I just wanted to say that I am in the process of adopting a dog from Morocco who has had a rough past and lost a leg. Because of this Channel and your efforts of teaching and showing people the special breed of the Malinois, I was able to bond and have a connection with this dog.
Thank you for showing us how to train a dog without the use of anything hurtful or discomforting. It means alot to me to see people like you use non-addversive training methods, I want to build a bond with my dog, not hurt them for not doing what I want them to do.

@@GeloNegron Yeah, you are probably right. Still, even if he does use tools to teach his dogs, I’ll still use his advise while excluding the tools. Also, I didn’t say those things don’t work, they just aren’t necessary in any case. You shouldn’t have to communicate what you want from them with their neck and even if there is a “correct” way to use them, I think it’s better to make the training with your dog as enjoyable as you can make it. I’m not going to tell you what to do, but this is what I believe, besides, trying to fight over this would be pointless, in the end it’s your dog that has to deal with it. So I hope you read this without clicking off too fast 😐👍.

Thank you. I didn't notice hands shaking. Tho my dad has tremors in his hands from nerve damage I know how difficult it can be watching him deal with it, he has difficulty driving his get bad. Hope alls well. Thank you for sharing your life and your fur baby's with us all. I'm starting training in our new pupper:) she's 7 months old, from her first home she's been through 5 homes. One even abused her. Then we came along, and after a long day of fund raising and gathering every ounce of change we had we hit 200$ and went and got her. She is a Merle pitty or a Catahoula American Stanford shire terrier. We call her remmy short for Remington. She's very head shy because of the abuse. She's attentive, learns fast and just is amazing. I'll try to get videos up as we go. Iam far from a person who shares videos so this will be new for me. Thank you tho. Wish you were closer to idaho we would love to sign up for classes. I'm new to the channel, and am so glad to have found it. I am refocusing my life on my love of dogs and retraining to be a clinical behaviourist, and I am hoping to add a working dog to my eventual practise, and when in comes to the ultimate all-round working dog, the Mal is right up there at the top of the list, being able to see a breed specialist in action is both reassuring, and inspiring. I just started working my pup with the left and right heel positions and the center focus position where he's sitting and looking at me. After watching this and your command video I decided to use "Fus, Ro, and Dah" which is a dragon shout from Skyrim. :D It's much more fun and he listened so well! I’ve watched many of your videos. My wife I have had what we call super breeds for many years. I have seen many trainers in the states and in Europe, but we think your the best we have ever seen. This is so helpful. My rottweiler passed away 4 years ago. I had him trained at a K-9 facility. I'm getting me a puppy in March and I'm going to train her myself this time. I also want to get her registered as a service dog. Your videos are awesome and will help me. Thank you so much ❤️
For me, absolutely not late. It may take longer and or different approaches to get yo the points you want, but contrary to what I was told in the past, older dogs do keep learning. My Chihuahua and my Yorkie are 12 and 13, and they still come up with new things. I rehomed and trained adult dogs, with success. Again, not the same as puppies, but they can learn a ton.

And after a years of work and struggle I can tell that I needed that dog in my life. Because, he forsed me to learn and learn and learn. And to day, after 6,5 years, I am better dog owner and guardian than ever before.) Last 13 years I have multiple breed dog pack of 2-3 dogs. My prefered breeds are Belgian/Duch/German shepards; Mastiffs, Boxers and Dogo argentinos... And if the last one was the 1st one I am not sure that I will ever have another dog...
You are an amazing trainer. You stand out from the other trainers because your love for your dogs is always front and center. I have a 6 mo old GSD, training for medical alert service work. A trainer recently told me to "stop with the baby voice". I talk to my Zeusie-Freusi-Puh-Puh-Puppy all day. 🥰He is always by my side, and he is my best buddy. We bring our play and love for each other to training. I love it that you incorporate play as well.
I'll be honest.. I was going to end my subscription to the Channel, until THIS video! I could be wrong, but most of the other videos were showing off the dogs and what they can do, which is certainly impressive, but without teaching us HOW to achieve any of it! This video is totally DIFFERENT! LOTS of actual instruction that I think is VERY helpful and usable! I will be picking up a working line Doberman mid December at 8 weeks of age and this video is something I will be referring back to over and over!!! Your training methods are unbelievable. I watch tons of training videos. I am a Rottweiler owners and I have never seen a dog that stops attacking so quickly. Cops and military trails, they don’t release is quickly Alridge. I wish I lived near you but I am in Canada
Absolutely love this. Working dogs clearly love their jobs. This dog is living his very best life. And the beauty of training with positive reinforcement... The dog is working completely voluntarily and happily. Just proof that positive reinforcement can work to create a dog with AMAZING obedience! None of that dominance bullshit

