I have listened to thousands of albums and bands, but Prefab Sprout is one i have to keep. I would give up a hundred bands that i listen to if i had to make a choice. Their extremely underrated and special.

I love when there's a step up in tone around the middle of the song (2:23) followed by the keyboard arrangement and the sung part resumes. Classic, great song.
Was living in Tokyo when this came out, at the height of Japan's economic power, and some may say the height of Paddy's songwriting craft as well. I can't hear this without thinking of riding the subways or strolling though the crowded streets.
This is probably one the most magical songs I've heard in a long time. I can hear some sounds on the synthesizer that the band Friendly Fires probably took an inspiration from, especially on their album Pala. I'm absolutely in love with Prefab Sprout! These guys keep knocking it out of the park, with hit after hit.

Adorable band... There is something subtle and special about this. Incredible music ! At about 10 years old I already loved it.. True, you can only say their hod dog music... :) We hummed it for years.... and we didn't even know who they were.... But so much are these melodies etched into one's ears... Adore! (Even with Hungarian ears)

I love Prefab Sprout, but being classy is vastly overrated and there was absolutely some less-than-classy pop music being made in the 90s
