Assuming Aloy is on the same height as your usual hunter, the thunderjaw here is unusually small.
Hunters are estimated to be around 6'5/6'8 by the concept art, they're *huge.*
Also, Thunderjaws are around 24 to 30 meters in length, Deviljho can reach up to 44, so no, if anything that Jho is small.

@@PEPELeFrog-ny5wk If the thunderjaw doesn’t even fight back at all, then yeah. I don’t even care if the thunderjaw loses, I just wish it did more than attack once and then stand there doing nothing while it gets beat up.
I think the thunder jaw would’ve put up a bit more of a fight. It’s got rapid fire machine guns and beam lasers, as well as the explosive disk launcher, so unless the other creature is resistant to lasers and explosive weaponry I think it’d be able to deal some decent damage.
Monsters in MH are resilient to bullets and explosives and Ballistae Bolts the size of a man. And breath attacks that can melt through rock or freeze weaker prey in Absolute Zero.
Deviljho is an Apex predator, an alpha. His resilience is exceptional even among his kind.
@@jack-exzolt9858 that’s fair, but thunderjaws were created for the sole purpose of killing, and were created by a rogue super intelligent AI with virtually infinite resources, and technology it had hundreds of thousands of years to develop.
As far as I know, most of the weaponry in monster hunter is fairly primitive, so I don’t think we’d have any way to know how a Deviljho would fare against actual rapid fire laser machine guns, fans of high intensity laser beams, and explosive drones that have been engineered to perfection over thousands of years.
Also keep in mind the thunderjaw is probably several hundred tons.

And this is where I confirm that you're not familiar with MH's worldbuilding and lore.
Because I assure you its not. Their weapons and mechanics are derived from ancient advanced civilization that existed waaay before humans and wyverians.
Not to mention, the Hunters themselves are regarded as Superhuman, able to carry and utilized over-sized weapons with relative ease. They'd be the equivalent of Space Marines in their world.
Also you say primitive when their bowguns and bow are capable of rapid fire, shrapnel, explosive rounds, and such with each round the size of a Bolter round from 40k.

Also lasers? Again, you deliberately ignored what I said that these monsters don't fight hunters exclusively. They also get into turf wars with themselves.
With monsters having *Breath Attacks* hot enough to melt solid rock and freeze any matter into absolute Zero???
These monsters, just by existing, can shift and change ecosystems. That's why they needed hunters to keep the balance of nature in-check.
Especially Deviljho, who can crash an entire food chain because it eats any moving being from its sight.
You could argue that most machines were engineering to its peak, and yet they are taken down by a single neo-primitive woman with a makeshift bow and tools?
At least in Monster Hunter you see and read about multiple hunters (and other cooperating creatures) to take down 1 monster and even failing, being wiped out and even killed. All before they send the main character in.
@@jack-exzolt9858 Aloy uses quite a lot of technology from the machines she kills, getting tools like energy shields that block damage until they need to recharge, cloaking devices that turn her invisible, the ability to hack and convert other machines to fight for her, etc. Aloy also uses resources such as blaze, acid, frost, and electricity to burn, melt, freeze, and stun machines.
So she’s far from just a neo-primitive woman.
And you do basically no damage unless you’re hitting specific key weak points (which are often covered with armor).
But yeah I admit, I knew basically nothing about the monster hunter franchise. And after what you’ve said, I agree, the thunderjaw probably didn’t stand much of a chance. I do still wish it put up a more of a fight in the animation though.
One question though, does the Deviljho have any weaknesses? I’m wondering if there’s any other machines from the Horizon games that’d make for a more fair fight.
@@xyrkzes Monsters in Monster Hunter have elemental weaknesses and hit zones that take more damage than others that can be taken advantage of but its a matter of whether the machines are good enough to take advantage of it. This video was probably the calmest jho I've ever seen because in the game they are hyper-aggressive especially when they enrage, which also changes their hit zones. They have naturally corrosive saliva and idk if the machines really have a counter to the breath with is dragon element and not a normal element like thunder or fire. If game mechanics apply like being hit by dragon attacks inflicts dragon blight which makes all elemental attacks useless so idk like its just really hard to gauge what could handle a jho, especially a savage jho. Honestly for a better idea of what an actual jho is like just search deviljho turf wars and you can see what it's capable of against other monsters.

