Every series goes through changes before discovering exactly what works and what doesn't, and in the case of Fire Emblem, it was the first game on the GBA 'The Binding Blade', where the series finally found out the type of game it wanted to be, and seeing as I recently did and entire Let's play of the Binding Blade, I felt now was the perfect time to acknowledge the characters who were with me all the way to the end!

Are you suggesting a knight class to fix magic? Reclassing won't quite fix that problem.
But you don't have to fix Sumia. She is imperfect and real and very much human and strong despite, and that is what makes her perfect. She cannot be fixed because she is already the best there is. She is stronger than she feels, beautiful, and amazing and charming and brilliant at everything. Sumia is best girl.

While I do agree that Roy is a bit over rated, but I wouldn't say he is Corrin level of character. He has an inferiority complex as shown with his supports with Lance and Cecilia and Lilina. Also while he always seems bland in the story he shows in his support with Shanna that this is a bit of a facade as he asks her how she always so happy. He also shows that he not only a kind soul, but almost every conflict in his support has Roy coming back saying something like, "Hey maybe I was a bit too focused on MY thoughts," showing not only that he is young but that he is trying to better himself. Lastly his support with Sophia shows all of this. Sophia feels like she let down Roy and can't be of any real help aka showing her insecurities. Roy realizes this and gives his support cause he also does not have the greatest confidence in himself. He lifts her up for a selfless reason and does so without much thought.
Again not the most complex but considering the fact that Corrin is basically just a Mary Sue, it is not the same.

Grimoire Rapier I dunno about overrated. The FE fanbase doesnt exactly think too highly of him from what i ve seen
Aaron Hernandez opinions are rather mixed, but he still got 2nd in the popularity poll.
Heroes poll isn't completely accurate though because keep in mind Ephraim defeated Chrom who was 3 spots ahead of him in the gauntlet and it was before the multiplier was a thing. Also you have to take into account you're able to vote for the same character everyday and that smash fans are a thing especially with Heroes being a mobile that's accessible to everyone. Most Roy fans don't even know anything about him due to the fact his game never came outside Japan and all they have to go by is his smash counterpart who really is nothing like Roy in Binding Blade at all and he doesn't even say "For those I must protect I cannot lose." He does not say this in his own game, but he does in Heroes so if they ever do remake the game like Shadows of Valentia under the Echoes name they'll probably add that quote of his, but throughout his game he just never really is charismatic. It's like Blazing Knight said Liilna feels like the real main lord of the game because for one she follows the trope of FE protags having their parent(s) die and she actually is more of a foil to the main antagonist Zephiel given their contrasting views on humanity with him seeing the bad and her seeing the good in them.

Kevin Cizek it is Gale because you can still keep him alive if he talks to both Zeiss and Milady, though he still won't join you, just like in Shadow Dragon Nyna talks to Camus and you have the choice to keep him alive or kill him for Gradivus.

Happy to see ma boy Gonzales here. Seriously, gameplay wise turns out to be a wrecking machine if you recruit him on the right path. I've seen him slaughter 4 promoted units in a single turn with an iron axe (Chapter 21, to be specific). They were spear users, and he had a support with Lilina but still...
Character wise he has one of the most heartwarming endings: After all the shit he went trough in his native island, he returned there after the war... and he was hailed as a hero.

Binding Blade was the first Fire Emblem game I ever played, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Roy was the entire reason I got into Fire Emblem in the first place because I loved his character in Super Smash Bros so much that I wanted to get the game he was originally from. He might be one of the weakest lords in the series, but he will always be my favorite character, and him and Lilina will always be my favorite couple in the series.

No one beats Lugh! He is my favorite Fire Emblem character. TBH I don't even care if everyone has a problem with Roy being a lame character with a bland personality, I think he's awesome. And has definitely the lord of the game, not Lilina, although she is badass even if she is frail.
I mean, he's obviously THE Lord in terms of gameplay and such, that's undeniable. It does however make me believe that Lilina getting a campaign of her own like Hector in 7 would have been dope because hell, she's seriously underrated and all her interactions made her Lord material.

I'd have a lot of the same in my Top 10, especially Lilina, Percival and Miledy. But I have 1 major favorite different: Echidna. I love her rough and tumble rebel leader attitude, I'm always a sucker for a "Bifauxen" design and she has a good one, plus it was so cool to finally see a Female Hero class. her unique sprite helps too.

