- In this Episode I achieve a cycling milestone I have dreamt of for years. Follow along as I continue my ride down the Pacific Coast leaving Oregon behind and crossing into California.
Graham, Thanks for taking us along the journey. My wife is dropping me off in Astoria in the morning and I'm heading South! Not sure how far, but hoping to do all of Oregon if I am enjoying it. But I also don't want to do it out of stubborness or just for the sake of suffering. I struggle knowing how to be ok with myself if I don't set goals or meet goals. But soon it will be all rainy here in Portland and temps will drop and I'll wish I would have gone for. long bike ride. I have watched hundreds of youtube videos on all kinds of things and I think yours was the only one that didn't have music that made me wish I was deaf. Great selections! And I am glad you included getting emotional - that is the most relatable/relevant part.
Thank you for the nice words Mathew. I hope you get your ride in before we turn the weather turns and you have an enjoyable time. As for music, it's hard to find good music, that is royalty free, and doesn't cost much. I've been guilty of poor music choices on past videos. Thanks again!

Grahm if I can offer a suggestion . When it comes time to replace that Columbia shirt . I would recommend the Duluth trading company Alaska guide shirts. I had a riding partner turn me onto them . They are about 40 % lighter than the Columbia's and a lot more durable. I picked up 6 of them at the end of the season sale for 21.00 there normal price is around 79.00
Thanks for the tip!. I'm always on the lookout better options. My current shirt will need replacing pretty soon.
What resource did you use to learn about the road closure?
Some other cyclists brought it to my attention when I was further north, then I checked the Caltrans web page and it had details on the closure schedule
