In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
Love it! I built some actual hobbit holes on live streams if you want to see it. Going to be finishing the 'Shire' build when I'm back from being sick.
Yes this base was a very detailed oriented base being that it was almost entirely interior work. Also yes the edits are much more cleaned up in this one compared to the last. I had a few useful comments in the last video hinting that I should do that(thanks). Its always tricky beginning a new video format (base tours) so it was nice to have some constructive criticism in the comments to help me switch over quicker.
@@9byte Beautiful work I was wondering can you make apartment I don't have time to mess around with the game so I was wondering how it will look in game 😊
For all the stuff displayed in the cubby holes, like armour, weapons, treasure, if you have spare money around, I recommend buying a few Dvergr Circlets and putting them on wall item stands to use as spotlights. It really adds a nice effect.
You can friend. You can find clusters of these rocks in the Black Forest biome to build under. No mod needed. Just make sure to make backups when you are cutting into the rocks so that you dont cut a permanent hole in your ceiling!
I used a Troll Cave rock with another rock next to it. I covered over the entrance portal and now it serves as a secret little area with a small chest accessible through my bedroom door.
Yes just find multiple of these stones together in the forest and make back ups when you make risky cuts into them. I've found 5 of these rocks touching naturally that you could use, I'm sure you could even find more.

This has such a cozy and refined feel to it. There’s so much uniqueness I’ve never seen in a build before too. Like the cubbies, wall portal, hallway displays, and the bathroom. Super creative. The only thing this is missing is a bar! Originally before you showed us the hallway, I thought the potion area below the kegs was accessible as a bar area but it was just hallway. (Coolest hallway ever tho)
Oh nice new ideas, thanks! I always try to put ideas that I haven't seen before but I've never thought of a bar! Much appreciated for the kind words. :)
@@eloryosnak4100 kind of. You can only raise the ground to a certain degree by set amount of height from the original ground (the one created by worldgen). So you would still have to find a slope for that but technically yes
I've watched a LOT of Valheim base builds and this by far my favorite. It's not the biggest or most technically intricate, but I would actually use this base. It's not only beautiful, its functional. Love it.
Ayeeee that's awesome. I wanted functionality to be a big part of the build but still have it looking good and the cave gave me a great opportunity to go all out on the details. Thanks for stopping by!
honestly amazing! there's me in my big wooden box, here you living the dream in your ultimate man cave....a part of me wants to hate it just because im jealous xD nah seriously though, great work! thanks for the inspiration!
haha thank you friend and no problem! and hey man.. just keep building and in no time that wooden box is going to be a beach bungalo summer getaway! hahaha
If you were to do this again, you could use the build camera mod to go inside the rock to see which chunks would open it to the sky if mined. Base looks great though! Built my first hobbit hole just under a singular rock and it was so fun filling out the interior. Gonna keep an eye out for a triple rock to build something a bit bigger, maybe get some smelters in if I'm lucky!
Well yes but only if you are under a rock. You need the rock to be the roof. You can find them naturally in clusters. You can also use console commands or mods to spawn them in.
This is definitely not the biggest underground base I've seen, there are many. But you're often limited by the formation of rock above. And you simply spawned the large rocks in, so you could easily make it any size you wanted. :) Some cool ideas in the build though. nice!
That’s a really cool build. It kind of reminds me of dwarven structures that are built within mountains like in Lotr or total war warhammer, pretty cool dude!
this is one of the coolest builds I've seen, I'm just now getting really into this game despite owning a copy for like 2 years and I regret not getting into it sooner. This is some good inspiration for stuff I'd like to do on my server!