I love watching the way you interact with your dogs!!!!! And I love your training tips! I WISH I could implement any of them with the only dog in my life, but alas, he belongs to some relatives of mine who... while they aren't BAD owners, they aren't great either. They mean well. They think they have done pretty much everything right, and CERTAINLY to the best of their ability. And he's a GREAT dog, and pretty well behaved in general. I love him so much, and I am never ever nervous around him. He is single-handedly (pawedly?) responsible for making me stop being afraid of dogs. ...But there are also a lot of things I wish I could work on with him. Like not pulling on his leash, not barking at other dogs (sure, he only wants to say hi, and play; but people who don't KNOW him won't know that!!!) when we're walking. Or to KNOW that if he should happen to get loose, he WILL come instantly when I call. I wish I could - if nothing else - convince my relatives that they not only CAN do better, but that they NEED to put in more effort. But they are deaf when it comes to anything like that. And I don't meet him every day, or even every week, so when I watch him, while he and I have a great time together, and I try to use all the advice I see from people like you.... That's once in a while. Not regularly. I know that I can't really do anything with him that will give long-term results. He's a 4-year-old Icelandic sheepdog, and he is a bright guy. He is so smart, and food motivated, and energetic, and I feel like it would be so... well, easy might be the wrong word? But like. I feel like he would be quite easy, and very rewarding, to train. I just know that I don't meet him often enough to really have an impact, and his owners really don't do enough. But they think they do.

Hi, my dog is food driven when we are inside home; he knows basic commands and does "obey" while we are inside; but as soon as we walk past the door, he will ignore food and toys and he will only want to explore and search for preys... any suggestion on how to obtain his attention when we are outside?
Well I think you have to try to teach him outside the home because there many distractions and if you can train your puppy outside with the distractions then he's gonna do every command no problem
My suggestion: patience. Take a single step outeside the door and train. Once that is working, take ten steps outeside the door and repeat. If you have a friend with a dog then have him approach until the dog becomes reactive, then stop and wait till he is paying attention to you again. Continue training. The let the dog come closer. This is the principle with everything...
@crash9706 I don’t. He’s nearly 5 and we keep exercising so he has a little bit improved, but he’s a lot prey-driven so he won’t hear anything as long as he sees an animal. But we keep trying

Would you do a video where you talk about your commands? They have a very unusual sound, distinct, which is why I expect to use them. I couldn't find a video where you address them, but I'm sure many subscribers are equally curious.
Can you do a video for crate and potty training puppy’s? Starting at like 8 weeks maybe. I just got a pit bull terrier mix he is very excited but I’ve never had to train a puppy this young and I’m not sure the best steps to take to get the basics down with him before we do more training.
great video as per usual... as for shaking hands, taking 1-2 cloves daily can help a lot in order to calm it down... As well as cleaning the body... hope this helps!

I have been to Agadir, Morocco since 2010 many times by sailboat. Their altitude toward dogs is slowly changing, in large cities and among the young people. I have always had dogs on board with me when sailing/crossing oceans, as many as 4, 2 of them Dobermans. The Moroccans are very friendly, but one has to deal with their customs about animals. They are very peaceful and always seem to be in good humor. They are not cruel to animals, just ignorant, very similar to Mexico except I saw intentional cruelty in Mexico. Sorry rambling. I adopted/rescued/bought a 3 month female Belgian Malinois at of all places a Souk in a newly established pet store in Agadir in July 2019. She was healthy, but extremely frightened. I had a Doberman and a rescue dog from Mexico still on board at the time. She is the most intelligent breed I have ever had, but has fear issues (inherited I think) of people and anything with wheels on it. Modern Malinois, thank you, your training videos are a great help. I wish I knew back in 2019 what I have since learned about dog training/shaping. I made mistakes in the area of my pups fears!
Amazing content again. Question: my 1 year old Swiss White Shepherd isn’t that food motivated. She accepts treats indoors, but outdoors with distractions she doesn’t show interest. No matter how high value of treats I offer. We tried switching to training with a tug toy, but without results too. Do you have a solution for that?
This is how kindergarten classes should be taught across North America. One year of training like this for a kid, they're going to spend the rest of their school years attentive. I threw away my opportunity to learn while I was young in school, because I was always loud and mouthy, disrupting the class because there was no punishment. Nowadays the only requirement to graduate is to show up to class. You could be failing every subject but they will still pass you as long as you are there trying.
At what age the puppy should be train regardless of the breed and the large dog need a big or huge space to run to walk to play thank you for sharing watching from Philippines 🇵🇭 God Bless
I’d love to use food as reward for training however I have a breed prone to bloat (Great Dane). I get concerned even when feeding treats and doing more dynamic training like recall. However I want to engage my dog with more “working breed” training. Any suggestions or ideas?
Play tug with your dog. You might have to teach him to love it first. Once a dog enjoys playing you can train using the toy/tug as the primary reinforcer instead of food. Depending on the dog many will be much much more driven by the toy as reward over food
There are three male Belgian Malinois dogs available for adoption at the Tacoma, WA Humane Society!!! I wish some of these trainers would adopt these awesome dogs! They could train them and find good homes for them before the dogs get institutionalized.

