You Gotta do The Eminem Show too bro cuz this is another Eminem's Great Project and has alot of hits on it just like Without Me,Till I Colapse,Sing for the moment,Superman And other ones 🔥
The "Bad Meets Evil" track they did together makes the album they did together a decade later "Bad Meets Evil: Hell The Sequel" so much better for the long-term fans.
@@screwylooygamingimagine suggesting TES over MMLP. There's not one song on The Eminem Show that is better than any song on MMLP, outside maybe Amityville and Under The Influence and that's debatable. What songs are better than Kill You? Stan? The Way I Am? Remember Me? I'm Back? Drug Ballad? Criminal, etc? Not even close but the people who say TES is his best album all fall into the same categories.
Everyone can relate to rock bottom to some extent
You know, it's funny.I remember the first I ever heard my name is And it was watching the video on m t v But if you've ever seen it , you will know that the Video is so censored and so many lyrics are changed. It actually makes the song terrible. So my first impression was wow. Here goes another vanilla ice
@@FURTHER_ADOhe didn’t request MMLP because he already reacted to MMLP way before this reaction.
Eminem’s beef with Lauren Hill comes from this statement she made in 1997 “I’d rather die than have a white person buy one of my albums.”
Yo, when this came out in '99. I was in my room in my parents house with my jaw hanging open for this WHOLE ALBUM! DOPEST WORK!
I was in jail and I heard it on the Westwood show on the radio. I remember turning to my cellmate and saying 'he's white! He is a f'king white boy!'
My cellmate was not having it, only white rappers that had ANY respect in the game at that point were Everlast and MC Search! And the Gas Face was long gone by then!
Also, like Hijack and the Rhyme Syndicate, I got Outta Jail, sorted my shit out and now I'm free to comment on RUclips videos. Love to all y'all. 😎
@@jinius75enjoy that freedom homie
@@kollincarpenter4909 everyday 💕
I was walking from Sam Goody. N almost got hit by a car cuz I wasnt paying attention to where I was going. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. Shit was 🔥🔥🔥
I was in the gym locker room at Northern High, Durham NC. Heard a dude just yell “I don’t care what nobody say. THIS WHITE BOY IS DOPE!!!”
Homie handed me the headphones to his Discman and changed my life 🔥
From Brain Damage: DeAngelo Bailey actually sued Eminem for slander, but the case was dismissed because Bailey actually did that shit.
Yo to hear you were homeless after high school breaks my heart! I’m glad to see your mindset is straight and you doing well. Prosper young homie!
Appreciate that my guy 💯💯🖤
@@KingAhmadTv Strong young man🔥 much love brother..
Eminem to me one of the best rappers ever. The way his storylines his vocabulary of his rhymes is funny but the best. Eminem is a legend. Period.
for sure bro. ppl talk shit on eminem are legit braindead or sum lolol how can u deny this talent
Definitely can't deny Ems talent for sure.
Old Em Was One Of The Craziest MFs Who Was A Absolute Problem, SSLP And MMLP Showcased It Perfectly
He did Ken Kaniffe for prank phone calls and actually was on the old prank call show “Crank Yankers”
As people have said, re listen to "Kim" first and then "97 Bonnie and Clyde" to complete the story in order. Also, the chorus on "97 Bonnie and Clyde" when he sings Just the two of us is a play on a Will Smith song "Just the two of us" that Will Smith dedicated to his son and was popular around that time. Obviously, Will Smith's version was a heartfelt record to his son, whereas Eminem's more dark. Will Smith won the grammy around the time for best rap album and he went on stage saying he doesn't have to cuss on his record to sell. This prompted Eminem to make fun of him in the "Forgot about Dre" video and on the "Real Slim Shady" song.
I actually never put that together of that's why Will said that at the awards because Eminem took his song. There's also a story out there of Em meeting Will in some recording studio telling him he admired him and playing the track for Will and Will told Em he's either going to be forgotten about or the biggest thing ever. So then Will goes on stage sneak dissing him? It's kind of out of line and I see why Em went hard at him after that.
@@cbfwebs wikipedia actually calls it a parody of Will Smith's song. I wouldn't go that far. I think it was a more creative spin on it.
