Calm down bodyboi, that’s not the point of this video. They’re just comparing the animations of both creatures. No need to be sensitive about this and be defensive all of a sudden fanboi. Let’s focus on the fact of the matter and it’s not which boss beats who but instead the side to side comparison of their animations. Focus brother, focus. Do you have adhd? If not then there’s no reason to be sidetracked out of the subject.

Can I just say as someone who has never played a horizon game, Slaughter spine is the hardest name for a huge mechanical dinosaur. Thats the coolest thing I've seen this week by far

I always find the names for machines in horizon is basic. They're more nicknames than actual names

Point is: creatures are named after what they look like or what they do.

"Big Horn Sheep" Is a variation of an animal named "Sheep". And " Sheep" Is a unique word. Same as "Raven", " Salmon", "Cobra", "Python", "Llama",etc. These words have no direct English meaning but are unique to a specific type of creature so they function as the names for them.
I guess in Horizon, Big Horn Sheep would be just called "Big Horn". Nothing wrong with it as people actually call animals based on how they look but it's just missing the "Sheep" part, which makes it sound basic asf, you know?
1:22 yo holy shit that would unironically be a really good addition to the glavenus moveset. instead of the double spin he spins once and then breathes fire. It would make sense too because glavenus usually gets to spit magma after scraping the slag from his tail. great animation work

🤓Technically Glavenus only has a heating sack in his throat, that's why he only spits out molten slag. So he really cannot breath fire.

I’d say Glavenus is more agile and acrobatic than the Slaughterspine, but in contrast, the latter has better range attacks than the former. So if these two fought, the winner would be determined by who landed the first blow.
Glavenous can close the distance pretty quickly by lunging at it's target, I've farmed them alot so the fight would be over before it began cause bro acrobats through the air like a ninja with the elegance of bayonetta

A very different angle than I'm used to seeing these animations
Sometimes I forget how big glavenus is
When playing Horizon, the slaughter spine looks about the size of Godzilla.
When playing monster hunter, glavenus looks like it could fit in you backyard.
So it’s jarring (for me) to see them the same size

This waa epic! Glavenus absolutely dominated the competition, I feel the machine would've had too much extensive damage after getting hit by the superheated armored tail meant to slice directly through hard material. However, had his foe used it's lazer and kept it's distance it would've had a better chance!
This looks awesome, i had an option is not that Dino related but maybe the corrupted deathbringer vs the chaotic gore magala, a battle of titans corrupted and altered that want to kill the other at all cost one for mission other for pain

Clawstriders as medium monsters. Thunderjaw and Slaughterspine as brute wyverns. Sawtooth, ravagers and behemoths as fanged beasts. Glinthawks as wingdrakes etc
That's a mod I really wish someone would make into the game. But I know it's not easy. So I made it happen with my animation.
A lvl 64++ slaughterspine is no joke! Too bad they didn't show remote lasers and build up but still fun to watch

Didn’t play the horizon games but I always felt like the robot’s animations felt too natural and didn’t really look like machines trying to mimic animals and beasts and more like just some animals with metal covering them

Here's one thing about glavenus he has a zenith version also named hellblade glanvenus and second one subspecies which is more agile and use acid on it tail and the tail is more like a katana and more agile and more rapid

Acidic Glavenus has a more refined moveset, and Hellblade Glavenus takes EVERYTHING to the next level even beyond that.

Haha, I'm not sure, but the way the animation sets are designed is very similar.
Most Wyverns would lose hard to combat class machines. Only real heavy hitters like Rajang, Deviljho and Elder Dragons are winning.
i don’t think any robot would win against any monster from monster hunter. it takes zero effort to kill the machines. heck aloy talks way too much and that alone would make any monster run away lol

The machine one is lacking feature in design.
- The moment you see glavenus, you instantly know his tail is his main weapon & his identity, his entire moveset is around that tail, you instantly regconize the monster by the look, the biggest body part is the tail blade.
- the machine one, i cant tell what its feature & emphasize is, its a robot t-rex, its can shoot laser, cool, buy the design dont emphasize on anythings, i cant tell what its feature is & the moveset is very generic. Its not bad, but its not recognizable.
I think glavenus take the win, its just cooler
it is not. the slaughterspine units were built inspiringly from the 'spinosaurus' creatures' form.
the so-called rex's' = the thunderjaw units' instead.

and it is also still prototype(?) stages too it seems (by the time of H2:FW's era. eh, kind of close to schedule. the NEMESIS fleet isn't that far away out there now) by how the Rampant HEPHAESTUS protocol mind presented that kind of Human hunter-killer type unit during in the time of just Before Aloy finally had a dialogue with the Sirius era/post-old one era survivor Tilda, right after that attempted GEMINI event/mission's (it took him that 2+ Decades long, huh. I guess such like the more few Years longer present stalker, to clawstrider(?), to dreadwing, to shellsnapper, to thunderjaw unit models were that just successful in their....purposes, and all that when it comes to discouraging the global machine hunters). who knows how the slaughterspine units would be come in the (main) 3rd game of the horizon franchise's.

Glavenus is faster and more agile.
It is complicated, an organic being does not compare to a synthetic one, one can get tired and feel pain while the other does not, the organic one uses fire and the other plasma, the machine comes a moment that fills the entire field with plasma, while the the glavenus would have lost all its armor
Yes, but what I intend to compare is creating animations of these two games is more Because they use similar techniques in designing the animation set within the game.
@@JurassicRimbesides the obvious robotic quirks their animations were surprisingly similar (not copy-paste but quality.) the might just be a skill ceiling that's reached on how good you can animate a fictional creature. but maybe i can be proven wrong in the future
Admittedly true - the Slaughterspine has a MUCH larger arsenal than the Glavenus, 99% of which wasn't even showcased here due to the animation comparison seemingly trying to be fairly 1:1 - The thing is practically COVERED in various flavors of plasma cannons, and is alarmingly fast and agile for its massive size to boot.
It should be glavenus win a war right, only 1000 degre tail blade heat can kill slaughterspine body machine like butter?
