Hi! I’m from New Zealand. We have lots of Asian Supermarkets in our town but our favourite is the Korean one. The owner is so friendly and my children love going there and looking at all the different foods. One day I will take them to Korea (South obviously!) So we can try all of the beautiful dishes you show us! I love Korean cuisine and hope to learn more about the culture xx
Your stories with your cooking remind me so much of my own mother. Everytime she cooks and I'm home she always tells me a story about the mountains in korea and her childhood. :)
I am from Jeonju and it's the regional specialty from my hometown. I brought 3 of my American friends to one of the most famous kongnamul gukbap restaurants in Jeonju and it was their favorite food in Korea......hometown pride
I made this last night because we had lots of leftover rice and beansprouts from making lettuce wraps, and it was perfect. We used the stir fried konbu as a topping. I made a side with zucchini, tomato, and canned tuna. I just ate the leftovers for lunch today. I've always had leftover beansprouts that would go bad, but with this, never again! Thank you!!
What a sweet story and memory! It is wonderful when teacher's leave such a good imprint on a child's life. I loved my 5th grade teacher too! Mrs. Nicolas was amazing teacher. :)
I have been watching so many of your videos the past week. You really inspired me to cook more again! My twin brother loves Korea, and now I get to surprise him with Korean cooking! Thanks so much, and greetings from the Netherlands!
Everything she cooks looks delicious and when Maangchi eats makes you want to join her. Listening to her talk you can tell she has such a good soul. Love you Maangchi wish you many successful years to come.
Maangchi you are so funny 😂 If i go to the kitchen i always watch your youtube chane first and i make some experiense in the kitchen. And it become my habit now... i skip going out with my friends . I wanna be like you the lord of cooking 🤣 even though i'm not korean but i crazy about korean food... korean food is my best fav food ❤ and your recipe is the number 1 for me compare to the other. Your recipe is simple easy to understand... you've been helping a lot of people maangci you know that...? god bless you... ❤
Keep it up maangchi .... your recipe is my next experiment 😁 next month is my birtday i will invite all my friends and i'll cook korean food for them yayyy 👏👏❤
Hi maangchi I'm from india Happy to see your recipes. Really very nice and tasty the way you explain is too good it's just like a mother teach her daughter 😊. Very clear and feel close to my heart. Thankyou god bless you
I am so thankful to my husband for introducing me to Korean cuisine and culture, he lived and taught in South Korea and he speaks the language too, so I got to know about their food, culture, cinema. We go to Korean markets around here and Korean restaurants and we get the chance to chat a bit with Koreans. He got me Maangchi's recipe book. So far I cooked the hangover bone soup and the mushroom soup, they were both pretty good. Thank you Maangchi for teaching and spreading the Korean culture and your people's good spirits around the world.
I am Korean. Thank you very much for introducing our country's food recipe on a foreign channel. Korea has enjoyed gukbab since 500 years ago. This food is really delicious, so I recommend you to try it.
This looks so delicious! My daughter is going to make it for dinner after her trip to the Asian store. We love you and your recipes, cookbooks and videos. Thank you so much! 💕
Thank you so much Maangchi. I watch many many of your videos and I have both your cook books. You are an inspiration. I started learning to cook Korean when my son came home from Korea with a love of the food. I quickly learned that I too love the food! You are such a good teacher. Thanks!
I can relate to your story about your teacher. I grew up in Mexico and my school would close the gates when class started. I was the only student allowed to leave the campus because I was responsible. I must have been 6or 7. I’d go to the convenience store to get my teacher’s favorite bread and if it was cold I’d bring her coffee or a Mexican drink called champurado. She would pay me a peso every day to do this. I felt so proud of myself. Loved your story as it reminded me of my own. Thank you! Love you Maangchi!
Thank you for your videos Maangchi. Your recipes always looks amazing. And your wonderful cheeriness makes me less nervous to attempt these recipes myself. Great view of the city. I look forward to more videos.
I like to see how in so many different cultures food represents aggregation, friendship, family, love, peace... we need that in this world! Go on Maangchi!
Maanchi, I loved your story! Sharing these moments of our lives is very important! As a little girl, you learned about honor and loyalty and respect by that little exercise of carrying hot food for your teacher... And knowing that relationship is very important! You shined even as a little student, receiving an important job because you were trust worthy. Bless you!
Your stories are always so delightful to hear! So glad that you share part of your life history with us. I think it's wonderful to hear the stories that go along with your excellent food. Always waiting for the next amazing recipe :)

It was so spot on! I'm Korean but I'd hardly eaten Korean dishes in my teens, 20s. My mother doesn't cook due to her busy work and lack of interest. And here Korea, eating out is relatively cheap. So we used to just eat out or be given grandma's food growing up. Or just instant noodles with yellow pickled radish. But since I started caring about the environment like climate change, animals and also my health, I turned Vegetarian and realized that Korean dishes are very tasty, healthy, filling. It's got many options for Vegetarian. Now I'm addicted to Korean food for the first time in my life haha. It could be a little spicy, salty but you can always adjust it to your taste. Oh my. I love Korean food and maangchi’s recipes. Her recipes remind me of my grandma's food. It's that traditional and healthy. Love you Maangchi ❤️
