    My grandmother used to play this game. She gave me all her snes and nes games years ago, but haven't got around to it.

      That is so cool that your grandma played video games! You'll have to let me know how you like the game when you get a chance to play it, yourself. :) What other goodies were in her baggie of NES/SNES games? Was Chrono Trigger in there?

    • @RETROtheGAMER
      @RETROtheGAMER 6 лет назад

      Thanks, my grandmother was a big gamer! She bought every Nintendo console up to the gamecube (she liked pikmin). As far as goodies, she had Secret of Evermore, Illusions of Gaia, Mario RPG, Lufia 1 and 2, Megaman X, Castlevania IV, and more on SNES. NES was Mario 1-3, Megan 4 and 5, Tetris 2, and others I'm forgetting. No Chrono Trigger, I'm sure she would like it though.

    Heyyyy the return of my favorite let’s play channel. Missed ya sister. Looking like a great new game entry here. Also you should go around excessively asking questions from now on just to get on those peoples nerves lol.

      LOL, right? I guess the inhabitants of Lennus aren't super fond of having a million questions thrown at them at once. xD

    Holy crap 😅 I JUST finished this game about a month ago for real. This is pretty much my favorite obscure RPG on the SNES...make that 2nd, Lufia & the fortress of doom is #1 on that. The beauty of this game is that not a lot stand out but the story alone can be captivating but it does take commitment to see this game through. I've played through this about 5 times and managed to see it through on my last playtrough.

      Great minds think alike, right? ;)
      The Lufia games are INCREDIBLE. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals still gives me chills when I replay it...
      I'm looking forward to playing through this! I've had it recommended/requested so many times, that I just couldn't put it off any longer. I'm happy to hear that you like it as much as you do. That gives me a lot of hope that the game will be an overall positive experience for me. :)

    Quest time! :P I’m surprised this is your first SNES let’s play. Hopefully it’s the first of many, with the awesome library of games the system has. ;) Paladin’s Quest is actually one that I want to go back and play myself. I remember trying it out many years ago and I couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll play along with your blind run. Good luck, Rabbit!

      I'm a little surprised that it's my first as well. I have quite a few SNES games, and my sister and I both spent a lot of time playing through them in our early teen years... so I really don't know why I haven't had one or two in rotation until now!

    Oh this is gonna be cool (for whatever episodes I watch; I'm bad at sticking with Let's Plays and just check out random episodes, haha).
    I remember reading about this series on HardcoreGaming101 and while the sequel is ostensibly vastly improved, this one is more.... pleasantly weird? Looking forward to seeing that weirdness on display as you go through this! :)

      LOL, don't worry, I do the same thing with LPers I'm following! It's hard to sit through anything that extends 20+ episodes, so hopping in and out is valid, especially if your primary objective is to just keep up with the LPer and not the actual game. :) Glad to have you along for whatever episodes you pop into!

    Wow...I have never even HEARD of this game before! This one's going to be...interesting. Not gonna lie, the visual style doesn't really do it too much for me, but the story sounds interesting, so I'll tag along to see where it leads. Hope your moving went well, Rabbit! :D

      The game certainly feels like it was a lower-budget release, especially when you consider the fact that Secret of Mana also was released in 1993 for NA audiences. By comparison, this game doesn't present itself NEARLY as well, but I'm hopeful that the story will make up for the lack of polish in terms of UI, combat, and visuals. :)

  • @armornick

    This looks like a really early SNES game since later games generally left more place for menu systems. I also get really strong Dragon Quest clone vibes so this probably wasn't a high-budget title. It'll be interesting to see how this goes. You always find the most obscure games instead of the staples like Chrono Trigger ;)

    • @RabbitPlaysGames
      @RabbitPlaysGames  6 лет назад +1

      Haha, I'm gathering it also wasn't super high-budget. Everything I've heard/read since recording these episodes seems to indicate that the sequel was significantly better, and they improved quite a few things. :) Also--I love me some of the classics like Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana, but they're just so overdone that I figured I'd give folks a break with some of the lesser known games out there. :D

    The menu systems of that generation of RPGs were never really intuitive. It's just a step above navigating via DOS. xD My first PS1 RPG was Beyond the Beyond, and it pretty much used this same format of menu, and that was supposed to be better than the SNES era.

    • @RabbitPlaysGames
      @RabbitPlaysGames  6 лет назад

      LOL, I remember Beyond the Beyond (albeit vaguely). These sorts of menus are rough... I sincerely hope the abbreviated titles are supported by descriptions at some point. I'm not that far into gameplay as of yet, and already I'm annoyed by it. xD

    How have you been doing lately? How Is the move going? Hope things ate going well. I've had a pretty full full schedule myself. Also I don't know if you noticed but I commented on a previous video of Brave fencer Musashi about how the directions to get to the Thieve's Hideout worked. I hope I didn't confuse you more. And lennis? Can anyone say Legend of Dragoon....😆

    • @RabbitPlaysGames
      @RabbitPlaysGames  6 лет назад

      I'm doing great! The move was (and still is, to a certain extent) absolutely exhausting. We're still in the process of unpacking and arranging the rooms, but it's been so nice to be here and have considerably more space. We went from a two bedroom apartment to a house with a basement and a free-roaming attic (i.e. bare-bones, loft-style upstairs)... it's wonderful. :)

      Rabbit Plays Games I'm I'm so glad to hear you're doing great and yeah I know how stressful and exhausting moving can be. Before I got the house I'm in I moved 5 times in one year. I hope you find a little more ease when everything is done and set up. And hey look at the bright side now you have a basement to convert into an awesome gaming cave.😊

    I know the playthrough is over but I wanted to explain why everything in the menu is so abbreviated. The SNES hadn't so many characters and so the translators had to cut words. They did the same for Chrono Trigger.

    • @RabbitPlaysGames
      @RabbitPlaysGames  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, the truncations make sense given the limitations of the time, for sure! :) I hate how they chose to do it, though. Fortunately, you really pick up on the abbreviations quickly, so it really wasn't that distracting after an hour or two.

  • @tjcombomofo
    @tjcombomofo 4 года назад

    I love and hate this game. The abbreviations are maddening, especially when it's also a foreign item. They made up all these names, and then also abbreviated them. I think this game had so much potential, but it was poorly executed. What keeps me coming back is the unique world and lore.

    • @RabbitPlaysGames
      @RabbitPlaysGames  4 года назад

      I completely understand where you are coming from. This game is incredibly charming, but it has a lot of glaring issues. I liked it overall, but the abbreviations DEFINITELY took some getting used to.
