My dad was tragically taken from me on the 30th of April 2020 in a car crash. He adored level 42, he has kept all his ticket stubs and book. He must of seen them over 50 times. The music is the only thing making me feel close to him.
My Mum loved Level 42 when I was a kid and because of her I was exposed to so much cool tracks from the 80s (I'm 43) into the 90's. She died five years ago and I'm looking back on these tracks and buying the best Of Albums as memories of our time together! This is going to be the next one! Recently purchased Tears For Fears and Depeche Mode. 😊

I saved up my pocket money, which was 50p a week in 1985, and went and bought this on 12''....me and my best mate Chris used to sing this and play our 'bass guitar' tennis rackets.....we were 13! Great times! I told Mark King this when I met him at a Football charity event at The Grosvenor hosted by David Beckham. Mark was brilliant and had all the time in the world to chat.....wasnt allowed to have a photo coz I was working....gutted! I LOVE LEVEL 42!!

This IS music, to dance, to enjoy, to listen, beautiful music. Generation X has lived the best part of music I think because we have danced to the influence of disco music, rock, pop and even reggae, we saw black and white tv and now we stare at a flat screen!! we have gone through it all!!! And having this beautiful videos that remind us a time of no cell phones, no internet but hand written letters and events were relationship were genuine because we met face to face, we spoke with each other.....God that need to come back somehow!!

The current year already has far better music. 80s are still good, but nowhere near as good what we have now. (Not talking about mainstream pop)

I'm 43 at the end of April and I just found out about Level 42🫶🏼 also Talk Talk, Simple Minds and so much amazing music from the era ❤️ we are blessed to be able to discover the classics 😍

Listening to this I remembered that when this was played on radio I was just a 7-8 years kid . Life was so simple and beautifull then . No worries , no time running away ... I miss those times!

Level 42 had some classic singles mid 80s "Leaving me now" "Lessons in love" and this gem "Something about you" classic 😎👍.
The 80s simply perfected pop music. So glad I lived in that decade.
Remember when this came out and didn't take that much notice at the time, but I am now catching up again with L42 and have watched this several times and realise what a clever video it is. Probably their best one. MK genius as ever.

I saved up my pocket money, which was 50p a week in 1985, and went and bought this on 12''....me and my best mate Chris used to sing this and play our 'bass guitar' tennis rackets.....we were 13! Great times! I told Mark King this when I met him at a Football charity event at The Grosvenor hosted by David Beckham. Mark was brilliant and had all the time in the world to chat.....wasnt allowed to have a photo coz I was working....gutted! I LOVE LEVEL 42!!
Transports me back to my teenage years and all the people i remember at the time . Memories of mates and girlfriends that you lost touch with . Long summer days and everything was carefree and easier . Take me back
RIP Boon Gould, one of the most iconic songs of the 80s was "something about you". I saw Level 42 live at Wembley Arena in 1987, when this song came on the place was jumping. Why don't they make music like this anymore?
Was it September or October 1985?…I’m not Googling to cheat😄. Incredibly evocative. I hadn’t heard of Level 42 until that point. When Running In The Family came out in 1987 I was all over the album.

This IS music, to dance, to enjoy, to listen, beautiful music. Generation X has lived the best part of music I think because we have danced to the influence of disco music, rock, pop and even reggae, we saw black and white tv and now we stare at a flat screen!! we have gone through it all!!! And having this beautiful videos that remind us a time of no cell phones, no internet but hand written letters and events were relationship were genuine because we met face to face, we spoke with each other.....God that need to come back somehow!!
