    surprised you didn't spend any time on spider-based power meters, which are generally considered the most accurate as far as I've read

    How is spider based power meter comparing to crank based power meter ? I am not sure how the power measurement of the spider based one, when the manufacturer said that it has a left-right balanced output? Is it doubling the power data, similar to one crank arm power meter?

    If you get Wahoo kickr Snap or Core, do you still need a power meter?

    What about the velocomp powerpod? They claim to be as accurate as any other power meter and can hold separate data for I think up to 4 bikes so you can swap between them easily. I've got the V4, got frowned on at my local TT, was told they couldn't possibly be accurate.

    Its not necessarily the cost of the specific power meter that gets people, its the Garmin computer one needs to then buy to be able to actually utilize the data… 😕. Any cost effective recommendations?? I can easily find some good single sided Shimano crank meters for a few hundred bucks, but like I said, you then need to spend 1k on a freaking computer…

      Power Pedals. Then when you upgrade you can take them to the next bike.

    spider power meter ?

    • @yonglingng5640
      @yonglingng5640 2 года назад

      This is my current preference when I get one some day. My reason being they may not be as prone to showing power spikes in the power graph as I go over bumpy sections when I'm not pedaling and am standing with my pedals level since the deflection is detected in the spider, which mostly happens when you put the power down when pedaling.

    Anyways its not impossiblento do a artificial powermeter just by a triangular equations... . Cadence meter, gradient and speed sensor... the only need is too hack or reformat the bike computer or update the bike computer (or even hacking the system for good like surgeries on circuit board of the device, tapping wire and inserting it to a computer as the formater.).. .
    As a mathematecian and with tons of IT EXPERTS(firend)... THE JOB IS GUARANTEED POSSIBLE..
    It is good if bike computer brand could build a cheaper bike computer with a artificial Intelligence computing other mechanics... like power meter, calories blahblahblah-depends on weigth of the rider(statistics of cyclist ect). A bike with auto calculations in computer... . A cheaper and accurate also...

    I do weekends rides, spinning, grand fondos and occasionally a few crits. Because I not gonna ride in the World Tour or any other pro team, why waste money on a power meter. I don't understand the obsession of having a power meter if you are not a pro rider...period.