@@cbfwebsI think it was Kid Rock in that story, not Smith. I’m pretty sure.
the will Smith song is also a remake of an older song I forget who it's by though
"Will Smith don't gotta cuss in his raps but sells records, well I do, so fuck him, and fuck you too " 🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥
Before he was a household name a friend brought me this on cassette. We were in senior yr I believe. Just Chilling drinking. This shit had us dying. I saw him in concert that year at Worcester palladium. I dont think he ever did a show that small again. This album is lit 😂
Came to see him perform at the Roxy (Houston) back in March 1999. He was still building an audience and the club was not crowded. Saw him and Proof get booed off the stage...rough crowd...ppl throwing drinks at them too. They didn't even get to finish "My Name is..." because of "sound system issues". I was pissssssed!
Damn great memories I feel like back then we liked it more and it was more magical nowadays you listen to everything on the internet or streaming service
@@FeelMeGuiltygood story tho, you must be happy right now to know you can say you seen his character building moments that were essential for his career, watching him get booed off stage is awesome im jealous
Royce and Eminem are a Duo called Bad Meets Evil and they got an album together called "Hell the Sequel"
Eminem talks about the role model theme a lot in his songs. Go back and listen to Renegade with him and Jay. He mocks kids for following in his messed up shoes and the parents who try to blame him (and/or rap music) for being a bad influence. He pretty much absolves himself from any responsibility when it comes to making a bad impression. Heck, the beginning of this album says to not attempt anything you hear on the record.
Exactly
It's fun to see you react to albums like this. You put me back to when I 1st heard "My Name Is, Brain Damage"etc. I have his 1st 4 albums but I haven't heard them since in yrs, nostalgia kickin in
Classic album. This is the album that made him famous and then a superstar. Yes infinite was first but people didnt know about that until after this.
Yeah true infinite flopped at the time but then Slim Shady was born 🙌🏽
Slim shady ep was fire in 1998
After Infinite flopped, he switched up his whole style that he took from an underground rapper named Cage.. Took his whole style and alter-ego stuff and ran with it and made it better
SSLP made him famous, MMLP made him a superstar, Eminem Show made him a hall of fame generational icon
@@sloppychefmusic His strong comeback some years ago made him one of the GOATs.
Eminem was protested and demonstrated against congress held hearings
He's such a good storyteller, and changing into different characters, you don't even realize how good the rapping is. His ad libs aren't just goofy yelps, they actually add to the content of the songs. I was hooked from the first time I heard this album, and am still a fan now, 50 years old and amazed that he's still getting better.
bro ur laugh is so contagious i can tell ur reactions are genuine cuz eminem is legit hilarious.. u got me DEAD over here bro at 1030am on a sunday
54:44 - He actually did make a cartoon called The Slim Shady Show. When he released The Eminem Show he had a deluxe DVD that included a few episodes
Bet. Imma check it out 💯💯
Rock Bottom is in permanent rotation whenever I'm going thru it. Btw A Change Gone Come is another.... highly recommended
Slim Shady LP is Em's dopest album, the lyrical dexterity and punchlines still hit in 2023
SSLP = Kobe
Em Show= Lebron
MMLP = Jordan
I remember being 9 and listening to this secretly on a blank cassette that my older sisters friend had copied for me
This is still a great record and I'm 32 now
My favourite Eminem project 🔥 probably the only album to have me rolling from start to finish 😂
The Kim song comes before this song. So if you listen to Kim and 97 Bonnie and Clyde it's a complete story
My favorite Em Album. He never snapped like this again
Damn just finished and heard you say you heard Eminem show ready. Recovery and MMLP 2 (plus the bonus tracks) are good. Lupe Fiasco's first 2 albums are good. Finally, not sure if you ever heard of Little Brother but their first two albums are great. The Listening and The Minstrel Show.
If I Had and Rock Bottom are my favorite tracks on this. I can still listen to them all day
** nice reaction!! You had mentioned that you really liked when Em gets personal (ie Rock Bottom), then you have to review his RECOVERY album. This was his big critical and commercial comeback album after he sort of fell off. And a lot of personal songs on it. I’m sure you’ve heard some smash hits off of it too. You’d love it for sure 👍🏼
Eww
If you like when Em gets personal there's some tracks on the Eminem Show album. For years that's been my favorite one. That's when he really started mastering insane flows to the beat.
