Great video l use Kawasaki oil it's great 20w50 every 50 hrs if you go 100 hrs l would recommend Amsoil 15w50 oil l would not recommend 100 oil change in Florida it's too hot
Splash lubed Breaks & Scrapem engines that use SAE30 oil, the best oil currently available is Walmart Super Tech HD30 Diesel oil that comes in a gallon jug and sells for around $16. Oil stays clean and engine runs smooth. In 50 years of oil changes I've never seen ANY brand oil filter leak, and Super Tech oil filters are high quality and several fit lawn mowers.
I've used Amsoil for years! My POV . Has over 255 thousands miles on it It doesn't use any oil at all . lol and yes It get changed every 3.000 miles to 3,500 plus filter .
Great video. I use 4cycle small engine oil exclusively in all my outdoor power equipment. Automotive engine oil is not formulated for air cooled 4 cycle OPE engines. Yes, many use automotive oil, but if you want the best oil for your OPE, use what is developed specifically for air cooled engines which run hotter than liquid cooled automotive engines. I have a 2007 Cub Cadet GT 2550 with a 22 HP Kohler Command engine with 500 hours and it burns no oil between changes, which is at the end of each mowing season. I also just sold a 2006 Exmark Z series with a 20 HP Kohler Command Pro engine with 1700 hours and like the Cub Cadet, burns no oil between seasonal oil changes. In just a few days my local Toro/Exmark dealer is delivering my 2024 Exmark Radius S series with a 52-inch deck. You can bet I will be using the recommended Kawasaki 10w40 synthetic blend oil and Kawasaki filter, when it comes time to replace the brake in oil. Oil and filters are relatively cheap, engines are not. Also, regular maintenance concerning the air filter and pre filter is just as important as the engine oil and filter. My brother bought a new Exmark Radius S series last year with the Toro/Exmark commercial grade corporate engine. One thing that impressed me about the Exmark engine, it holds 2 1/2 quarts when replacing oil and filter. I like the idea of a higher volume of oil in the engine. Take it from an expert that sells and works on OPE like in this video to use the proper oil and filter as well as regular maintenance to make your investment last longer and run better. Thanks for a very informative video.
I’ve used the orange Fram and 10W-30 Mobil 1 for 20 years on a John Deer LT180 with a Kawasaki 17 hp V twin. 1600 hrs. Still starts easy and burns no oil. Gave the JD to my sister. Now I got a 23hp Toro engine on my Toro zero turn. I’m sure that’s gonna last. It’s very well built. I use Fram oil filters only.
I run Amsoil small engine 15w-50 in my Scag Vridell, with Kawasaki oil filter. I switched from Kawasaki 20-50, and there is a difference. I run Amsoil in every motor I own and I’m a believer.
I’ve got a toro titan max with a 26hp kohler. Dealer recommends and uses the blue Kawasaki 20w-50 exclusively. Called another dealer nearby and they do the same. Thought it was interesting. Located in central/south Florida
I had the 25hp Kawi and she dropped valves. And I ran full syn 10w-30. Ck my oil all the time. My new kohler 25hp is showing wear running Mobil 1 full syn 10w-30. Definitely trying something heavier.
I've been running 15w-40 Rotella diesel oil for 15 years and changing oil at 100 hrs. on 34 hp. Kawasaki engines without any issues, what do you think, am I doing it wrong and need to change to a different oil and number of hours, thanks.
I switched to Kawa 20W-50 in my Kohler engine. I could tell it was running too hot when mowing on those Tennessee, 90+ degree days, and it was for sure going through too much oil--probably topping off every other 1-1/2 hour mowing cycles. It smells less hot and I top off maybe twice per 50 hrs. Expensive oil, however.
I use royal purple race oil. Hps or xps oil. Hps 10w-40 is pretty good for Ohio. It's like $10/qt and has high phosphorus and zinc. Xps 10w-40 or 10w-50 are also really good race oils, but pricier. I'm afraid to run 20w-50 because we aren't really ever above 90 in the summer and fall/spring can be 50s. Amzoil small engine 10w-40 is pretty good too, but I had oil consumption/evaporation issues with that spec of oil.
Can someone help me or am I'm worrying about nothing? I have the 7000 series kt725 22 hp 725 cc on my Toro Timecutter. Anyway I bought the tuneup kit and it came with the kohler oil filter..but as I was about to take off the old filter i noticed it said Kohler pro performance on it and it's a little longer then the new one that came in the tune kit for the 7000? Can I still put that none pro performance that's shorter then the original...?!? It's weird cause the part numbers match and the new oil filter seems a tad bit shorter and doesn't say pro performance on it like the old one does....
Amsoil diesel & wix filters. How can you beat that? Grades of oil depending on your location of course Diesel for more zinc than their small engine oil.
@@user-tb7rn1il3qNo it's not. Automotive engines are water cooled with a fixed temp. Small engine oils are designed for higher temps. So they are NOT better.
@Grayson.84 Let me rephrase that. Why shouldn't I use diesel engine oil for lubrication in my gasoline powered air cooled single cylinder lawn mower engine.?
@Grayson.84 Thanks for correcting me. I'm still trying to figure out how and where I can use that 5 gallon bucket of 20W50 diesel engine oil in my machine shop. I thought you might provide me with some technical data as opposed to correcting my miss use of the English language. 🤡
I agree. I’ve used 10W-30 Mobil 1, and orange Fram. Runs perfectly and burns no oil. Gave to my sister with 1700 hours. Starts easy even in late fall here in Minnesota.
I have 3 Kawasaki engines they don't burn a drop 😁. How about 2 cycle next? The only oil l don't use is Stihl oil l will let you know later take care my friends
10W-30 and SAE30 are very similar, SAE30 also called straight weight is ideal for hot climates where the machine won’t be operating below 40 degrees. 10W-30 has a winter weight (10W) blended with SAE30 to make it more versatile in a climate with hot and cold temperatures. We are in Florida that’s why we recommend the SAE30.
@@mainstreetmowerThere will be less startup wear with 10W30. There is zero reason to use straight 30 in anything in any climate. Always use 10W30 synthetic.

Kawasaki recommends you look at the API temperature chart for what oil you use in the area you live 😁😁 sorry for the babble
I use Walmart Supertech Full Synthetic Advanced 10W30 in my lawn mower. It’s far superior and less expensive to any of the oils in the video.
How is it superior?
Easy, Mobil 1 in the correct weight for all engines.
Wrong! Mobil 1 is NOT a true pao oil such as Amsoil. Only trust a 100% synthetic if you are going that route. Homework!!!
