Thanks for posting these. The old single shot .22s are lots of fun, and the various actions are fascinating. A barrel liner would make a longer range shooter out of her, perhaps at the expense of collector value (if she's in good enough condition to have any). And, I have found that new screws and pins can tighten up loose actions - might be worth a try. I shoot a lot of shorts and cb longs, too . . . .
I bet if you spaced the breach plate just a hair and all a steel shim itl handle the pressure of a high velocity .22 the barrel should be fine but you can always get it lined. A barrel liner is 25 bucks on ebay, that will increase you accuracy too. I made a .22 break barrel competition pistol completely from scratch with only mild steel and it holds up to high velocity ammo no problem
I think your prior video on this gun showed that the rifling was in bad shape. This would explain the keyholing. Combine that with the expanded cases (which I believe stem from an eroded chamber and not a headspacing issue, unless that countersink where the rim sits is really chewed up), I wonder if one couldn't bore out the barrel and chamber and press in a rifled insert. At that point, though, you gotta determine if the gun is worth the work you'd put into it.
The bore is in pretty bad shape. The only useable rounds are the subsonic 22s at limited range, anything more powerful then... Well you saw it lol I'm going to keep it as is, the more I clean it up the better it looks though. It's a neat little rifle
Do you know what the flat spring thing is for on the left side of the breech block? Edit: looks like the gun prefers 22lr std velocity and higher. Theres less gas escape at the breech than it had with short and subs.
Technically yes but at very short range and only small game. I would say squirrels at max due to range and low velocity. Maybe a rabbit if you can get close enough. My particular rifle is not suitable for modern ammunition, as you saw in the video, however I have seen newer models of this rifle that are capable. Thanks for watching!

Cool little rifle. I get bored watching reviews of modern guns. I love the old guns

My grandpa had one of those and we could only shoot .22 shorts or longs out of it. .22 lr was too much juice.

I always thought that they were air rifles and chambered in .25 air gun pellets.

The higher velocity caused tumbling unfortunately. If I remember right, the leaf spring was for the chocking mechanism
Hej, co sypałeś do podpórki piasek?
Sand?
Get it re lined....
Actually does ok, plus I want to keep it in original condition
Can you try to hunt with this gun .
