now THAT is a unit!!! lolol even without the electronics, those shelving units more than made your money back.. usually at the bigbox stores for 129.00 plus,,,,
Wow, big score on the McDonalds Drive Through, the garden tools (I like the cultivator), the PS2 with some games, two fridges and a lot of other useful stuff. So, who cares about a few ounces of expired food ! 😅And you are a very disciplined storage checker as well, not spitting... Your facial expression, priceless ("Just throw it out, just throw it out") ! Anyways, my estimate would be around $ 300,- +++ for the whole lot. Well done, Renée, another successful day for you, keep it up ! 👍 Greets from GER, U.
Some others said the non-expired canned goods are okay to donate/eat, but after seeing those maggots, no thank you! Most of the canned items were expired anyway & other things like syrup & oatmeal were half-used. Garden tools are always useful, just have to store them away for a few months before spring is here again! The PSP games turned out not to be any big sellers, but at a few dollars each, should be easy to sell at the flea market. Add this unit to the list of interesting things found in a storage unit!
I loved this! Even your reaction to the maggots. They are just fly larvae. Still gross. It was a good locker. And plus you have some clothing to go through. I love ya! Stay safe, healthy, and blessed.😘💞💞❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌️
Maggot jerky! Full of bugly goodness... Spread on a slice of never-ever-goes-bad bread, and that's good eatin'! I liked the little blue fridge, I hope it was empty! That PSP should sell pretty quick, too.
Expiration dates are for the benefit of grocery stores to rotate & and keep control of stock . It has nothing to do with food safety unless the cans are damaged. Boxes and packaged foods are another thing. Paper is porous and breathes, allowing air to absorb & evaporate. Resulting in loss of freshness, texture & coloring. They are susceptible to bugs more easily. Aluminum sealed pkgs are much better and safely edible much longer, if no punctures. I enjoy these videos very much because I like the adventure of never knowing what you are going to find. Keep them coming.
I bought that exact MacDonalds drive through for my girlfriends little girl well over 30 years ago. Man that brought back a memory I had forgotten all about.
@PaperandMoose I was hoping you'd find the accessories in another bin. I think one of the pop open window frames is also missing but due to the nature of these toys it's impossible to find them complete. Either way it's s cool find. I think you'll do well with the PSP...especially with games included. I used to use mine as an mp3 player...it's got a pretty cool interface on it...games, music, movies etc
The look on your face after discovering the maggots was absolutely precious. 😂 And yes, preservatives galore in the bread. All this aside it looks like you have another win.
A lot of storage units are filled with people who only meant to have it "temporarily" and needed a place to put their things during eviction, sudden move, etc. So, lots of food because they thought they were going to come back in a few days or weeks
I am thinking college student unit. And now is the perfect season to sell the mini fridges to returning students. Love your Golden Rule ethics, do not give junk to thrift shops.
Sometimes I think the “donating” of junk is another reason why some prices are high at thrift shops. Stores figure “Hey, they donated it… Might as well try to sell it before having to pay to throw it out.” The amount of used, stained, take-out food containers that I see at Goodwill with a $1.99 price tag on it is ridiculous. Why would someone donate that? Recycle it & save yourself a trip to the thrift. (I think items like that come from house cleanouts where people just clean out kitchen & donate versus spending the money to throw out in bulk or take a trip to a recycling center.)
Lovely entertainment Renee 😊 you will certainly get more than your money back on that unit, just sorry you had to gag on that ugly stuff!! At least in your summary you managed to laugh it off 😊
When I told the facility, they said "Maybe that's why there was an odor in that hallway." Eek! I don't think so, because I didn't smell anything until I took the lid off of the jar. They better hope another unit doesn't have some rotting food surprises!
You better be careful to not break that jar while transporting it to the dump! Poor Taco would have to sell his van if that smell got loose in there! Maybe you should contact the CDC, and they'll arrange to have that jar buried out in New Mexico, 1/2 mile deep, with all the radioactive waste material! (LOL) I hope that this isn't a trend...old food in storage lockers. We'll see poor Renee dressed head-to-toe in a white 'Tyvek' suit doing these storage unit videos!
You could start your own "weird and disturbing" collection. Starting with the dead mouse in the jar, now you have maggot jerky. Very unusual unit, but I'm glad you were able to get your money back.
We have been preppers/homesteaders since 2004. in 2017 we decided to move from FL to GA...the biggest uhaul, two trips..but, our house was ready, so everything went straight in. in 2022 we needed to move back to FL, my dad had passed and my mom is 87.. Three trips with the biggest uhaul, and our house was not ready for 16 months (should have been half that time but hurricane Ian caused major issues) SOOOOO, yes, there were likly 50 pounds of elbow pasta (all in seal a meal) and other pastas in the unit. I cant even begin to guess how much rice lol. Difference is, if someone had bought our unit, it would have been clear , just the way stuff was sealed, the boxes labeled with expiration years (not that they really matter).. But, opened packages ?? that was just lazy. Could have been worse...my goal in life is to find a storage unit auction that IS canned goods...freeze dryed, dehydrated etc.
What a fun and altogether good storage unit! I hope the maggots were in a well-sealed container and couldn't crawl all over the place 🤢. The renter apparently had two main focuses: Playing and eating. Even MacDonalds had to do with food. I love your storage unit videos, and I love it when you and Taco Stacks help each other out. Fingers crossed that all the electronics and games sell well. And I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that the next storage unit is full of ephemera, not food. Love, from Germany Gabriele - Berlin

