    A promising locker for a whopping ten bucks, so: no complaints at all ! 👍 I think that the cash cows this time could be a part of the jewelry (though the necklace was not gold) and the Dr. Seuss book series from the 1960s. Hope you got a real gentleman who was helping you a little bit with the bulky stuff. 😉 And I saw something else: 40 k, 50 k and even 860 k (!) which means the number of clicks on your storage war videos. Well done, Renée, keep it up, and see you on the next one ! 🤞Greets from GER, U.

      Viewers enjoy the storage unit videos & I like seeing what people have stored away, so it's a win-win! Yard sale/garage sale videos are also popular, but I don't have much luck at those, so I'll stick with storage units. If that necklace would have been gold, I would have done really well for sure! Reminds me of that other unit I bought for a low price and there was a gold ring which I got $60 for - made my money & some with just that little piece of jewelry! It's been a busy week here, more storage units coming up! None with my favorite things, but still pretty interesting to look through. I know that my "dream" storage unit will come up some time!

    Dear Renée, like so many of your viewers I love your storage videos. In Germany such auctions are ultra rare. I hope you not only get the 10 dollars back, but also the money for the dumpster, for the gasoline, for the working hours! The storage didn't contain the big ephemera surprise, but at least it didn't contain any old food or dead critters either. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for next time: Old documents! Historical photographs! Vintage Chrismas!
    Best regards from Berlin

      Derartige "Storage Units" gibt es bei uns auch, aber weitaus seltener und meist nur in den Großstädten. Aber Du hast recht, verauktioniert wird der Inhalt bei Nichtzahlung der Miete nicht, vermutlich aus rechtlichen Hinderungsgründen.

    • @PaperandMoose
      @PaperandMoose  4 месяца назад +5

      Hello to another viewer in Germany! No food or dead critters is always a plus for sure! I combined some trash from this unit & another unit, so my dumpster fees were only $30, not bad at all. It's easier to spend $10 on a unit versus spending hundreds on one that has the majority of the contents being trash. I've done well with cheaper units in the past, so gave this one a try!

    Maybe one of the Dr Seuss books will be a winner. I think for ten bucks, you still got some sellable flea market items that should give you a profit. I don't blame you for checking it out. I wouldn't say no to a $10 storage unit. My dad passed away in June and I and my SIL are still going through his things. I came across the hand tooled wallet that my grandmother used to use. It was very well used, and the binding was falling apart, so I took out all of the cards such as medical or reward cards etc. but no money. I pulled the binding out and took the wallet apart, just for the pretty tooled front and it's nice to have a piece of soft leather for something or another. As I pulled it apart, 2 - one-dollar bills flew out. I thought I was pretty thorough looking through it but those must have been tucked in somewhere really tight. I also found a fifty-dollar bill in a thank you card given to my dad. You just never know what you are going to find or where you might find it. Maybe the next $10 storage unit will have a hidden fifty-dollar bill somewhere or some jewelry that is damaged but 14 or 24K gold. Stay optimistic.

But, there are six titles which are no longer published (due to stereotypes that portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong) which you can make some money on. Those six titles are: And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, If I Ran the Zoo, McElligot's Pool, On Beyond Zebra!, Scrambled Eggs Super!, and The Cat's Quizze. Some describe these books as "banned", which is not true. They are not banned. The publisher is just no longer printing any new ones. You CAN sell them on eBay.

    When they upgraded me to a new cable box, they left it behind, so I asked them about it. They said they didn't want it, so I tossed it during spring cleaning week, which is one day a year. Where you could take stuff to the dump, when they wave dumping fees or the town picks it up for free at your home.

      It must be different for each company - my mom upgraded her cable box and was told she had to bring in the old one or she would be charged a monthly "fee" for it. On a sidenote, cable is so expensive & most don't watch half of the channels available!

      @@PaperandMoose My TV went out last year, was not going to pay a bundle for a new one, so I bought a nice tablet instead. I downloaded apps like Tubi, which has movies to watch and some others with old TV shows like Mission Impossible. So I canceled my cable, have not missed it, as I can watch a lot of stuff on my tablet. Got to binge watch all the Hunger Games movies, that was fun, gotta love it.

    The crocheted “blanket” in the first box is actually a table cloth.

    It amazes me that people pay to store basically junk. On the flip side, it’s sad to think maybe this was all they had. And I gotta know why Dr Seuss books can’t be sold on ebay. 😊

    That was not a terible unit, you can make some profit and we had a fun video out of it. I'm taking the opportunity though, since you found some questionable things in there, to suggest you have a narcan set with you just in case. Since you never know what could be in those units, it could save yours or someone else's life. And no, don't open any suspicious bottle next time please!

      For items like the love seat, especially with rain in the forecast, it’s not practical -at least in my area- to put it out for free & hope someone picks it up, especially if it gets soaked from a rainstorm.