This is the first Blazingknight Fire Emblem countdown that was about characters that a knight/general did NOT make the list or is even an honorable mention.
Because here's the thing, while I like Wendy and have made good in play through, she is without a doubt a bad unit, and her character while i think is better than Bors and Bath, isn't as strong as the others on this list.
Well, Blazingknight, I hope to see Mia in top 10 swordmasters when you get around to make the job class lists.

Sully, of course, has the best written support chain with Chrom out of all of Chrom's potential wives. While Sumia, the one who can pass galeforce down the easiest, has by far the worst.

6 remake must wait until 7 went first and I have good reasons why with a lot of ranting on that lazy avatar not in battle.
I would be too, if I had forgotten that they were making it back before we had gotten Heroes or Echoes. Though, that doesn't change the fact that people probably had forgotten that, and that the development team for Warriors are doing a similar thing to what had happened to Tokyo Mirage Sessions with what games will be having characters from in.
I feel like FE6 is a mix of FE1 and 3, leaning more towards FE1 than 3.

Well I would say the Echinda route because she is superior to Bartre and you recruit Gonzalez at a lower level but with the same bases so he has more time to gain stat boosts.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Thanks BK, I really appreciate your views man, I've watched your FE content for quite a long time an when Heros was still in the first year I liked your honest straightforward opinions about characters in Heros an their actual original games, but Heros has really went to shit after the whole Muspell Generals banner IMO, it just seemed like Nintendo an the other developers went into greed mode an put out more banners than was worth even putting my time into, I've seen alot of others bitching about it too even on here. Idk seemed like the whole rate system really went to straight shit even with pity breakers, I summoned everyday at the least once on the old Halloween banner an never got above a 4 star an that bastard just ended not too long ago, I did get the armored Kagura but that was on the new one towards the release but never had shit luck this bad. How bout you, does it seem to be going kinda shitty for you too or bout the same? I'm hoping 3.0 brings some POR units like Laguz, bird units like Reyson would be cool af, or the elder/rare dragon units like Dengisea or the white dragon dude. But shit Sanaki doesn't even have Sigrun or Tanith in Heros yet so I doubt they gonna be game changing updates but we can hope right?

In regards to Lilina, I agree with at least some of what you said. And I find her situation in FE6 to be even more emotional if Lilina really is Lyn's daughter, as FE7 implies. As her familial situation, in some respects, mirrors Lyn's. Even her marriage situation shares aspects with Lyn's, assuming Roy's her canon husband, considering what pairing FE6 is implying to be canon.

I pretty much agree on the unit balancing, the laguz lack of availability and Mist's sword be false advertising. I didn't feel parts 2 and 4 were too short though, Radiant Dawn is long enough as it is.

I'm on chapter 9 of my first playthrough of Binding Blade so far, and let me just say I am in LOVE with Dieck and Lugh. They're the current MVPs of my playthrough, and I honestly doubt that'll change. This may seem like a stretch to some, but Dieck is my favorite Mercenary in the whole Fire Emblem series, at least out of the game's I have played, he is so good and his level ups have been amazing, his strength, skill, and speed were all capped at level 15 and all his other stats are doing just fine as well, and he literally KILLS the weapon triangle by being able to defeat literally every unit he comes across and he's my current go to boss killer when everyone else is having trouble. Lugh is in a similar boat, being able to defeat bosses reliably well too, though Dieck does do a better job than him. His stats for a level 12 mage are rather good, having 20 HP, 10 magic, 12 skill, 16 speed, 10 luck, 4 defense, and 8 resistance. He is a bit frail due to his rather low HP and defense, but he's an incredible dodge champ surprisingly, right up there with Clarine actually, so his rather poor bulk is actually not too much of a problem there, and he makes mincemeat of anyone that dares approach him in combat
Some other units I rather enjoy using is Rutger, Lot, Bors, and surprisingly Noah, I haven't heard many good things about him, but he's turning out rather well to be honest, I think he'll make a great Paladin. Once Lilina gains some more levels I imagine I'll love her just as much as Lugh. I already love her character, now I just gotta get her to the point where she can be a true powerhouse
Corrin isn't ALL bad. She's fun to play as in Smash Bros.

She's also a fantastic unit in Fates. She's just poorly written in the story. But then again, what character ISN'T poorly written in Fates' story?

