Kristin Bruggeman I have the same problem too. I think I might need to start watching nail shaping videos to help. I like a really straight even square shape and it never comes out like the shop lady 😭.
First of all, this color is amazing. Second, thank you for making an updated video using tips and dip powder!! It’s greatly appreciated because I have been growing my nails for a while now and I wasn’t sure what to do if one of them breaks but the others are perfectly fine, so thank you for this video!!!
okay but this is super helpful because I love how easily I can build up my nails but I have always ended up effing up my liquids that go with my dip powders after one mani. Your technique of only applying the activation liquid after ALL layers of the building powder/liquid is opposite of what most kits say but seems like it would really cut down on the contamination of the liquids. definitely trying this technique after my mani needs redone!
I love love your videos it’s so detailed and your voice is so soothing. I’m new to doing dip on myself and have tried and done my nails 3 times with tips, I wanted to cut it on the edges how you did but I had a feeling I would mess it up and was scared. My nails turned out better than the last 2 times and even the recent time I did it on my natural nails so I am making improvements. Could you do a video on filing as that is what I really struggle with and it bugs me a little as I like a neat square look and can’t seem to get the hang of it. You blended in the nail tips so well it looked like your real nails.
I so enjoy your video/tutorials and in fact, your videos are what inspired me to go for dip powder after wearing press-ons for over two years. I will be applying my first set tomorrow with your Azure starter kit video as my nearby (and often paused) guide.
I do have the Double Dip liquids as well, so tempted to use them. Which would you suggest for a first time dipper? Azure liquids or Double Dip? Thanks.
I really appreciate this video and your step by step instruction. This was so helpful and every step had a purpose and made sense! Thank you! I love your nails BTW 🤗
You are darling! Thanks for the tips :) I have been doing my own nails since I was a kid. I have been doing my own gel nails for the past 8 years. Now I am learning how to do the powder. I have never used tips since my nails grow long but occasionally when a nail breaks, I could use a tip so that I don't have to cut all my nails down. Wow-the lightbulb went on! Do you have a video on how to remove the tips. Sorry-very new to this...
I just tried out the Makartt tips that you used and I absolutely love them. I did gel instead of tips tho. But thank you!!! my nails came out super thin and natural.
Great video as always. I don't apply my gel perfectly like you do. If I get a little on my cuticle, should I use a brush dipped in alcohol or acetone to remove the excess gel?
Really appreciate the wonderful step by step. A question though, why would you do both a dip and a gel? Does it make them stronger or did you just like the gel colors? Just wondering the reasoning behind using both. Thanks again!!
First time here and love ❤️ your work. Subscribed 😊 I have a question: I applied gel polish on clear powder but it peeled. Do you know what I might’ve done wrong, thanks 😊
@@marietrini7784 i specifically mentioned in that video it was because the surface of the nail is too smooth. the gel needs something to grip onto so using a file to add some slight scratches works best.
1. When you say you “dust off the nail” between layers of dip powder, do you mean you used a dry brush? 2. Would this clear powder be good to use under regular polish to keep my nails from peeling? Like I wouldn’t have to remove it between regular nail polish manis
hi! yes, i use a dry fluffy brush to remove excess powder between layers. and you can totally use clear dip over your natural nails and under regular polish to help the polish last longer 🤍
hi! thank you!! i personally find dip easier to do than polygel or acrylics. i would totally give it a go as it is pretty similar to just painting your nails, only there are a few extra steps! 🤍
Hi!! Love this video, as I just came across your channel and subscribed! I’ve never even thought about trying to do my own nails!! About how long does this method of nails usually last on you? About the same as going to a salon?
hi! yes, you can paint regular polish on top of the extensions. it will last likely longer than if it were on natural nails, but not as long as gel. you'll still notice chipping and wear but you could probably get a good week out of the polish!
Do you cure them using a gel light? Or do you mean air dry for 30 seconds? Sorry just new to the dip and want to get into it but I don’t know if I need to buy a gel light to cure the nails.
hi! i only cured the gel layers. since i used dip liquids i did not need to cure for the dip. however if you did use gel liquids and powder, you’d need to cure all layers.
@@courtneyn3328 i recommend using buffers when you want the surface of the nail to be super smooth. if you were applying a dip top coat over your extension, you would want to buff the dip smooth. since i used gel polish, i needed a rougher dip surface so i used a file 🤍
Hi! I'm a nail tech. I would say because you are using a gel polish, you do NOT *need* to apply the last coat of activator - you can actually apply the polish immediately after filing/buffing because gel adheres better to a rough surface anyways. I would also recommend still using a gel base coat since you are using a gel color polish and gel polish will adhere better to the nail with its intended base coat. Applying it over dip would almost be just like applying it over regular nails... you should use the system correctly to achieve the best results. Sorry, I hope you do not assume I am being rude - just wanted to share tips/advice :)
for the first layer of base where the tip meets the nail, i avoid painting on the tip to avoid thickness. however on the rest of the layers i did indeed apply it to the false nail. the tip needs some dip in that area to add strength 🤍
hi! i don't think that is possible. if you were going to try that method, you'd have to use dip powder along with monomer and work like you're using acrylic.
Can't even tell you have tips on!! I learn so much watching you,, specially being a beginner!!
I struggle with shaping and dipping my extensions and can’t wait to try your tips! Thanks!

The shape is sooo frigging pretty 😍
Nice and natural looking...perfect for me to try. Never thought of the dip and tip together 💡
Wow great end result! Good tip to connect the nail to the end of the tip, first. I’ll have to remember that the next time I do my nails!

This was so excellent. Your results rival any professional nail salon. Thank you.
This looks amazing! I found that when I didn't use a base coat that my polish peeled off the dip powder but I'll try using the activator twice!
I find that it helps to use the activator after you’ve filed the nails down so it sets all the way through and then use a sticky base coat
I love how chill and autumnal the background music is

i just wanted to add a gel manicure on top! it does add some slight strength, but you can leave the dip by itself and have a very durable manicure.
i love your nails and this method!, could you please make a video where you do a "refill" once your nails have grown and need a touch up ? thank you

Thank you! I was looking for a way to do tips without using a UV/LED lamp:) How long do your tips usually last? How do you remove them? TYSM!
I find between 2-3 weeks! You can simply soak off using pure acetone!
You do such a great job! I can't get the bottom by cuticles even and nice with polish - I go over or uneven...ughh
How to take the tips off? Or make a fill?

Very beautiful gels indeed. But how long does it take for the manicure to stay on? Can it go up to 3-4 weeks? Or maybe more that?

Kate...I noticed that you didn’t use the peel off base coat. So when you remove the polish, won’t that also take off the tips? Or was that your plan?
hi! i plan on just filing off the color to keep the tips intact underneath! 🤍
Do you cure them using a gel light? Or do you mean air dry for 30 seconds? Sorry just new to the dip and want to get into it but I don’t know if I need to buy a gel light to cure the nails.
