Loved the pause on 'SOULCYCLE' then the camera facing down to opening the door then the transition/cut to black into vlog is over with the beat sync. It's these things that just make your vlogs something more then just vlogs to me. Just love them!
A Canon t6s is only a little worse than a 70d, there is a small price difference between them. It's hard to tell the quality between them. Although the t6s is a newer camera, the 70d is slightly better.

as someone who lives in nyc and has become jaded and bored with my surroundings, i recognize many of the streets you've captured in your videos and really appreciate how you've captured them through your camera lens angles, storytelling, and editing, to make them beautiful, amusing, and lively again (at least for me). thanks :)
If you're scared to hurt your gear, it would also limit your ability to go beyond what you can do. Casey doesn't care much about the gear but on how to enhance his vlogs and his content. The more you care for the equipment, the lesser you can become creative. Just my opinion. I've experienced it before.

The way Casey treats his gear bothers me. It's one thing to not want to be overprotective, that's great and you're not going to get the best shots possible if you don't risk your gear on occasion. Breaking gear because you use it is totally understandable, justifiable, and fine. But there's a huge difference between not letting a fear of breaking your gear stop you from getting the shot and just always treating your gear like shit and breaking it in stupid, careless ways. Casey, with his dropping 1k dollar cameras on the table as he opens it, and as a person who has gone through five of the cameras, breaking them all simply through carelessness. It's a waste of money, and the fact that canon likely sends them to him for free probably just makes him more careless with them. I've had a 60D for 6 years or so (or however long it's been out, time blurs), taken it on 8 trips to 6 continents, climbed mountains, got rained on, slipped, tripped, all of the stuff that comes with adventuring, and aside from a tiny bit of sand in the focus ring of my favorite lens (that doesn't impact performance, just makes focusing less smooth) and some scratches and scuffs, it still works perfectly. I genuinely have no idea how it's possible to go through five cameras in less than a year unless you just don't care at all about your gear. That's the only genuine explanation given how many people do more intense and camera-threatening things with similarly rugged cameras without breaking five.
TasteDatRainbow couldn't agree more. If Casey really wants to be so careless with gear I'd recommend using GoPros. The time he was collabing with Devin, I was fearful he would manage to break the RED camera.

Christian Ortega t6s does not use the same dual pixel auto focus technology. t6s uses a hybrid phase detect system. it hunts a little more frequently than the 70d.
Marion Blair Yes, the 80D performs better as an all around camera. for video it can do 1080p at 60fps where the 70D can only do 1080p at 30fps. also focus on the 80D performs better as it has 45 focus points where the 70D only has 19. 80D has a headphone port allowing you to monitor audio where the 70D doesnt. 80D performs better in low light. the 80D keeps the same size censor as the 70D how ever it has 4 more megapickles than the 70D. so All around whether it is for video or photography the 80D performs better.

Having higher megapixel count would make it worse when shooting 1080p. It means each pixel is a smaller size on the sensor and is thus getting less light. The 70D is more accurate.
Personally, i enjoy other vlogs but often find myself skipping one day or another. BUT casey and ben's videos however are just on another level, i just cannot get sick of them.

Casey, i know why a lot of stuff you own always break. It's not because you always use them everyday, it's because you're super robust with them. You don't really care about your equipment, you beat them around and throw them. In some vlogs you usually throw your skateboard around or throw you camera on your table like it's a dirty cloth. I mean you make good content but taking care of your equipment is your weakest link.

Equating a hammer to a DSLR camera is dumb as they're not even close to be used similarly.

Exposing the audio jack doesn't cause the problem. Having a mic always plugged in that gets beat around as much as he does, is the problem. Watch how he typically lays it on a counter for the sideways view. Popping it often on that side mic jack will take a toll on the connection.

Not sure about best, but it is a good one for the money. I think Casey has done wonders for the sale of the 70D, Rode mic and Gorillapod setup, as evidenced by the many copied vlogging style, right down to the gear. Keep up the good work man, hope I can get a fraction of views on my channel you get.
That's for sure. The 70D is surely the most popular on youtube. I'm hoping my 80D purchase live up to the hype. I got ride of my Nikon D7000 because the live view focus for videos was pathetic.
I love my 60D but really wished it had continuous autofocus in video. Pretty much a requirement when trying to record yourself... and here I am hoping one day I'll be able to afford the 5D Mark III.

Dynamic range is garbage on 5D and 6D, and 4K is not really a "spec" worth bragging about when it comes to making high quality videos. My phone can record 4K, that doesn't mean it's a good camera.
I'd love to have the money to buy the things I want, whenever I want. But then, I wouldn't treat the things like a prick and throw them around. The words "more money than sense" springs to mind.