Jelly Unicorn Well, I already like using Cecilia over Clarine, I was just considering the idea since blazing Knight had a good experience with her. I still prefer Cecilia's magic bases + weapon ranks vs Clarine slightly better magic growth (only 5% better I think)
+Intellectual Fan on average Cécilia will have higher Magic than Clarine due to her bases. All Clarine is good for is Never getting hit, but I honestly prefer Having someone who can actually heal shit.
yeah, 20/1 clarine doesn't reach cecilia's base magic, and you'd have to play REAL slow for clarine to reach anywhere near level 20 when cecilia joins.
Clarine is my first promoted unit that reached level 20. She doubled everyone, but her mag didn't let her kill everything in two Thunders. However, Elfire was strong enough to kill everyone ( enemies usually have 33 hp at that point, Thunder usually does 16 and Elfire does 18; may not be the most accurate numbers but it was usually like that for me). Sure, her main field is healing and omg dodging literally everything. I don't think she was hit more than twice in my whole playthrough. So she's definitely worth trying!

Well, thanks for making this list, BLAZINGKNIGHT. It nice to know that each Fire Emblem game has at least one character of a certain class is one of your favorites in them. For me, the classes that have done that with me so far are Swordmasters and Sages. I have made 2 lists of who are the representatives of those classes of each game.
Here's my list for Sages: Shadow Dragon- Linde, Blazing Sword- Pent, Sacred Stones-Lute, Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn- Ilyana and Soren, Awakening- Miriel, Fates- Leo, and Echoes- Delthea.
Here's my list for Swordmasters (except for Echoes, since the sword using units in that game end up as Dread Fighters): Shadow Dragon- Navarre, Blazing Sword- Guy (current playthrough), Sacred Stones- Joshua, Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn- Mia(if it wasn't obvious enough already.), Awakening- Lon'qu, and Fates- Ryoma and Hana.

This game has so many good characters you need to play it a lot of times to really get it. Talking in terms of battle performance and story... All the GBA games were really good in this aspect.

The Dankknight different translations, that's about it. Binding Blade is the most accurate one of the three

Though it is true that Binding Blade in general is similar to Shadow Dragon/Mystery of the Emblem, that would explain why Roy is a clone of Marth in Smash (though I'm disappointed that you left that out). But, that just a theory; a game theory!

I loved Shanna as a character. While not strongest I thought she was good and I paired her with Roy.
Diek was one of my best units. I also really enjoyed the relationship he had with his comrades
Sue I definitely think is the daughter of Lyn based on the ending of Rath and Lyn in Blazing Sword as well as how Sue described her parents
Rutger was great. In fact Myrmidons and Swordmasters are my favorite class in the series

Saw a couple of your vids this morning BK, an decided to go back to my old BInding Blade save file, it was at chapter 8, only the asshole Ostian traitor general left an surrounded by all my units, about a year ago I last played an was draining this assholes weapons to build up Lilina an a couple other low tier units. It was because you mentioned Crit-ger in a video I decided to find my old emulator an roms an switched them to my new laptops, thanks for being such a FE guy! Definetly need more videos anytime you feel upto it buddy!! Any of the FE6 cast that stood out as good units besides the HM bonus units? Everybody knows the HM bonus units are the shit, but I havent ever beat this game so its still my first playthrough, any useful tips would be appreciated BK.

There are many good units without HM bonuses such as Clarine, Ellen and Saul for staff utility, the dancers are good, Marcus is great, Deick is good, Zealot is good for a while, Lance and Allen are solid, Echidna is good, Niime is great, sue is useful etc.

And rpgs an strategy games are all over the place there, we dont have shit here compared to them, I'd say the stuff thats new to us is already old to them man, I guess gaming an strategy games are kinda in my genes, I like the warcraft an starcraft games but FE games even though old are true gems imo, the rpg element is what draws me in an slowly building up a badass character. Like now compared to when I played them as a kid I use the save state save an load method to make the RNG work for me on units I really want to progress as much as possible. @@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Oh but one question I could use some current advice on is in FE6 I am literally building my Knights up an Bors is already lvl 20, the Gatrie looking blue one lvl 13 an Webdy is lvl 2 an not exactly even doin 1 dmg yet so its literally 1 exp a turn at the minute until I move on or her spear mastery gets upto A an can use tge silver lance to hopefully do a least 1 dmg to this asshole Armored General dude in Ch.8 that I drained all his weapons so its free for all. Is she gonna be best in skill spd a strength by lvl 20? I saw before you mentioned she has better growth rates so easier to max with a rng watcher like myself I'd imagine right? Arent they the only knights in the game? An this merc oujay probably aint worth buildin up considering Dieck an Echidna?
@@asianp1067 By level 20 on average Bors and Wendy will have the same speed, however Wendy will have higher skill and yes she does have the overall best growths of the three. Also they are the only knights in the game, however if you clear chapter 16 without killing Douglas, he joins your team as a level 8 general and is the best armour unit in the game (the dude has 19 strength and 20 defense from the get go). Also Oujay isn't bad and perfectly fine to train up, but Deke and Echidna are better so probably not.