That was fun Renee ! The expression on your face at times is hilarious. WHY would anyone store any kind of food - very strange. Looks like you found some good stuff though, so I think you did OK. Did you sell the Hockey Table - I'm sure someone would buy that. Thanks for sharing your adventure - take care 🙂
You made your money back in the first 5 minutes. If packaged or canned food hasn't expired it is perfectly safe (unless the cans are 'blown' and they weren't) - donate to a free pantry. Some good Ebay items and a lot for the flea market stuff. You did very well apart from the wrigglies.🤮 Stay well 😁🦘🦘🦘
You should be able to sell that 7' air hockey table for $40 all day long (assuming it works and I bet it does), maybe even up to $100+ as a best offer.
What a lot of work but a great gamble..it’s a money maker. Congratulations. Bet the renter was a prepper saving food and games for when the world ends. Keep on picking and hunting…always a pleasure to watch.
Wow..EEEWWWW.. maggots .. and all the tea that will make you leak poop. Speaking of repugnant, I caught a scammer yesterday. Someone picked my most expensive item and tried to scam me out of my bank details. I caught it before I did anything stupid, because my son raised me right on the interwebs. Facebook doesn't care about scammers, though, so trying to report it did absolutely nothing. GREAT gaming finds! My kiddo is also a Nintendo Switch gamer. Don't ask my how. The kid is a certified savant with this stuff. He's been working at the University electronics lab since he was 17. Well done with the good finds.
Hi Renee! A real assortment there. Those wire shelves sell in Home Depot for ~$100 to $150, so don't throw them away. You can surely re-sell them! It's almost lunchtime and I'm hungry...so I'll give you 15 cents for the maggot-infested beef jerky, but you'll have to throw in two slices of that old bread, so I can make a sandwich! Deal? (LOL) I often wonder about what happens to the people who rent these storage units, and then for whatever reason abandon them. My guess is that these people rented this storage unit, thinking it would only be for a short while, and then their plans changed, and they eventually just abandoned everything. Human behavior is sure strange sometimes.
That was great fun! I know maggots are disgusting, but having a lifelong career in the medical field, those have been used for a very specific purpose, albeit not beef jerky.😂
Hahaha! What an opening to your video, Renee! Maggots!🤮You found lots of great items for resale in there though. Food in storage...why? You're going to make a lot of $ from this unit. Hugs and happy week, Renee.
I enjoy you finding things. It's real and so like when I'm searching through boxes. And the bread reminded me of when we found a packaged muffin that had rolled under the car seat when we were on a trip and we found it a year later and it look the same. Never got them again. You are fun to hang with. All the best.
Perhaps this unit was the result of an eviction. Having never had that happen to me I don’t know if a landlord is required to store left overs which could explain the food. Sorry about the maggots 😫
I think you do need an subscription for a "Google Home Thinger." You are a treasure Renee. Storage lockers bring out your wonder and glee. I love it. Great content as always.
Hello Renee. I just don't know why people put food in a storage Unit? I can say some of the stuff you got in the Unit will give you your money back. But crawling stuff in jar or boxes are not my thing. I throw those in the trash. Like you said, please don't for the love of God not in a Unit. Throw it out. Love you Renee for all you do for us. God Bless you Sweet Heart. Bigs HUGS 🤗❤️ Mari'a. ❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👍👍👍☕☕☕
Food in storage units, I will never understand that! You made your money back and then some. I about lost it when you found those maggots' I almost lost my lunch when you got a whiff of that and seeing those bugs. G R O S S!! Thanks for another storage unit, I enjoy those.
Won Maggots! 🤣. Was at a store one time and looking at the beef jerky, was a package with fuzzy white mold in it. Guess didn't seal correctly at factory. I gave it the the Peron at the counter, but I still bought some. Those shelves are easy to pull part and put together, just don't loose the plastic clips that hold them in place. Good deal overall 👍👍
The shelves just need a wipe down and they will be an easy sell! One of our friends said that he takes them to an auction and usually gets at least $35 a piece for one! I usually get a package of beef jerky to munch on when I'm driving around Yellowstone, not sure if I'll be able to get that vision of the beef jerky jar out of my head in time for my next trip there.
Hello Renee. So how did you not get sick. I would have for sure. I would have been sick in the maggot bag . Oh my word . People who store food in a unit are gross. 🤢 . That’s great you found the games and ps3 stuff and the hand held game. You did pretty well on this one . Congratulations your almost to 84,000 subscribers. 🎉🎉🎉. Glad you like them!
Thank you beautiful lady for take us a long on this journey.
I enjoy watching your and Tacos storage bin videos. Hoping you find one filled with money.
Renee you had me ROFL talking about the maggots !!😜 ❤all your videos !!🤗❤️
Im sure that smelled awful but you sure gave me a good giggle! Love your posts!
It did smell bad, but I've smelled worse! (House pick where there was a package of rotting hot dogs - one of the worst smells!)
I loved this! Even your reaction to the maggots. They are just fly larvae. Still gross. It was a good locker. And plus you have some clothing to go through. I love ya! Stay safe, healthy, and blessed.😘💞💞❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌️
I t was fun watching you clean out your unit, had a few laughs and am sure you made your money back.
That was a greatly entertaining unit. Thanks for sharing your clear outs they are so much fun and your reactions and joy/disgust are priceless 😂😂
thanks for the video. How fun this one was!

