, after she agrees to sleep with him, David learns that Gage has slept with half of Hollywood. When he changes his mind and tries to stop Diana, Gage’s bodyguards mock him, saying, “You left your wife with John Gage? Are you looking for grounds for divorce or what? Don’t worry about your wife; she’s bound to enjoy herself.” David also overhears hookers talking about Gage being well-endowed. They also cut a crucial scene where Diane makes a new sexual move in bed after they get home, which sets David off so much that he jumps out of bed and says to her, "You never did that before." If they had left the script intact, it would have been easier to understand why David blew up after finding the memento she kept from the yacht (matches), Gage's phone number in her wallet, and learning she saw Gage without telling him in advance.
I love how Diana says that she did it for him. 😅 Like she let some other guy plough her, completely demolish her insides for David's benefit 🙄. What a trooper 👏.
But she did though, before she agreed, she was completely against it. It was his insecurities. David was asking the wrong questions, he should have asked was the sex better than his
The worse part is that at the end, when we were left with an implied "happily ever after" ending; it was painfully honest that if Gage came back she would fold like wet cardboard and and once again break Davids' heart! BTB!!!
Well, she was against it and then they made that choice together. So she might wanted that to 50% for her own benefit (be it the Money or outside sex), but 50% was him insisting and saying yes.

Looking back now at the Redford character, he comes across as creepy. He uses his money to buy Demi Moore because he knows she is financially vulnerable. Power freak?

OK. She slept with the man for money. You knew about it and accepted the terms. Deal with it. Classic movie.

Demi Moore was one of the best criers in Hollywood, as evidenced here, and in Ghost, etc. Her crying could make your heart sink.
They both deserved Oscars for this movie, for making scenes so real, they were excruciating to watch.
I had no idea Woody Harrelson could act this well, I only knew about him in the late 2000s.

@@eduardochavacano 1996 actually
Really? He has been popular since the early 1980s with his role in the comedy "Cheers".
@@antonboludo8886 I only know him since The Hunger Games. I had never heard of him before.
No Country For Old Men, Thin Red Line, Natural Born Killers, Netflix Bonnie & Clyde remake …… I saw an Agadamator Chess video a year or so ago, and the chess RUclipsr mentioned Harrelson is fairly hardcore into chess… and memorably said “any movie with Woody Harrelson is going to be be pretty interesting.” That comment was a true chess mind at work, precision accuracy, no room for BS. In a word, Harrelson is an extraordinary actor in any role. He was so good in Cheers people actually assume he’s the guy he played, and it may have hurt him (“too good for his own good”).
I would dump my husband for even agreeing to it.
They both agreed to it. In fact she first suggested to do it and he said okay, if you want to you can do it.
Later he regreted it and tried to stop them but it was to late because they left the hotel room and flew away in a helicopter.

I've been through a similar situation, in a different context, but similar
I felt the same pain he felt in that scene, there's no armor that pain can't penetrate
Don't ask a question if you can't bear an honest answer.
Lesson learned: never ask a question if you are not ready to hear the answer
No its don't be a cuckold and let another man plow your wife for money. If you actually love her that is...
oh no, if you are not ready you must do it
You've initiated the conversation. I say you're ready to see what comes down.
Do you think that gage and diana had sex again during the time that she was with him after she left david?
@@SweetChocolateman1 Yes, they became a couple. In the original script, Gage gave Diana an engagement ring before the auction, and the plan was to rush to the Dominican Republic to process the paperwork as soon as David signed the divorce and then get married in Paris.
@@johne5596 Thank you very much for this insite. I don't think I would have been able to get back with her after all that. You say you hated him but yet you run, almost immediately, straight into his arms parading all over the place with him as soon as we separated.
Would you guys have been able to go back to her?
@@SweetChocolateman1 I would have taken her back in a heartbeat because their love was more powerful and worth more than her mistakes.
Its hard to watch this mans response, most of us have been in similar emotionally driven psychosis against someone we love... All I can say is, it's nice to be mid 40's and having control of this now...
Woodys acting wow! Amazing
Two master actors in their best!
That conversation about if the sex was good reminded me of the conversation Rachel and Ross had after Ross sleeps with that other chick when they "were on a break", don't know if it was intentional and the writers were making a reference to this movie.
Haha. There is a Korean drama remake with Choi Jiwo of this movie
Lol..Yeah..But the difference is Ross didn't end up dating the girl from the Xerox place right after their break-up...
Any normal man would take his woman and leave the room with words such as: “You propose something like that again, and you will be in big trouble…”
Any normal woman whose man would even entertain the thought of giving her to another man, would say: “I don’t think you and I should be together anymore!”
Interesting!
Ah yes the whole "i pimped you out for money and im mad at you now"
I was young when I saw this movie and learned invaluable life lessons. True love can't be bought or manipulated.
I love how Diana says that she did it for him. 😅
Like she let some other guy plough her, completely demolish her insides for David's benefit 🙄.
What a trooper 👏.
She did though. David was facing bankruptcy, they were bribed with a million dollars in order to get out of their financial problem.
You can always tell who's a cuck in real life just by reading comments on stuff like this 😂😂
But she did though, before she agreed, she was completely against it. It was his insecurities. David was asking the wrong questions, he should have asked was the sex better than his
The sad thing they up like 20 grand at the casino, should have called a day went back and made a new deal with bank.
The worse part is that at the end, when we were left with an implied "happily ever after" ending; it was painfully honest that if Gage came back she would fold like wet cardboard and and once again break Davids' heart! BTB!!!
Keep in mind this was 1993 which was pretty much two decades before red pill awareness started to take off.
Nah
Chris Hansen Walks in:
How's it Going?
What was your plan here today?
"I did it for YOU." Bwahahahahaha!
Well, she was against it and then they made that choice together. So she might wanted that to 50% for her own benefit (be it the Money or outside sex), but 50% was him insisting and saying yes.
Amazing acting by both
