Everytime I see an old BMW being service at a non BMW shop 9/10 its usually means someone bought it BMW but don't want to spend BMW repair shop money. 0:14

Dude you dont have to be in a BMW shop to get a BMW worked on. Its all about the tech thats working on it, not the shop. The Tech could be a dealer BMW guy just moonlighting at a indy garage working.

@@OnlineMechanicTips Correct, 100%! But that wasn't my observation.

I would at least check some easy stuff before I just throw a trans at it. A lot of times they are overfilled after rebuilds. I would definitely at least see if the fluid is burnt or has metal in it. But you didn’t mention the issue it was. Side note on the wrangler, I wouldn’t say it is normal for a torque converter to just come apart how you described and those trans have magnet so unless the the torque converter is toasted there’s not going to be metal in the filter.

BMW look cool but man what a mess to fix when they break. "Break My Wallet" strikes again.

They aren't terrible if you have the tools, the right service information and patience. I started at a German dealership when I was a tech -- they're easier to work on than the domestics in my opinion.

2006? E60 530i with a 6 cyl.. They didn't change the "lifetime" trans fluid. That's why it was sent to auction. That cars worth 1k where I am, on a good day.

BMW means bring my wallet😮!I do like the transmissions in the Cherokee but as in any transmission you have change the transmission fluid or service usually helps if you do it in the first 60,000 miles right?

Yeah or maybe 100.000 depending on the car, but if it reaches it’s exceeded limit it’s better to just ran the transmission till you get a new one, some transmissions are literally lifetime but you have no proof to see it , so yeah it’s better