Was the song Don't do drugs on all copies of The Eminem show?
I played Bad Meets Evil on a loop for 8 months when this dropped. Started checking for EVERYTHING that Royce was on after this..
He actually did make a cartoon, The Slim Shady Show. It was released alongside The Eminem Show
What the Lauryn Hill thing is about. An apocryphal quote from 1996-in which it was asserted that Hill once said she’d rather her children starve than have white people buy her albums
Nah. He said, "I'm dumb enough to walk in the store and steal, so I'm dumb enough to ask for a date with Lauryn Hill". Her debut album was "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". People who are miseducated are considered dumb, hence Em saying he's DUMB enough to ask her on a date
For people like me who don’t know what apocryphal means: she didn’t say that. people thought she did.
Big props for the Pun shoutout, highly underrated as potentially the best spitter ever.
Hey brother... wonderful reaction. Thank you for reminding me (us) how crazy this album was
I have a ton of respect for you to be honest about going thru life's struggles
Fosho 💯🙏🏾
Fun fact: 97 Bonnie and Clyde is the song after Kim on the MMLP. Play those songs in order, he made Kim a prequel for 97 B&C
And Tupac has a song ‘90 something Bonnie and Clyde” and I think he sings “just me and my girlfriend”-
But in the song Tupac is talking about his pew pew not really a girl.
So that song is so multi-layered with the will smith tie in and the Tupac tie ins, plus the original lore of Bonnie and Clyde the criminal outlaws. And then singing in a sing song voice to a toddler with her baby gibberish vocals included? It’s an amazing song!!
They tried cancelling him back in the day too
The other crazy part about “97 Bonnie and Clyde” is that Eminem’s daughter really was in the studio with him when he recorded it and lied to Kim about it. He told her he was taking her to Chuck E. Cheese
I seen a story about that too 😂😂🤯
I relate to rock bottom the same exact way you do homie. Homeless throughout senior year man literally just walking down the streets with this shi in my headphones just KNOWING there’s a better life out there fr. Glad u made it out that stuff though great reaction. 💯 💯
Lauryn Hill was rumored (never confirmed) to have said she’d rather see her children starve than have white people buy her music, that’s the root of all the references.
Back when a lot more rappers had a sense of pride
@@nbayoungkobThat’s not the good kind of pride.
@@MrThankman360 yes it is
@@nbayoungkob the fuck is the matter with you.
Man, you know Andre 3000 is as unique as they get.
This was a great one to react to because if you didn't know what to expect it would definitely get some reactions out of you, as it did! 😂 I liked to see you literally react to my favorite lines on this album, because when I heard it on it's release day it was just me and my boy in the car on a hot day and that was 25+years ago. He was the only one that we shared a reaction on it, and I feel like you sharing yours, it's like I'm there with you bro! I think sharing music and listening together is a lost art in itself.. but about the album, it just kept going right? One gem after another, visual storytelling, and tops the icing on the cake with the Royce feature. This is the result of talent and hunger together! 💯
lauren hill said in an interview that she would rather have her kids starve than have white people buy her music, so em took that personally
Gotta check out the EP version of it as well. Just as dope
Yep, the intro showed what I needed for the video. Anyway, thanks for the reaction. New subscriber and was just about to comment to react to this album.
Royce is so underrated for real. Glad you gave him some love on Bad Meets Evil
This was the first full album i ever bought. I was 11 and i bought this on CASETTE TAPE. This shit changed my understanding of reality lmao. Definitely an iconic album for what it is and for the impact on me
This was my first album I ever bought as well. Never listened to rap till Eminem so I’m guessing there are millions of people that got put on rap cuz of Em.
mushrooms are fun, acid is more for experienced psychonauts. but if you not totally open for it, dont do it.
This prbably my fav reaction I've ever seen🔥🔥
great vid bro, your reactions and laughs come off super genuine💯
Yo, this took me back when I first heard this album had for the first time i had similar reactions to songs and lyrics 😭 it's prolly the first CD I ever bought and might be my fav Em album I had no issues listening to it from beginning to end.. the production is solid and made me realize how good of a storyteller Em is plus I always thought the album cover was dope. I'm new to the channel definitely gonna sub.
