- Today I'm taking you along with me as I take delivery of my Brand New BMW M3 Competition Touring! I've been waiting for this day for a while & it did not disappoint. I show you all around the details of spec, exterior to interior, explaining why I chose (or didn't) every option. Congratulations welcome to the family! Beautiful spec 😍😍 I wish we got these in the US 😩
The ceramic brakes aren’t really for the track, this is a misconception. Serious track people spec the compound brakes because they are cheap to replace and if you go into a gravel pit with ceramics you might damage them in which case you are buying two more CCBs. CCBs are actually best for living in Germany and daily driving the car. They can reliably do close to 150-200k kilometers before being replaced. And they really show their advantages when doing unlimited hard driving on the autobahn. A brake from 280kmh down to 140kmh is something that is noticeably better with CCBs. If you daily drive CCBs in Germany you will be well pleased and 99% of buyers don’t replace them before selling the car due to high mileage. A lot of people talk about braking in the wet and cold as a daily driver with CCBs but they are honestly just bad drivers. If you prep the brakes before a traffic situation you will never encounter any like of initial bite and that’s how people who know what they are doing drive CCBs. I had them on my RS4 and love them. I didn’t spec them on the M3 Touring because they do make your car harder to resell and unlike the Audi, the Compound brakes on the M3 aren’t significantly smaller than the ceramics.
