- WHEN Michael Rogosin got his first dog six years ago, a Belgian Malinois called Ares, he couldn't find a dog training group that matched his needs or vision. Michael had the ambition to train Ares to the highest standard possible so that the canine would be qualified as a K9 for Navy Seal and law enforcement. He also had the dream of abseiling down a building with Ares on his back. When Michael, who didn't have any prior experience, decided to train Ares himself, others called him an 'idiot'. Michael said: "[Belgian Malinois] is not the dog for a first-time pet owner. You have to have experience. I was scared but I was totally focused on the results." Michael wasn't put off by people's comments and kept going. He incorporated his military experience into his training methods and took to social media to document his journey. It was also through his social media that Michael has caught the attention of high-end clients and military around the world, including armed forces in Belgium, Spain and Germany. After becoming a licensed dog trainer, Michael set up his own dog training company, Tactical K9 Family, to take his dreams even further. Michael has purchased a second dog, Athena, and is planning to move to Los Angeles to continue building his business.

He put in the time and work, while developing a strong bond with his dogs. They are working dogs and be put them to work, while exposing the to various situations. People who hate on this guy have no idea how good he naturally is at training dogs. The proof is in the training, and his results are impossible to disprove. A lot of people get hi prey drive/working dogs in the hopes that they will just lounge around and be as lazy as their owners. Mals are not meant to be laying around as they will tear your house apart if not given the proper stimulus they require. Don’t buy this wonderful breed if you aren’t dedicated like this man is to training. My hats off to you sir by doing this breed a wonderful service by showcasing their abilities.

What I like the most about your videos is not only what the dogs can do but how much the dogs love you, trust you, are devoted to you and are visibly having fun and seeing that these dogs would do anything for you.💕 That says a lot about the dogs but also about you as a person. The most obedient dog breed. They, when well trained, are obedient, and will fight for military, and police units. Mainly military. My pup, would jump out of halo jumps at 10,000 feet with me strapped in my lap, with no resistance. I would let her go ten feet from touching the ground, and she instinctively ran around the perimeter as I got set up, to make sure I was safe in the 90s, chasing around drug lords in South America.
They're very, so devoted to us, once we train them. He is very right.
Today is the anniversary day of Stella passing away running in front of me in June 19, 1994. No Ranger wants to lose his dog.
You've done a fantastic job training them. I was gifted to have had 2 Malinois in my life. A mother and son. Loved them with all my heart . Ring Sport, personal protection trained. Responded to German, French and Dutch. Their personalities were hilarious. I was blessed knowing and living with them.💜🐾🐾💜

I started watching your films a couple of weeks ago and I’m extremely impressed with your dogs and the training you have obviously done with them. The time you have put into their training I can see has been many hours of dedicated work. Your dogs are lucky to have you, because they are the type of dog that requires a busy, working lifestyle otherwise they would be bord and unhappy. Now hearing your story, I am even more impressed. They are the Michael Jordan of dogs!! It doesn't matter what others say, whether you have the skills or not. "We all are not born with the skills... It is learned!!" and we all still have more to learn each day! Always remember animals are living breathing creatures that do think. Yes, they think! Having been around horse, cats, dogs etc for over 40+ years, every days an adventure. I just wish I had the opportunity to own one of these phenomenal dogs before getting too old to keep up with one! Loved this video. I’ve been in a dilemma for quite some time now about to get or not to get a malinois. I seen numerous videos why not to get one and so far I’ve not. Always stuck with shepherds and do quite well with them but scared to commit. Think my hang up is I need more training before I attempt such a brilliant dog. I believe shepherds are very intelligent but that would be a step up to the next level. The video gives me inspiration though. Lol

I know the feeling. I had a blk lab. He wasn't like your dogs but he and I were so tight. He cane everywhere with me and listened at first command because he was so bonded with me and wanted to make me happy.

I have trained some dogs in my life. The first dog I trained very well, I trained in the 90's to do retrieval work and she was exemplary when I worked with her. I could make her sit for hours and wait for me out of view if I wanted. She was super intelligent and competent but sadly I read a book about training dogs that used consequences and I have always regretted that. My next dog I didn't work with as well but she was also smart and well trained and it was without having to beat her or cause her distress (the only time she ever suffered me was when I was under a lot of stress in life but not as a part of training). What I learned from her is that if you make life enjoyable for your dog, it makes life enjoyable for you and I'm super glad to have found this trainer's channel.

Bruhhh. Similar story. Always wanted a dog, my mom never gave me the premission. I'm 27 now and about few months ago my girlfreind randomly rescued a puppy and put her into my arms and instantly I was hooked I gave my everything into research and training her (she's not a mal but a mix of working line dogs a shepherd and a hunting dog). 4 months later she's the best trained and best behaved puppy in my town of 46 000 people. 💪🏻😁

I love your dogs ,they’re such beautiful and smart animals. I have Dobermans they are also high energy and super smart, and they like to perform and please. If I was younger id get me a malinois. I’m worried I don’t have the energy anymore. Dobermans take a tremendous amount of energy the first two years, then they chill out a little.

Whilst I admire your commitment & passion for this dog & wanting to be the very best for him; I just think however that possibly all of this military training might be taking things to extreme in just wanting a good family pet. Surely you could have achieved just as much without the surplus military style coaching; there are dog sports competition or similar that would provide for just as much excitement for your dog I am sure. At any rate one is reassured that this dog is getting top level attention from you & family members & that he will have a most wonderful life filled with excitement.