This video funny as hell. Love your reactions.
This is just raw Slim Shady! back when he was free to just rhyme
Yo, can you do a album review of Sticky Fingaz "Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones"
First time I heard a album that was made like a movie. Super slept on album.
Waited so long for this Tysm
Love this album and all of the points he is getting across. Especially in songs like Role Model. Using shock value to prove a point catches attention and works wonders.
FYI that's not actually how psychedelics work. There's a sunset called delirium that's the evil shit. Mushrooms just make you feel nice and things look more.vibrant and saturated
Also weed is not a psychedelic loll
I see a few people saying this in the comments: "'97 Bonnie and Clyde" is basically the sequel to "Kim". You gotta remember, on the song he had Hailie sleep in the car while he was arguing with Kim. Plus on "Kim" he already killed the man he was "cheating" on Em with and his son which was two other things he needed help with in the trunk on the end of this song. How he put this together in a two album span is crazy though
You should do some more Royce….. Dudes been consistent forever 🔥🔥
Love seeing reactors appreciate Ems talent and not be embarrassed or whatever, due to the whole white/black dumb BS.
🤙🔥
You're a great reactor
By the way, Im Mexican-American 🇺🇲🇲🇽
Salute my guy 💯💯💪🏾
Sorry I missed the live...This is one of those ONES!!!!!
In “I just don’t give a fuck” when he says “I melt vanilla ice like silicone”, he actually drops the names of 6 white rappers within those few bars.
Pete Nice
MC Serch
Milk Bone
Everlast
Vanilla Ice
Snow
Oh, they tried to cancel Em .. but it did not work lol
He's like the Steven King of rap. Or the Quentin Tarantino of rap. That is the beauty of art. The fact that he can paint such visible images in your head is AMAZING!
Completely 🔥 reaction, to an incredible album. Had so much fun with this one. Can’t wait for your next Em album listen.
Writing this comment at time stamp 0:15 seconds. This album is fire and will have you appalled but in a good way.
This is a classic albums, he went back to back classics. Can’t wait to see your review …. Especially since I had this album 2000 when I was 13 sheesh, and still hear wild shit slim says upon re listens.
That world turns round and round sheesh 😂
97 Bonnie Clyde him and his daughter for 2pac it was him and his 45 lol classic rerendering of a song
His old shit like this is great, I just love these kinda songs from him especially the ones where he does his accents. 💯
I'm so glad you did this, but for different reasons than most. I had actually never listened to this beginning to end before. This came out during high school, when I was hustling and hanging with mostly black guys who absolutely HATED eminem until he signed 50 Cent, then lolll Eminem was the cool white boy just like me loll, but because I didnt wanna seem like a lame (I was 15/16 and this was the late 90s, I didn't have the guts to be different like kids today do)I didn't really fuck with this album or MMLP until later years, I've def went through MMLP a few times now, but I never did go back to this one, so this was also a first listen for one of your most experienced listeners as well, dope album, totally get why other kids gravitatied to him and his music, there really wasn't much else besides club music, underground and gangsta rap, this was def one of the first albums to bend those norms
I like the Psycho 2 (1983) reference
"I never meant to hit you over the head with that shovel"
The Eminem show is a must!
Come on, up we go! (This is something that we said in my country when you are in a bad moment....translated is like Vamos arriba!) You got up, and that's what matters... you're one of my favorite reactors... keep going! Greetings from Uruguay (South America)
AZ on that all time underrated list for sure. Pieces of a Man is one of the best hip hop albums of the 90’s IMO
I noticed you don’t have any Spice 1 from the Bay Area and you should do 187 proof which is a song that he tells a story using nothing but names of alcohol..it’s 🔥
Bro u gotta do The Eminem Show next! Dope reactor, i always enjoy watchin ur shit while smoking a joint, bless up bro
Didn't really like Hi my name is when it came out, so I basically ignored him until I heard his features on Dre's 2001, borrowed the slim shady lp cd of a friend and was blown away. Rock bottom and bad meets evil are still on my playlist, almost 25 years later.
I remember when the bully from Brain Damage D Angelo Bailey actually sued Em. I don't remember what year that happened.
