I do not think I could have withstood the pressure of it when I was young. There are wonderful artists and music today.... enjoy your youth while you have it... it goes by so quickly. me too!!! the 80s music scene is just timeless!! nothing but a non-stop party!
The '80s and the 60s in my opinion, the music with those two generations live on forever... Born in 63, grew up in the seventies wishing I was in the '60s. But along came the 80s and I loved it MTV it was great 👍
I heard this way back in 87'...i loved this band and their songs, also loved Europe Carrie, but George Michael was just going strong with faith album and father figure, 80's was like a bubble burst of great songs, we all had our choices and styles. Salute to all these amazing artists ❤
I'm 55 years old I was 20 years old in 1987 when this song came out.
@@jamosh1967 the same ! I feel like it was yesterday, we don't see the time passed and it s incredible to have 60 years old soon.... It was a very good time for us!
June 2024. Someone randomly uttered the phrase “shattered dreams” on an old 48-Hours episode, and I heard this song in my head. Had to come to the RUclips time machine and let it take me back to much better times.
Salud 🥂
Spot on, friend!
Great broder
This song popped in my head randomly and had to come revisit.
To All, We can turn it around!!!!!
UNFORTUNATELY WE CANT RETURN BACK TO 80's, BUT MUSIC WILL TEAR US APART IN MEMORIES.
In between the eighties and nineties, This song never gets old. This is when malls were kicking and there's no internet and on line shopping at the time. Just pure real music.
Big facts. Good times.
And the mall shopping was so fun. I worked in one in the 80's. So exciting and Malls had everything then. Was the place to be.
80s music was the best. I’m 60, based in South Africa!
No my friend down there the 60s was the best.. MTV of the 80s was great it made music better
I'm 63. Lived in SA in mid 80s!
Can't stop listening it once and once everlastingly....
When your 80's younger days were fantastic and got to experience this kind of music. Sadly it didn't last long enough.
It was the golden age of pop music but having known that we were experiencing something unique in the history of music we would have appreciated it even more, that's why now by listening to this great songs we feel even more nostalgic.
So good to hear this again. 🎉
I was born in 60’s. I love everything in 80’s. They are all best ever . Thanks from Hong Kong
This song hurts my heart!! Was 18 in 84. God those were good times!!
I was 17 years old in 1984, great times back in the 1980s.
*The atmosphere of this song makes it such a timeless masterpiece!!*
Truly. That instrumentation, especially the hook at the beginning.. wow. This is among the peak of the 80s
So Underrated. I find this relaxing as listening to "The Lace" album from Benjamin Orr (former The Cars singer). By comparison, this hit song by Johnny Hates Jazz is like "Stay the Night." How similar they sound makes for a good charting hit based on making a good playlist to wind down for the evening after a long day at work.
✨✨✨
They all look like Jerry Seinfeld.
Unica...magica...ti fa volare senza avere le ali.....che soettacolo
I’m 23 and I swear part of myself lived thru the 80s. Was a completely different time. I’m glad I can listen to pieces of it. Take care of each other and chase ur goals. No matter what age.
Same with me
same
I lived through the 80's and 90's and they were truly magical!
Same!
The 70s/80s seem magical in retrospect, but at the time I did not realize it. As wonderful as technology is today - I am glad I experienced a time when social media and instant access did not exist. I do not think I could have withstood the pressure of it when I was young. There are wonderful artists and music today.... enjoy your youth while you have it... it goes by so quickly. I like being older, too... it definitely has its advantages!
Still listening in 2021 unforgettable memories.
Remember the spring of 1988?
Still listening and loving this with the awesome old school music power of classic MTV.
Me too today May 2021
July 2021
I haven't heard this song in a long time and it was just stuck in my head this morning. I had to look it up. Brilliant song.
I'm glad they played this song on the radio as a classic. I had never heard it before, but it's awesome! I love that 80s charm, and the chorus hooked me immediately!
june 2024. i am 63. wow, this song still knocks me out. i've sung it in my mind a million times when some guy broke my heart...."you said you'd die for me..." beautiful.
Snap! 63! We were very fortunate!
Anything from the 80’s sounds better than anything now.

좋아 좋아!! 언제나 들어도 명곡이네 ..!!
A wonderful band of the 1980s so so underrated
I was 16, mom raised me on 70s records so I had never heard music from any other genre. My friend/neighbor asked if I wanted to hear some 80s music and I said sure, this was the very first song she put on the cassette player. I loved it!
He wants to be haunted. Are they going to hold the balls and uniforms against him?
I was 16 when this song was released.
The 80's were brilliant.
No Shattered Dreams
Just So Special!!
1988.fue el mejor año donde los más grandes artistas del pop compusieron arte musical en su pura expresión.gracias
That 's absolutely 100% true ..there's no music like the 80's .the videos and the music were amazing
80s bands...one of my references
Still listening & its still sounds so good . One of the great sounds of the 80s.
Directed by David Fincher.
I’m 31 years old and love this song. I grew up on this music from my parents! People my age dont usually listen to this music or even have heard of it but I love it! Classic!!!
I’m 33 and love this song! My parents also raised me on badass music!
One of my fav songs of all time-I'm a proud '80's kid!! Music will never be this universally great again. STILL listening in Nov. 2021 :)

Same, 80's music was unique - today they make music from all the same template..all sounds similar
Amen!
Absolute Masterpiece!
This song is always on the radio. I never get sick of hearing it. Complete classic.
It’s one of those songs that just fits everywhere 😎
Which station?
Heart80s
This song carried me through a broken engagement. I couldn't stop listening. When I hear it now, it tells me how far I've come.
One of the best songs ever released and seriously underrated. One of my favorite. Wish I could relive these days.
夢中で聞きまくりました〜今も、活動しておられるのかしら?福岡公演よろしくお願いします❤
I was 11 back in 1987 when this was a major song.Still sounds great after 36 years.
14 or 15 back in 1987, 80s and 90s best in britain.
I was 9yrs old and had teenage siblings and cousins when this song was out. I got to experience it all like I was a Teenager. What a time to be alive and young.
I was 10 years old, my mom blasted this every time it came on, I still love it after all these years #80sKid
I'm 58 right now so I was about 22 when this song came out. I loved this song soooo much it's not even funny! I used to listen to it all the time. I wished to GOD they would have music like that again ...😢...I grew up in the 70's and 80's and I just listened to the music from back then. Today's music is not the same, let me tell ya. The 90's was OK cause that's when I heard my kids music all the time...I liked the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC their music but it still didn't sound like this does...lol
@@LaDonnaNash-rj1gqActually some music now is ok, I’m 57 and try to listen to more modern stuff, my favourite band is the Blossoms and just got into CMat so yes I’m with you on the 80’s were great for music, my sons are 27 and 24 and I’ve introduced them to my music and they have inspired me to listen to some music, try Blossoms they have a 80’s vibe also I’m listening to future Islands never too old to try something different, also there was some crap around back then.
This song peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988

The 80’s wasn’t just an era. It was a time of pure magic never to be recreated. If you missed out on it…you can always listen to the music and let it take you where you want to go.

Hands down one of my favorite songs from the 80's. Johnny Hates Jazz deserves respect!!!
This amazing song still holds true to this day filled with empty highs and shattered dreams. Drizzle Drizzle.