It's all good & stuff but dropping a camera on the table like this or the lens like you did on another vlog really has no difference than buying yourself a ferrari with premium custom paint and keying it from bumper to bumper before taking it to some mud riding & offroad. Also how can a protective cap on the left side of the camera can cause you to delay pushing a button on the right side? I really do like your work but find this kinda annoyingly edgy to be honest. I understand clumsy people, they drop stuff & break things and it's okay to be one, heck it's even cute, but on demand & acted clumsiness has no appeal, really. Let alone everything else, careful consumers preserve the economy in the very least. Like you don't throw your trash on the street, you care for your possessions, at least to avoid purposely occurred damage at least for environment if for nothing else. +Mozart I understand and sympathize with your stance, but I believe the root of his behavior is obvious. His clear lack of care for, what you call, "possessions" is largely due to his mindset. He views these objects as exactly that, objects... or tools rather. He uses his "tools" at his disposal, he uses them to have fun, to make content, and to emphasize his recurring idea that objects are only objects. From what I see, he believes people direct too much of their time towards worrying/caring for these... objects rather than using them to assist in tasks. Of course, the dropping of these tools and the clear lack of attentiveness might seem like an insult to the economy or the world, but his content/work presents the true positive of having this mentality.

Maybe the resolution of my laptop screen can't appreciate the 70D but the T6S looks pretty close to me?
the 70d has the better auto focus while live recording. better at capturing moving objects.
t6s auto focus system is the same as 70d
Christian Ortega t6s does not use the same dual pixel auto focus technology. t6s uses a hybrid phase detect system. it hunts a little more frequently than the 70d.

Marion Blair Yes, the 80D performs better as an all around camera. for video it can do 1080p at 60fps where the 70D can only do 1080p at 30fps. also focus on the 80D performs better as it has 45 focus points where the 70D only has 19. 80D has a headphone port allowing you to monitor audio where the 70D doesnt. 80D performs better in low light. the 80D keeps the same size censor as the 70D how ever it has 4 more megapickles than the 70D. so All around whether it is for video or photography the 80D performs better.
I use my stuff every day and I don't have a scratch on it.

Para as filmagens, quanto menos, melhor. Afinal de contas, o pixel fica maior e pode capturar mais luz.
Having higher megapixel count would make it worse when shooting 1080p. It means each pixel is a smaller size on the sensor and is thus getting less light. The 70D is more accurate.
Personally, i enjoy other vlogs but often find myself skipping one day or another. BUT casey and ben's videos however are just on another level, i just cannot get sick of them.

Casey, i know why a lot of stuff you own always break. It's not because you always use them everyday, it's because you're super robust with them. You don't really care about your equipment, you beat them around and throw them. In some vlogs you usually throw your skateboard around or throw you camera on your table like it's a dirty cloth. I mean you make good content but taking care of your equipment is your weakest link.

I'm getting the mileage out of my camera yet I haven't had to go through 5-6 full frame DSLR's. Even if I had the money I treat my shit with care because THAT is how you get longevity of your tools. Equating a hammer to a DSLR camera is dumb as they're not even close to be used similarly.

Exposing the audio jack doesn't cause the problem. Having a mic always plugged in that gets beat around as much as he does, is the problem. Watch how he typically lays it on a counter for the sideways view. Popping it often on that side mic jack will take a toll on the connection.

That's for sure. The 70D is surely the most popular on youtube. I'm hoping my 80D purchase live up to the hype. I got ride of my Nikon D7000 because the live view focus for videos was pathetic.
I love my 60D but really wished it had continuous autofocus in video. Pretty much a requirement when trying to record yourself... and here I am hoping one day I'll be able to afford the 5D Mark III.

Canon DSLRs have been really lacking in video features for the past 5 years. Certainly NOT the best camera money can buy
Dynamic range is garbage on 5D and 6D, and 4K is not really a "spec" worth bragging about when it comes to making high quality videos. My phone can record 4K, that doesn't mean it's a good camera.

Also how can a protective cap on the left side of the camera can cause you to delay pushing a button on the right side?
I really do like your work but find this kinda annoyingly edgy to be honest. I understand clumsy people, they drop stuff & break things and it's okay to be one, heck it's even cute, but on demand & acted clumsiness has no appeal, really. Let alone everything else, careful consumers preserve the economy in the very least. Like you don't throw your trash on the street, you care for your possessions, at least to avoid purposely occurred damage at least for environment if for nothing else.

+Mozart I understand and sympathize with your stance, but I believe the root of his behavior is obvious. His clear lack of care for, what you call, "possessions" is largely due to his mindset. He views these objects as exactly that, objects... or tools rather. He uses his "tools" at his disposal, he uses them to have fun, to make content, and to emphasize his recurring idea that objects are only objects. From what I see, he believes people direct too much of their time towards worrying/caring for these... objects rather than using them to assist in tasks. Of course, the dropping of these tools and the clear lack of attentiveness might seem like an insult to the economy or the world, but his content/work presents the true positive of having this mentality.