This is probably my most listened to album😂. Great reaction man
Appreciate that bro 💯💪🏾
Fantastic review of the Sslp man.
You being from Detroit you should also def review infinite if you want.
YES PLEASE on Infinite
Got a song request for ya: Fantastic 4 by dj clue. It features Cam’Ron, big pun, Noreaga, and Canibus, and all four of them go extremely bonkers on it. Definitely a song to check out, and it’s on the professional album by clue, which is such a sick album
This is my number one Eminem album I don't care what nobody say and always been my favorite beat is the end of the album that's my number one song
You think Em wasn't getting protested everywhere he went when this dropped? Why do you think the next album is so angry?
Hey Ahmad , I'd love to see you review Canibus, he's so under appreciated when it comes to these reaction channels, but he's top 5 rappers oat
The Eminem Show needs to be next
There are few only a few that were so different and yet so brilliant that they not only changed their genre of music but of music as a whole. Those are Nirvana's "Nevermind" N.W.A "Straight outta Compton" and this album. Damn do I miss when artists made albums not just songs! Why do we always feel the need to improve things that don't need improving!?
You had me dying of laughing so hard about talking to trees cause of drugs xD
Great reaction haha😂 eminem one of the greatest ever 💯💪🔥 from the netherlands🇳🇱
That album is classic and 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sorry been crazy busy just got around to this watching this.you never disappoint bruh that's why you the MF 👑 with these reactions! ✌️&❤️ my dude.
Classic album....
You gotta do MOP - Warriors
Eminem Show is next. Perfectly executed album.
Great video man, he apologized to Kim on the song Bad Husband for Bonnie and Clyde 97 and Kim. But yeah those songs are wild lol.
edit: this album has mostly Slim Shady, but I think songs like "If I Had" or "Rock Bottom" are actually Eminem or Marshall, but most of them are Slim
I agree Big Pun, MF DOOM, and Eminem can make a beat with their words, the "real" beat is secondary, you wanna listen to them first.
Out of all reactions I've seen, you seem to be the only one genuinely having fun listening lol. New sub🔥
Gotta check out The Bad Meets Evil album with Eminem & Royce
That wee-wee in pre-school line is still the most shocking bar I’ve ever heard 😂😂😂
I first heard this at my friends house, he lived 10 feet next to the convenient store, so we used to go buy blunts and then hang out at his house, I listened to metal at the time but immediately like this album.
I preordered this on CD after reading about Dr Dre signing a new guy in a magazine back in 1999. It was before "My Name Is..." so I wasn't sure dude was white at first. Just Don't Give a Fuck just went so hard on the lyricism, naming basically every white rapper, Pete Nice, MC Serch, Everlast, Vanilla Ice, Snow... jfc. After dousing the track with gasoline the end of that verse is the lit match.
"Extortionist, snortin', supportin' abortion
Pathological liar, blowin' shit outta proportion
The looniest, zaniest, spontaneous, sporadic
Impulsive thinker, compulsive drinker, addict
Half animal, half man
Dumpin' yo' dead body inside of a fuckin' trash can
With more holes than an afghan"
That whole album was like the first time everyone here Kendrick's verse on Control, where suddenly everyone who loved hip hop had to pause as something great just happened. The shock value and humor made him stand out in pop culture but underneath all the heads recognized that this underground dude from Detroit had BARS.
I'm here. 🙋🏿 Watching now. Looking forward to it.
I'm sorry, but on brain damage, he was the common denominator. Something tells me he's only telling his side of the story. 😂 He's leaving out what he did to cause those people to be sick of his ish. the principal and nurse knows what really caused that bully to want to kick his ass. They were happy he was gonna finally get his
😂
Just the two of us: He lying at the end. He ain't gonna be there for his daughter... he's gonna be in jail 😅😅
Rock Bottom: If he ain't throw the mom, new step-dad, and half brother in the lake, his kid would've had diapers and stuff.😅
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Great reaction! I love how you did the whole album and you only stopped it for short periods which didn't kill the flow like most channels. Good job
Em has his own mini animated series that came out in the early 2000s
Your right about just don’t give fuck song being older that song actually got radio play not day time mainstream play but late night 12am and after and DJs would play underground artist
