When I started looking for a new truck I checked them all. I liked the Ram, but the Ford, no (I’ll never own a vehicle made out of old beer cans) and quickly chose Chevy (the higher cost for GMC isn’t worth it). I tested the High Country and a loaded LTZ, liked the LTZ much more and bought it. My wife and I both found the LTZ seats were far more comfortable than the HC, which surprised me. I agree the super cruise is a pain, so I use the basic mode. I don’t like the garbage they put in new vehicles that try to control it, like the super cruise and lane guidance. If I can’t control the truck I shouldn’t be driving it. For the compass, I set it in the center of the dash display, not the heads up. I haven’t found a issue with shifting, but I absolutely agree that Onstar is a absolute rip off. GM should be embarrassed that they charge anything for that garbage. As for Google maps, pair the truck to your phones Bluetooth and it works perfectly without messing around setting up a hotspot.

@@papajohn9470 appreciate the feedback and I’m sure others who will be looking will as well. Shoot, I didn’t think about the LTZ route. The selection back in December was slim in my area and really hit and miss now. I think this is the first time I’ve spent a bunch of money and not regretted it. I appreciate you watching and commenting, stay tuned for more!

You have good points about Chevy pickup trucks. It appears I have a totally different 2024 Chevy Silverado than you have with the 6.2L but they both function the same. I took delivery of the 2024 Chevy Silverado RST first edition EV. To start with the seat comfort is very good in the RST, having very thick seats and backs (in front, not so much in rear with mid-gate option) with lots of cushion for long drives (I do not get seat fatigue). Chevy seems to have fixed that issue. The super cruise does have that abrupt cut off on some occasions, but is more dramatic in the RST EV due to one pedal driving being defaulted after the super cruise shuts down. The brake check is less apparent to drivers behind you with the 6.2L. In any case that is an issue. Chevy does not use chrome trim in any RST (LT yes) trim accents, but the piano gloss black that is used has the same effect with glare, besides the Chevy EV cabs are raked forward more for the slipstream effect and the glare is apparent no matter your seat height setting. The heads up display does not have options to flip though as the 6.2L does. However, the DIC and the infotainment displays have extreme flexibility to what is put on the display due to the nature of an EV. The transmission is where the most differences are between the two Chevy trucks. Instant torque through the entire accelerator pedal range is what you get with the RST. That is the number one reason why I chose the RST over the 6.2L. The RST empty curb weight is 9000lb and I can pull zero to sixty in 4 seconds flat with no tire spin. The RST is devastatingly fast. The entire drive-train is whisper quiet. With the RST purchase I am totally saddled with subscription base applications that absolutely cannot be turned off or the truck does not function. I totally agree with you on this gripe. Enjoy your truck, I absolutely am enjoying my truck. The 2024 Chevy truck lineup is a total winner.
