The OsmoPocket has an audio noise reduction feature which tries to filter out wind and traffic noise. Notice that when it's exposed to wind etc in this video, the sound thins out dramatically and audio artifacts are introduced. When the camera is static and in a less windy environment, the sound is much better. DJI need to do more work on this, ideally providing a setting to customise the amount of processing happening, or turn it off altogether, and they should tweak the firmware to perhaps be less aggressive with the processing. It will be interesting to see whether non-DJI audio adapters will work with it, and whether they or the official one will support stereo mics needing 'plug-in power'.

GOPRO 7 has wider angle, but i think the DJI OSMO has slightly better picture quality, but hard to compare with only just a few shots. Plus it's preference, what you are looking for etc.
Maybe that's his mindset after getting back from working on a big Hollywood production. That kind of experience will probably humble even the most popular and creative RUclipsrs.
I found the osmo picture quality better but the sound of the gopro is way way better and more consistent. Osmo it looked like it mattered what side of the camera you were talking to.
Man. I love you Casey, and I always will - but I miss the timelapses, the STORY, the awe inspiring nature of your pre 2017 vlogs. And most of all, I MISS Connecticut vlogs.

Amateur. noun. 1: one who engages in a pursuit, study, science, or sport as a pastime rather than as a profession. 2: one lacking in experience and competence in an art or science.
I really wish they had done better with the sound on both... the no-moving-parts stabilization works amazing on the GoPro and it's so rugged, which makes it better for action footage und dirty or wet (even under water) environments. The Osmo has the better image in my opinion, more cinematic looking and almost no distortion (the GoPro in that aspect looks, aehm, like a GoPro ;), and the Osmo also has the motion timelapse and is cheaper... for vlogging the Osmo is the clear winner in my opinion, but one would need to add a separate audio recorder (or does it have a microphone input?). For my videos I now use almost exclusively a Samsung S9+, which has quite amazing image stabilization itself (I now use my separate smart phone gimbal less and less) and good audio (even better if you add a microphone with a furry windscreen aka deadcat)!
The Pocket does have a dongle type thing you can use to plus in an external mic, which according to this video would be almost necessary for vlogging. The thing I wanna see is the Pocket in the waterproof case vs the GoPro
DJI Osmo Pocket has too narrow Fov to be able to film yourself properly while holding it but if you don't take selfie shots while vlogging then it's great.
Something was really wanky between the audio of the DJI OSMO at the pier vs the skate park. (I think at the pier, Casey had his hand on the mic because it sounds so muffled. Also, this was his first go at using the DJI OSMO.)
Just because you have a lot of viewers doesn't mean the content was created professionally. Amateur implied there is no professional lighting, production, etc.

Ohhhhh, that's why it looked so familiar.
check out the video comparison at 8:20, GoPro is way brighter than osmo. It proves GoPro would have better low light quality.
huh? all it proves is nothing, lol. especially nothing to do with low light performance, lol. you can clearly see that the dji prioritized highlight exposure and the gopro prioritized the shadows.. thats it.
the snoring mini fridge was... umm... oddly cute
the noise of the fredge is because its cold inside ... very cold!
4:14 when a pocket camera is hard to get out of your pocket 😆
Americanhooligan hhhhhh😂
Lol
If Casey and Peter can Vlog on the GoPro Hero 7 I think the answer is the GoPro Hero 7!!
Maybe the osmo has better stabilization, but the gopro has much better picture and audio. (My opinion)
GOPRO 7 has wider angle, but i think the DJI OSMO has slightly better picture quality, but hard to compare with only just a few shots. Plus it's preference, what you are looking for etc.
You can also use the GoPro as a much better action camera
1 thing is a huge difference, you will notice in the last shot, iso.
@@ElvenMans no one likes you
U right yo
Maybe that's his mindset after getting back from working on a big Hollywood production. That kind of experience will probably humble even the most popular and creative RUclipsrs.
ooo been waiting for this
Cool
I came here to the channel to binge old videos, but this will also do the trick
Osmo wins the stabilization.
Go Pro wins the wide picture angle and the audio.
Watching from Taipei, Taiwan. 👈🤩😍👍
ooo really
What if you add in a external microphone, how do the audio compare?
Must be external Mic
I think the DJI looks better, but GoPro is better in more conditions
That's true
If you compare video on time laps you can clearly see that dji has a lot sharper and clear video.
this is only the first generation product, in future will be more accessories.
I have always hated how GoPro always warps the image
I found the osmo picture quality better but the sound of the gopro is way way better and more consistent. Osmo it looked like it mattered what side of the camera you were talking to.
Man. I love you Casey, and I always will - but I miss the timelapses, the STORY, the awe inspiring nature of your pre 2017 vlogs. And most of all, I MISS Connecticut vlogs.
Like, I used to go out my way to make my friends watch your vlogs. I'd watch it on my breaks. It just doesn't have that motivation USP anymore ukno. Idk, is this just me?
For any small youtubers out there keep grinding success is the only option🙏
How do you define success?