Absolutely love this. Working dogs clearly love their jobs. This dog is living his very best life. And the beauty of training with positive reinforcement... The dog is working completely voluntarily and happily. Just proof that positive reinforcement can work to create a dog with AMAZING obedience! None of that dominance bullshit

Shes a working dog, a pure BBS Sheppard, shes got some know how for therepy work. And thats what i wanna eventually hone in on. Thank you for this! I WISH I could implement any of them with the only dog in my life, but alas, he belongs to some relatives of mine who... while they aren't BAD owners, they aren't great either. They mean well. They think they have done pretty much everything right, and CERTAINLY to the best of their ability.
And he's a GREAT dog, and pretty well behaved in general. I love him so much, and I am never ever nervous around him. He is single-handedly (pawedly?) responsible for making me stop being afraid of dogs.
...But there are also a lot of things I wish I could work on with him. Like not pulling on his leash, not barking at other dogs (sure, he only wants to say hi, and play; but people who don't KNOW him won't know that!!!) when we're walking. Or to KNOW that if he should happen to get loose, he WILL come instantly when I call.
I wish I could - if nothing else - convince my relatives that they not only CAN do better, but that they NEED to put in more effort.
But they are deaf when it comes to anything like that. And I don't meet him every day, or even every week, so when I watch him, while he and I have a great time together, and I try to use all the advice I see from people like you.... That's once in a while. Not regularly. I know that I can't really do anything with him that will give long-term results.
He's a 4-year-old Icelandic sheepdog, and he is a bright guy. He is so smart, and food motivated, and energetic, and I feel like it would be so... well, easy might be the wrong word? But like. I feel like he would be quite easy, and very rewarding, to train. I just know that I don't meet him often enough to really have an impact, and his owners really don't do enough. But they think they do.
This is the ultimate video new owners should watch. Can I ask, what is your #1 go to for treats while training/working, more so like what size and texture? I know its whatever the dog loves, but what is easiest to keep there nose buried in your hand in your opinion?

Hi, my dog is food driven when we are inside home; he knows basic commands and does "obey" while we are inside; but as soon as we walk past the door, he will ignore food and toys and he will only want to explore and search for preys... any suggestion on how to obtain his attention when we are outside?

Well I think you have to try to teach him outside the home because there many distractions and if you can train your puppy outside with the distractions then he's gonna do every command no problem
My suggestion: patience. Take a single step outeside the door and train. Once that is working, take ten steps outeside the door and repeat. If you have a friend with a dog then have him approach until the dog becomes reactive, then stop and wait till he is paying attention to you again. Continue training. The let the dog come closer. This is the principle with everything...

@crash9706 I don’t. He’s nearly 5 and we keep exercising so he has a little bit improved, but he’s a lot prey-driven so he won’t hear anything as long as he sees an animal. But we keep trying

Can you do a video for crate and potty training puppy’s? Starting at like 8 weeks maybe. I just got a pit bull terrier mix he is very excited but I’ve never had to train a puppy this young and I’m not sure the best steps to take to get the basics down with him before we do more training.

I have been to Agadir, Morocco since 2010 many times by sailboat. Their altitude toward dogs is slowly changing, in large cities and among the young people. I have always had dogs on board with me when sailing/crossing oceans, as many as 4, 2 of them Dobermans. The Moroccans are very friendly, but one has to deal with their customs about animals. They are very peaceful and always seem to be in good humor. They are not cruel to animals, just ignorant, very similar to Mexico except I saw intentional cruelty in Mexico. Sorry rambling. I adopted/rescued/bought a 3 month female Belgian Malinois at of all places a Souk in a newly established pet store in Agadir in July 2019. She was healthy, but extremely frightened. I had a Doberman and a rescue dog from Mexico still on board at the time. She is the most intelligent breed I have ever had, but has fear issues (inherited I think) of people and anything with wheels on it. Modern Malinois, thank you, your training videos are a great help. I wish I knew back in 2019 what I have since learned about dog training/shaping. I made mistakes in the area of my pups fears!

Question: my 1 year old Swiss White Shepherd isn’t that food motivated. She accepts treats indoors, but outdoors with distractions she doesn’t show interest. No matter how high value of treats I offer. We tried switching to training with a tug toy, but without results too. Do you have a solution for that?

This is how kindergarten classes should be taught across North America. One year of training like this for a kid, they're going to spend the rest of their school years attentive. I threw away my opportunity to learn while I was young in school, because I was always loud and mouthy, disrupting the class because there was no punishment. Nowadays the only requirement to graduate is to show up to class. You could be failing every subject but they will still pass you as long as you are there trying.

I’d love to use food as reward for training however I have a breed prone to bloat (Great Dane). I get concerned even when feeding treats and doing more dynamic training like recall. However I want to engage my dog with more “working breed” training. Any suggestions or ideas?
Play tug with your dog. You might have to teach him to love it first. Once a dog enjoys playing you can train using the toy/tug as the primary reinforcer instead of food. Depending on the dog many will be much much more driven by the toy as reward over food

There are three male Belgian Malinois dogs available for adoption at the Tacoma, WA Humane Society!!! I wish some of these trainers would adopt these awesome dogs! They could train them and find good homes for them before the dogs get institutionalized.
