  • Lexus LBX FWD has hybrid drive train with 1.5l petrol engine (inline-3) + electric. System power: 100 kW (136 HP), FWD, e-CVT. WLTP homologation figures: 4.7 - 4.4 l/100 km combined. I checked Lexus LBX HEV 2024 on a trip with mostly city driving, but also on country roads (sub-urban). Finally I achieved on ~28.8 km (~17.9 mi) distance such fuel consumption (economy): 3.3 l/100 km | 71.3 mpg US | 85.6 mpg UK. Time with combustion engine off (EV mode): 53:30 mm:ss out of 01:06:00 (81%). See the whole trip review.

    Those are some absurd numbers. I put down a deposit on this recently. While it's a bit smaller than our current car (Ford Focus Active), I'm banking on the amount of money this would theoretically save us. Videos like this are extremely helpful to get an actual idea of what the average mileage looks like.

    Great video, thanks! I test drove the basic model two weeks ago, and while I loved the interior and the looks, the 1) noise from the CVT transmission was incredibly upsetting. I found it to be noisy and overall off putting; and, 2) the gauge displays were poor.
    I honestly wished I could have test driven it a little longer, but there was so much traffic that we ended up quitting early because we couldn’t do much with the car.
    The seats and the wheel were very comfortable and Apple Car worked flawlessly.

    Impressive. Ok, no highway test, but still a consumption like my Honda SH300 scooter. I can drive it like a hooligan, and still get that consumption but for a car it's quite impressive. Just shows what a Toyota hybrid system and a comfortable driving style can do.

    • @Schreibtisch1
      @Schreibtisch1 6 месяцев назад +1

      Toyotas can be so efficient. As well as Honda. Just for comparison, my Italian scooter (Piaggio 300cc) consumes more than 5 l/100km when driving like in the video. I'm not driving like a hooligan though 😅

      @fritsified5952 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Schreibtisch1 Are you sure there's nothing wrong with your Piaggio? Tune, air filter, sticky brakes..? That seems like so much. I could barely get my Suzuki SV650 to consume 5l/100km. It was always less (with hooligan driving), only higher speed highway driving it would touch 5 liters.

    • @Schreibtisch1
      @Schreibtisch1 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@fritsified5952 I don't think there's anything wrong with the brakes, everything is relatively new. But these short trips and stop and go traffic in congested areas of the city higher the fuel consumption. As soon as I'm driving out of town, the gas mileage gets better.

      in my opinion if you just do city driving take the yaris cross, the lexus of course has better interior, but more importantly has better sound insulation which is very noticeable on highway

    You are the best real fuel consumption test on the internet. I always check here before I chose what car I want to buy next and I am pretty sure it will be a Lexus. When you will do Lexus UX250h fuel comsuption test?

      These tests were made in different conditions. Test of Yaris Cross is my regular city driving. Lexus LBX is a trip, as you could see with smooth driving outside of the city center. It lowers the consumption.

    • @vincentcheng5709
      @vincentcheng5709 Месяц назад

      the engines and battery packs are not the same. LBX uses a Nickel Metal Hydride battery and its engine has a balancer installed at the bottom. The 2024 top trim Yaris will migrate to this engine spec soon. If you look at the numbers carefully the the engine outputs differ too. The two are similar at first glance but certainly not identical.

      Next time, watch the movie before commenting, please. You will know all details than. The top speed was well over 70 km/h, because the highest speed limit on the road was 60 km/h. So, it is real life driving. Show me all the rules where is written than city and urban driving should be driven on a highway. Even if I made on a highway, how much should it be? 1% is enough, or maybe 20% will be sufficient? Who will judge it?
