When I bought the SAMSUNG EL MARCO, I didn't think I could have a good movie experience because of its matte screen, but I was really surprised. Well, everything looks incredible. I had seen and seen different models, some with micro led; but I told myself that if the difference in price was not that much, it is because the visual experience must be good, it also has all the features of high-end televisions, 120HZ screen, Dolby Atmos, 40W of power, Commands by Voice, One Connection, Artificial Intelligence and QSimphony for a more immersive experience. The truth is that it is a product that I recommend blindfolded and because of the matte screen, what I have noticed is that it does not cause visual fatigue, because what use is such a bright television if it is for your room and the television will be less than three meters away to view its content. So I went with the 65'' version and it's beautiful. It was love at first sight.
I hadn't really thought of it, but I agree that overly bright viewing does cause visual fatigue. Yet another reason to get the Frame. Thanks for sharing your observations and experiences.
Have to mention Samsung holding back 120hz and other important things from their smaller sized the frame tvs. Sad, because Samsung came out with the g8, a 4K 240hz 32in monitor
I'm not sure where the details came from on the portrait support but Samsung does offer their Auto Rotating Wall Mount for Frame units from 43 - 65" - this is noted on their website.
I got this directly from Samsung support but their website appears to show otherwise (9::16 Screen Support) thanks for the correction! I should've known better LOL
Since my office really doesn't have a good view, I'm wondering if it would be possible to use this as an artificial window linked to an exterior cam in my backyard garden
This would be a great tv for the kitchen in horizontal mode you can show off art and still watch a good HD picture with DirecTV stream or RUclips tv ect and I don’t know many people who are serious movie watchers in the kitchen.
Hi Fomo, thank you for all the great work you do for all of us. Was curious if I misheard but you said that the Frame is SDR only? Is that correct? Amazon and the link you provided mentions that it is a QLED with HDR. A little confusing so wanted to check. Was thinking of getting a 65” for a bright living room to show art and watch tv. Thank you again for all you do
I'm equally confused. The specs for the Frame show that it supports HDR10 and HDR10+ and Rtings provides metrics. However, I have seen comments from owners that allude to the fact that only SDR is supported in portrait mode.
No, The Frame can receive HDR signals but it would resemble SDR because it simply cannot handle the dynamic range and peak brightness required of HDR. You'd be better off watching HDR content in SDR as it may appear too dark depending on the content
@@stopthefomo can you provide source for this please? And thank you for all that you do. We are looking to upgrade 2014 Bravia 4k (55") with a 75" Frame.
Hi @Fomo, love the content. I bought a 55 inch 22 frame and really like it. Unfortunately I'm waiting on my third TV. The first one had a horrible dirty screen effect. Looked like someone rubbed oily fingers across the screen. The second came with dead pixels on arrival. I'm playing that lottery and hoping the third is better. For watching content those screen defects aren't an issue but it's an eye sore when displaying art. Do you know if poor quality control is a thing for the frame 22 tv? Seems crazy to me that Samsung wouldn't have tighter control over a tv that's meant to be on displaying art. Thanks.
12:36 Comparing ANY tv or phone for that matter from 7, 10, 15 years ago will always be better. Really like this tv, but going to wait 2 more years to be on par with PQ.
After watching your review I bought a 65" and a 75" frame TV. They need an Apple TV for sure so you don't need to see the horrible interface. Very happy with the purchase and need to install a Sanus media in a box that is 17" long t fit the ne connect
Is anyone using a TV or monitor to display movie posters? The frame has some ideal specs for this type of application - slim design, matte finish, image management. But... you pay a premium compared to commercial displays from companies like Samsung.
@Fomo - I enjoy your videos - however this one seemed misleading. I can take your word regarding it's use to show artwork. However, you said it's also your favorite TV (despite owning an S95b) - how can you prefer the Frame for RV viewing over the S95b? It sounded like you appreciate the convenience as this is the TV that you happen to have in your workspace. However, if you had an S95b in your workspace - and wanted to take a TV break - wouldn't you prefer watching on the S95b over the Frame?
Favorite means I use it the most for watching regular SDR content (news, sports, youtube) over the S95B as follows: (1) in a bright mixed use room with overhead lights, S95B and QN90b shows annoying reflections which detracts (2) YES, with HDR movies I would definitely take the time for the S95B, but for streaming guilty pleasures like older shows, Pennyworth or Bridgerton, it really doesn't matter (3) I'm too lazy to leave my editing room when waiting 20 minutes for video export/rendering, I just spin around hit power and the art display switches over to stream the local news or youtube or whatever (4) If The Frame came in QD-OLED, then the QD-OLED version would be my favorite TV - best of both worlds (5) S95B has lots of QC issues like bent panel, warping, etc. which affect the ownership experience whereas The Frame is straight up trouble free - there's major points for this
@@stopthefomo That makes sense - do you rotate the frame screen when watching - or live with the tiny size - as the widescreen image on the portrait mode should really tiny?
Do the brackets that come with the 43 inch frame TV allow you to mount it in portrait or landscape mode or did you have to use some third-party brackets to install it in portrait mode?
I mostly agree but I also think Samsung wanted a way to make the old LED tech something they could still get people to buy because besides the one connect box and the good anti glare coating everything else about it seems to be out dated tech....I really hope they adopt something with at least half decent black levels and an OS that runs smoothly.
65" The Frame LS03, Doesn't work as advertised, Samsung support is non existent. I've had a 3 month battle with Samsung support, they really are just robots who don't know anything about the products they are selling! they just hand you off to the next robot who reads the same trouble shooting cheat sheet. The TV won't even turn on, It failed while on a video call with Samsung, they witnessed it fail, and the tech support won't come out and repair it. When it did turn on The Motion sensor in Art mode does not work as advertised and when questioned about this the tech representative said we have to wait for other people to complain before we fix it! All in all a very disappointing experience. My advice is buy a different brand.
I wonder how much Samsung paid him for this video. I had the 2022 Serif and the matte screen makes the images so dull with not the best veiwing angles. Unless you're watching tv outside in the sun the matte screen makes the picture quality worse. Ended up returning it. Consumer Reports doesn't even recommend The Frame.