I agree! Hearing Renee's laughter and her expressions really are very entertaining.
I think you did better with your 20$ than Taco did with his 50$ how crazy..❤🇬🇧
I felt bad about his unit, but hopefully the next one will be better!
I bought that exact MacDonalds drive through for my girlfriends little girl well over 30 years ago. Man that brought back a memory I had forgotten all about.
It's a cute little playset!

A profitable unit, besides the food pantry inside.
What a fun unit maggots are a bit much ! Should make plenty of profit 😁🇬🇧❤️
Definitely got your money back 😊
The look on your face after discovering the maggots was absolutely precious. 😂 And yes, preservatives galore in the bread. All this aside it looks like you have another win.
That bread has to be from December 2023. Not a speck of mold anywhere on it, crazy!
So that would make it about 9 months old! It's just about "ripe"! Maybe a little crusty even! Mmmm! Tasty!
Note to self: “ Perhaps it’s best to buy another brand of bread. ?” It raises the question of just how old could some things we’re served be? 😮
@@PaperandMoosemaybe on the iside on the slices. But that really is scary

You can get your money back with just the racks that are holding all the other stuff 😊
The container that the maggots were in is a 70's Pyrex jar worth $20-$40.

Lovely entertainment Renee 😊 you will certainly get more than your money back on that unit, just sorry you had to gag on that ugly stuff!! At least in your summary you managed to laugh it off 😊
Hey there great video you will do well great stuff for flea market thank you for sharing ❤
You are such a trooper for continuing to dig under the food after the maggots. Other than the food, it wasn't that bad! Especially for $20!
The shelving is nice.
There goes that theory, " beef jerky last forever" It appears to be an eviction locker.
There goes that theory!
❤ the shelves look like origami shelves. They should fold flat. But are super heavy. . Built well. I have them