Savage Deviljho is a bit unfair, imo. Having it go against a daemonic or apex Thunderjaw would've been more comparable. Maybe even Redmaw could go toe to toe with a savage, at least for a while. Either way, the only way a Thunderjaw could win is if it engaged its laser weaponry or attacked using its mandibles and hit a critical area. Keeping its distance and employing its disc launchers, rapidfire cannons and laser weaponry would also be best. Granted I'm not sure how comparable the Thunderjaw's weaponry and things like explosive barrels are, though I'd assume the disc launchers and laser weapons are much more powerful.

Except thunderjaw was designed for human vs human warfare, not a match for a creature that kills everything that moves that can smash through giant trees with ease and reduce boulders to rubble with sheer brute force. Redmaw would kinda put up a fight but it literally only has one disc launcher operational and is already too damaged for combat let alone against even the calmest deviljho💀

idk if horizon goes into detail on exactly what the bots are made of, but imagine the sheer weight behind a thunderjaws physical attacks. that things gotta weigh literal tones more than an organic creature of similar size
Not impossible, but it's hard to create a nimble machinery if it weight too much, even more so for bipedal.
If they really are heavy, their power source would have been no joke, plus all the servos and joint tech that could keep their structural integrity.
I doubt such would be the case or TJ would have dig intself into the ground every step it takes

The thing is that its not an easy comparison for the simple reason that your average hunter fights this thing with bone weapons, parry its atacks with oversized stuff and they keep fighting, hunters can easily be considered meta humans with ridiculous levels of strength durability and so on, just as a simple example, your average hunter can fish out a plesioth with regular fishing rod, and for context a plesioth its a medium sized wale monster, so just make the math....with that said a jho can overpower this said metahumans...make the comparison to the chick from the game and i would say even high level mecha things of horizon are going to have a terrible time fighting anything from the MH universe

And in game, there's a lot Monster who doing laser beam attack and nuke, so in truth, they really tough, need other Monster material (crafted from Monster) to kill them
In collab outside MH game, they reveal that Monster Armor is imbued by magical physics, Kirin armor can protect a literally person who get sunburn when exposed to Sun even they showing Skin (Kirin armor is like bikini, but yet it protect whole body)
So in end, Deviljho EZ win here

The new Boston Dynamics robot is looking great
Honestly it's a pretty even match that could easily go either way. They're both equally built to harness raw power and combat prowess while sacrificing speed. Both have a decent armory of ranged and melee attacks, tail attacks, and fire power. In reality it be a lot of lucky shots that would determine who won.

I think the thunderjaw would've sprayed WAY more. I only played Zero Dawn and not Forbidden West but there were Thunderjaws in Zero Dawn and they were fucking assholes, along with their rockets they also had disk launcher turrets opn their backs that would fire small blue disks that hover in the air for like half a second before just instantly zooming right into the target. I'm not saying the Thunderjaw would've won, I didn't play any monster hunter ever, I'm just saying the Thunderjaw was not really accurate.

I know this is gonna be unpopular, but I'm posting it anyway because I decided to look it up. Isn't the thunderjaw 4x larger in pretty much all directions than deviljho? (deviljho being average 19 feet with the thunderjaw being 24 meters = 79 ft~)
The thunderjaw is 24m long and 9m high while joe is 6m high and 20,5m long so he is only a bit smaller

Lol, no way would that be the outcome. Close quarters combat Jho wins, yes since it's abilities are close range. Problem is the Thunderjaw has several midrange abilities that would wreak havoc, the laser sweep and the especially fatal disc launcher since Djo is weak against bombs/explosions. Thunderjaw isn't weak against fire, plus it has several close range abilities too. 7 or 8 times out of 10, Thunderjaw would win this.
I will say, despite the outcome, I loved the animation and concept. Great job. Glad this channel was put into my feed, new sub for sure.
Realistically Lore-wise, yes, and etc other reasons. especially for a GAIA unit like a thunderjaw unit's and this one class of GAIA robot's derangement era capabilities that kept being upgraded every time the Rampant HEPHAESTUS subfunction gets poked and all by Human predation of the ZD terraforme-

Hey, i've been recently wanting to make animations/scenes with HZD/HFW machine models and while searching, found your channel. I was wondering if you'd like to record a tutorial of sorts on how to either extract or import the models into Blender (assuming that's the software being used in this video) and setting up the machine itself. at least those over there, opposite from the horizon universe and galaxy/franchise faction, are still even more (in most areas of theirs, conventional-based speaking) backwater-only, one world-bounded capable. aside from even their most (far pre-Old One era (horizon universe's and galaxy's/reality's definition)/Year 2000s+ speaking) ancient forms of firearms (in their own right and current era's there) so far shown from that old franchise of monster hunter's throughout the Years.