It literally says on a product page that it has "Quantum HDR" hence it has HDR and most likely its certified for HDR10+ content
Maybe next year we’ll get a better tv in the frame. I might love the art on the wall instead of a big screen, but I also love my movies. I need both.
The official specs for this TV on Samsung's website say that this TV does have HDR. Where did you read that this TV does NOT have HDR? Thanks.

Did you mount your unit using the auto rotating device or a fixed mount?
For us home theatre fans there is one more use for this tv: Digital movie posters that can be changed all the time!

I have contacted Samsung. The max length for the one connection cable for that tv is 5 meters not 15 meters.
Thanks for all of the info! Does the regular mount that comes with the tv support vertical hanging or did you purchase another mount?

o my goodness I thought I was the only one who came to this conclusion for Samsung. Thanks for the video!
this seems good for me I want a tv in my living room that looks good but I also have lots of huge windows so the matte finish is what im looking for

Hi Fomo, could I use the frames and brackets from the Samsumg Frame TV with the new Samsung S95B?? would that work??
If I had extra money to burn I'd buy one for the kind of TV it is. It could turn out to be a classic in years to come.
I hope you make a video if its better to get a regular non smart/android tv and use an android box or an android tv still outweighs the tv box.

how can you tell from the model number that u buy from best buy is a 2021 or 2022 model?
If it ends in B then it's 2022.
You never explained why you can’t use any tv to display that image or picture. There’s no reason to buy a worse tv just because it says it’s for art
I think it’s because a regular TV will have burn out when it stays on one picture for a long time.
@@somethingelse419 you're confusing LCD with OLED
Probably can use other TVs but it won’t look like picture (art) frame, since most TVs are too thick when hung.
The mat texture adds to the realism of art... a normal TV screen has to much glare and is not realistic for art.
I'd rather have a lower electricity bill than an art display. This would be cool for two months then I would never notice it again 😅
No HDR? Ouch.
