There were some valuable things there that got overlooked. The fact that the old bloke had an eye for quality collectables was a major clue. The Cannondale bicycle is actually worth a lot of money. They're made from high grade carbon fibre and are handcrafted. For these reasons, they're only made in small quantities. The safes were also worth a lot of money. Even if you had drilled out the locks, people would have still payed a lot of money for them and then put in new locking systems. The wooden chairs, going by the design and fittings, are most likely either anitques or been crafted by a cabinet maker french polisher but more likely both. (The top back of the chair runs all the way through to the bottom back legs of the chair and then fitted with metal fixtures for extra reinforcement. They're well made, sturdy and long lasting, probably also made from quality wood.) I'd check the years on all of those coins as well. Also, the container everything came in..worth money in itself..but converted into a donger, they make for an excellent affordable little cabin home or office, that can be moved between locations when needed. :) PS. I love your videos. Keep up the good work. :)

Here in the U.S., a forty in decent, seaworthy shape will easily fetch $4,000 USD, perhaps more depending on location in proximity to a port city or intermodal hub. Worst-case scenario, a scrap/salvage company will give a nice chunk of change for it, but looked to be in nice shape. Cheers!

That dust, I'd wager a good part of it is 'jewellers dust' mixed in with clay from the safe's inner wall. A lot of jewellers will save their shavings in a container of sorts to melt down when they have a good bit of it.

All that "dirt and dust" in the safe is actually probably meant to go the smelter. Jewelers create a lot of gold dust as they are sawing and filing material, and it is common practice to collect and save that dust to send it to the smelter. That "dirt" can be worth it's weight in gold, literally! Jewelers typically keep rugs under their stations to capture the shavings and then vacuum them up, save what the vacuum collects, and after they have accumulated enough send that and even the carpet itself to the smelter. You can get ounces of precious metal back from stuff that looks like plain dirt.

It has been a huge battle over years and years to get to the point where Im a lot better mentally even if physically Im getting worse and its a daily battle to even sit up anymore. I live alone and I have no one who even checks on me every once in a while. If your willing to hang onto the stuff I promise to make payments on the items. I would love to listen to the records daily and Im pretty sure my daughter will let my grandson have the trains. If she doesnt I will write up a will just to leave the train sets to my grandson. Meh antique safes don't go for a ton of money. Some by famous brands can be a few grand but you'd be looking at less than a grand each if they aren't anything special. The cost of a locksmith to come out and pick them instead of drilling would be fairly pricey since there's not a lot of real safe lockpickers about. Plus, less video content
Just looked it up - They are george titterton safes, nothing special. Similar sized ones from 1900 sell at auction for ~£100 for the smaller one and ~£200 for the larger one

Next we have the fact that a car, which they claimed sat for 10 years still had air in its tires. Air will leak out of a cars tire over a year and tires will start to decompose if left in one position for too long. next we have the fact the car started. gasoline is quick to vaporize out of a car that is left alone for more than a year, leaving a thick sticky residue behind, simply put the car wouldn’t be able to start. Watch how when the car was towed, It was towed with a tarp covering It. this would never be done because to tow a car you need to first put It in neutral with parking break off to avoid seriously damaging it. for storage cars are left in park, with parking break on- esp. in a unit for international travel (story about unit was supposed to go to australia) to accomplish this the tarp would be taken off. Next look at the parts of the video involving the safe. any profit seeking venture would have opened these safes with a lock smith, not destroying the thousands the safes themselves would sell for. Then watch him rut around the dirt for gold coins, notice how the dirt pile keeps getting bigger, why is their dirt at all? Notice when he opens the safes , he uses bigger equipment each time, this is for the sake of the video, there was no need for a digger, he could have easily used a cutting wheel grinder and not risked destroying the contents. What I believe happened is Eddie worked with the auction house to stage a fun youtube video of opening a mysterious crate and finding cool items inside, items that were most likely owned or for sale by auction house and was then returned to the auction house after filming. with eddie likely paying for the safes he destroyed and for use of the items to film.

For anyone thinking on storing anything long time in the shipping container like this, i highly suggest you ether get dehumidifier or very least put few bags of crystal cat litter in the container as well. That cat litter will pull moisture out of the container and things wont mold as easy. Cat litter can absorb air moisture over time and you can reuse it by heating it to evaporate moisture from the material.
To check the material, how about going to drift store to get a sieve to filter the dirt trough, or how about calling a locksmith.. he could have gone into those with out wrecking them and one of those sell pretty penny, specially the old ones. Your head, not your muscles, but when you have money to waste like that guess it does not matter...
Also when you find vehicle like this in storage that has sit long long time, dont even ATTEMPT to start it. You first drain the old fuel out, replace the battery, check the cylinders and fuel lines, check the brakes and replace the brake fluid since it has to have pulled all the moisture into it and in general for any leaks, check the oil and coolant, REPLACE THE TIMING BELT and then you can start trying to get it running. Trying to start it could cause old timing belt to snap and now you have lovely vehicle with wrecked engine and need to do full rebuild. His fucking lucky belt didnt snap or chain tensioner didnt fail. Not going to check witch it has but in general that is very much possibility. If belt is 5 years old even if it was just replaced before putting in storage, replace it and while at it might as well replace belt tensioner.
Also diamonds are worthless, just artificially made valuable by one company owning 90% of world diamonds and very slowly releasing them.