“Not GoPro tough” I want to put that on a T-shirt.
LMAO the kid at the skate park when it finally sunk in that it was Casey over there.
Was that boy calling that Asian kid "Tokyo" 😂😂😂😂 I'm dying😂😂😂
casey you are killing the competition.... Oh wait ,there ain't any competition ..
When Casey said "amateur creators like me.." I had legit laughter... Casey!!! U r a G.O.A.T.
3:27 The GoPro is *NOT* Optically Stabilized.
The GoPro is *Electronically* Stabilized.
I liked the video, though.
Exactly. How could he miss that
Only those who edit with Premiere understand the pain @ 0:52
I get this every time I’m editing my vlogs
a man of culture :)
Man Premiere sucks ass... I spend more time looking up workarounds and fixes than I do editing.
Why?! WHY DOES IT ALWAYS CRASH?! ESPECIALLY when I'm in the middle of something! Like right before an assignment is due.
But it is still better than Final Cut...
Lol Casey uses final cut
haha happened to me during a final :)
Amateur. noun.
1: one who engages in a pursuit, study, science, or sport as a pastime rather than as a profession.
2: one lacking in experience and competence in an art or science.
He meant he's not Hollywood.
@@bwebb90 yeah but he's fucking NY
My Opinion of these two:
DJI Osmo: Better color quality under good lighting condition.
GOPRO Hero 7: Better quality under bad lighting condition.
Ahaha!!! That kids reaction!!! Love it! :-)
Kids are our future. He curses like a boss. Way to go!
LETSSS GOOOO
how is nobody talking about that dope kid at the skatepark
ritwik bandyopadhyay which one?
I've bought 5 go pros. I never use them lol
Give me one's
Give me one ?
Exact same.
Davvvviiiddd! Gift me one 😉😉😉
Weird flex but ok
Love the job you do here Casey...
Just imagine seeing someone standing there yelling "IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!"
I really can't stay...
It happens all the time in Boston
My go pro 7 Does Way better with audio then his was doing.
Something was really wanky between the audio of the DJI OSMO at the pier vs the skate park.
(I think at the pier, Casey had his hand on the mic because it sounds so muffled.
Also, this was his first go at using the DJI OSMO.)
amazing as always
Casey says " amateur creators like me" and has 10 million subs
Haha, with more gear than most Indies probably too
Just because you have a lot of viewers doesn't mean the content was created professionally. Amateur implied there is no professional lighting, production, etc.
Uh, no. If you get paid for your creative work, particularly on a regular basis, you are pro.
Being famous and highly paid doesn't make you a professional creator
Notice he also was wearing a crown when he said that? lol. :-p
I wonder if Dan will actually have the intro ready for next week 🕶🎬
Great to hear you are supporting Pewdiepie aswell
We 9 Yr Olds Like Casey as well.
GoPro it's 2021 and you blew me away with the Hero 7 🙌🙌😱🤯👌👌
There both good cameras until next month when another better camera comes out................
what's that
Exactly! if you buy into the whole upgrade culture, you'll be forever out of pocket. The old adage a camera is only as good as it's user rings so true.
amen, they are one version from something big...
DJI stabilisation is incredible but sound quality is poor
True! Thats why one needs an external wireless mic.
The DJI mic sounds muffed! It is a shame because the quality is rather go!
Casey had his thumb on the mic
Richie well... Casey has a thumb on everything... :-)
Dji did an update on software and the mic sounds way better now
Hey, you NEED to give your mini fridge a break 😒😒
Day in and day out, he provides you with refreshing cool beer! And, once in a while he needs to take a nap!
It's not easy working 24/7! 🤬
Love you Casey :P
That British Vlogger lol so true
@@peaceful-cub791 its all fun and games
Cool, I’m buying a GoPro but not the 7
The ASMO looks cool too! I might buy it.
Can't wait for that teck review tuesday intro by Dan
0:53 at this point im thinking, the sick tech review tuesday intro was a joke
my heart still with gopro...
Thank you so much for this video! This gave me a clear depiction of each camera and which one would be better for my work.