Tiny critique/bit of advice about your videos. I love watching them, and you're an amazing builder, but... You spin your camera SO MUCH! It actually makes me dizzy, and I have to look away from the screen. Not only that, but it makes it difficult to fully admire the build. Less shaky shaky plz.
Hey, thanks for this. I just started playing the other week and after getting the pickaxe I noticed what it basically did was lower the elevation of the ground being hit, so I kinda gave up on building into the hills. But after finding this video I realized I just had to find a huge rock to work with. (I skipped to the latter part of the video because I don't have much interest in seeing all the stuff I don't have access to yet, though)
i tried to make a cave also, but the digging mechanic showed everything that is above what you dig will also be removed.. really curious how you could dig underground....
Good question. From the side. If you dig a small extra hole next to each spot you can see all of the rocks from the side to delete the ones below. For the first area I just used the entrance to the cave base for example, because that spot already had the cut out for the entrance.
Absolutely Love This! subbed! Awesome built in Cubbies and Portal! Love the Infinity Hammer mod by JereKuusela. Only Tweak i would have is to rotate 1 click the stone floor pieces when setting them, so the pattern doesn't repeat (maybe its just me) Great Work!
Wow this is Amazing man absolutely blew my mind. Definitely gonna try something like this an try the mod you spoke about. The base game should allow to build underground it should just be part of the game but anyways looks great 👍
Absolutely amazing looking. I was just so sad when I found out you needed mods. I've only very recently got into Valheim since it was released for Gamepass and I don't have access to mods. Anyways I loved this dude. Absolutely kill it with this one. You had briefly mentioned "item stands". Is that a mod as well or is it something unlocked later on in game?
I guess I meant to say item frames. You can make them pretty early. Horizontal and vertical. You dont need mods to make this base my dude. You can do it under any rocks found in the game. You can find clusters of these rocks in the Black Forest biome to have a big space to work with. Just make sure you backup your world in stages or you might end up cutting too much of the rock!
Hey hows this base holding up? I gave up on Valheim because the terraforming reset. I sunk hundreds of hours into a world where I built a fairly detailed village over time. The village involved terraforming but in moderation where needed (the game doesn't exactly just give you a huge city sized flat area to work with). I didn't just outright dig out a mountain or anything, but if I wanted to flatten out roads to make them more cohesive, or little areas for gardens and what not. Or all the foundation areas for most buildings in general. Eventually like 80% of the terrain in the area reset itself to its original shape. I was so annoyed to find out this was a thing, since the game GIVES you terraforming tools. So at that point I couldn't really fix things without outright tearing down the structures. Why give me the power to do this, if it can just undo itself? It's the same issue that made me quit No Man's Sky as well.
Maybe it was an old glitch? I personally have only seen this in a very small space, definitely not a whole area. I know terrain generation used to be costly for game performance and they fixed that, so maybe your stuff reset during that fix? Either way it shouldn't be a problem now. Especially after the new Mistlands update my game is running as smooth as butter.
I haven't done it yet myself but I have seen it. For this one I wanted to try to maximize the method with large rocks but I may have to try that at some point. A 2 level underground base does sound nice. Thanks!

wow... amazing. i just did a small version.. and its crap. lol i like urs..
lol much appreciated!
Are we able to download this map?
You tellin me there’s a creative mode in valheim?
Shame we can't just simply dig under ground in the game.. is it a engine limitation ?
Очень крутая база
okay bro i came for the cave base not your bridge
I do say this again. Would be more impressed if this was made not using "creative mode" . Good ideas but not really that impressed
You would think if hes going to use mods and make a video it would better. Meh
Ah, you cheated big rocks in... lame
You can find clusters of these rocks all throughout the black forest biome. I used mods to save time for making a RUclips video.
I did the same long ago with no mods, thats fun and a real deal. Mods definitively ruin this awesome game

amazing to see how awesome the base looks with such a simple building system
Moder is Mother in Swedish you say it kinda like "Moo Deer"
Valheim is the best chill, open world, sandbox game since Minecraft. Imo it's 100x better in every aspect.
Wish you could dig tunnels in Valheim, would make the already great game 5x greater.

Yeah for sure! I ended up making 3 stages of backups to prevent any problems.... but of course I thought of that after learning the hard way first LOL

The "d" in "Moder" is a soft d, so it creates a sound similar to "th" so saying "mother" isn't too far off.