BLAZINGKNIGHT Although I do agree that Fiora is better than Florina, just because you prefer one Pegasus Knight doesn't mean you should put down another. Florina is still a great competitor because of her join time. Fliers are broken in Fire Emblem because of what they can do for you. For that reason, I'd recommend for anyone to use all the fliers that a Fire Emblem game gives you, as it will make your life a whole lot easier.
Umm... I wasn't putting Florina down I said I like her (I just preffered Fiora), I never said anything along the lines, forget about Florina since Fiora is better, and I do use filers a lot in fire emblem, I listed Falcon knights as my second favourite class in the series.

I just found out something that Binding Blade & Fates have in common with you, Blazing. Both of them have a number one character who is a female Wyvern Rider. (Watch his Top 10 Conquest Character list and you'll know what I mean.)

I personally L.O.V.E mounted units my personal favorite of course being the very basic mounted knight the Cavalier due to the fact that it has so many options for different uses need a long range unit but don't want to give up movement? Bow knights are just what you need, want to make your paladin into a beast but don't want a tank or the other way around then if you don't want a tank go for gold with the Golden Knight and if you want a tank great Knight is ready and willing to give hell to your foes!, want a flyer? Pegasus Knights are at your fingertips! And you simply want to make your cavalier stronger? Get good with Paladin. Of course I also love the sword master class it's my third favorite next to Knights in second place but overall I love this series and I'm glad I decided to play it. I've never played binding blade before in fact like most I got interested in fire emblem from both my big bro Hunter and playing smash bros with him I love sword users in game like smash bros because you can beat the living shit out of people up close and personal then say if near a lege "THIS! IS! SPARTA!"

I literally could not get through the game without Deke, especially early on. I loved watching him flip the bird to the weapon triangle.
Thanks for the mental image of Nacien forcing Clarine to play video games with him and put up with his whining every time he lost. Because he would. As for Clarine as a unit, I once had her using the S ranked tome and it was beautiful.
I love Roy as a character, but Lilina is clearly the superior unit. For starters, you don't have to wait till the end of the damn game to promote her and she can can kill fire dragons without using a legendary weapon. She's also one of my best 4-star units in Heroes to the point where I'm torn on whether she or Sharena gets an upgrade next time I get 20,000 hero feathers. If they ever do a remake, they should give Roy and Lilina equal billing as heroes.
Cecilia makes up for being a shitty unit by being an amazing character.
Lilina's definitely not as bad as everyone says, but there's no question that Lugh is just better.

Celica has horse, rescue, staff, Aircalibur And Needs no Promotion item. That is more than a lot of other Units can claim.
I personally think this Bad Stats better bench forever Mentality pretty one Dimensional in a Strategy Game.
Celica is a good Choice as a back up healer

She's close to Sophia and Wendy in terms of usefulness.
Lilina is literally Caeda but worse in every single way.
Sequitur yes, lilina is like sheeda but take away wing spear, great speed, flight, 10 move, and good bulk (as dracoknight). so basically anything not sheeda.
They fufill the exact same role in the story though.
My point was that Caeda was better unit and character wise than Lilina since they have the same role.

TFW when, gameplay-wise, she's more like Odin in that she's supposed to be related to someone who's in a class that's known for their speed but isn't particularly fast herself.
Probably took after Hector way more than any of her potential mothers, and she's almost like a Magic version of him growth wise:
-Hits like a truck (mostly after training with a 75% Magic growth)
-Slow (they even share the same Speed growth at 35%)
-Has a really low Skill growth (20%) nearly emulating the lower hit rates of Axes
What's missing is being a Res tank instead of a Physical one and the high Luck (50% growth and second highest one) for some reason which I guess is from her mother. If only she had their levels of speed (Even Farina's 45% would had been okay)
