I agree. I think the Zillow posting did mention the option of buying the cottage and including the furnishings. Otherwise, if someone buys it and brings in their items... well that would just negate (to me) Christine's wonderful creation in creating this home. It's perfect as is. If one had the money and wanted a vacation place, then buy it as is, furnishing included and enjoy the heck out of it. It's so magical.
Or imagine if airbnbs just started doing these videos instead of photos? A feast for the senses and really sells the experience
How something so colorful and bright can feel so poetically melancholic? I love it.
This is probably the nicest, most pleasant, and successful way of selling a home; submerging the buyers in the environment so aesthetically. Omgoodness I'm melting from how this was done! I will have to remember this for when I wish to sell.

Know they were originally planning on keeping it as a vacation home and doing vacation giveaways on Patreon and possibly some Air-BnB, but the realities kind of multiple properties is a hassle unless you are pretty wealthy.

As a little girl, I would have been quiet and reverent in this house. As an adult, I am filled with awe and wonderment that someone has this much imagination and talent to put this beautiful house together. Your understanding of space and time is eartheral.

It won't be on the market long. We are experiencing a major housing crisis. In my area, houses are on the market for a metter of hours before they are gone.
Our neighbor down the street put a 'FOR SALE BY OWNER" sign out in his yard, and he had three cash offers within 24 hours of twice as much as he thought he would get for it.

It fascinates me that the kitchen was so bright and cheery compared to the rest of the house
I think it's great contrast and I have two sets of light in my home as well...orange and moody and bright and clear, depending on the atmosphere needed.
Well the pleasure of using a kitchen goes downhill very fast pre 1950s after which modern conveniences came along, lol. So this kitchen with its pastels and machinery is likely inspired by that. Just old enough to be vintage and glamorous and cohesive with the room, new enough to not to be a hassle with large items that look out of place if the room were victorian inspired. In kitchens pre 1950s, think of ice boxes rather than refrigerators, wood/coal stoves and furnaces, much much less cabinetry and doing everything by hand.
The hatchet next to the stair case is the perfect compliment to the dining room
Who knew I'd love listening to those sounds...from cat purrs to champagne corks popping..owls, wind and water...just amazing.
I bet this is a real estate agent's dream, "Oh don't worry about film a house tour.. I already did, with my film crew" ;)
Believe me, I trust Christine. We bounced a lot of ideas around! AndI am learning from her! So thankful to be part of this journey...

I love this house so much! Yellow has been my favorite color since I was a little girl and my mom painted my room yellow and white and she made me a beautiful yellow and white bedspread with ruffles, and white curtains with a ruffle at the bottom that had a yellow ribbon that ran through it.
When I grew up and married my bride's maids and made of Honor wore a soft creamy yellow and white. Everything I see your California home I remember waking up in my room to the sound of mocking bird singing his heart out and the sun streaming in. I carry those moments forward with me when I need them as you surely will with your beautiful home.

There’s a time for holding onto dearly and a time for letting go. The house is off again on its next great adventure I’m sure the best person will love it as much as Christine has.

@@jnm2088 closer to a million? This would be well over a million in Los Angeles. That’s part of why the price is shocking. And the age for a house like this is a feature, that’s part of the appeal for an old mountain home decorated and restored like this.
The cottage is under 1000 square feet....unbelievable how she made it seem so spacey!

This reminds me of my grandma’s house where I spent a lot of my childhood at. It was the most absolute comforting place in the world. ❤️ She sold the house about 20 years ago now, once she got too old to take care of it but sometimes I close my eyes and do this exact same thing that this video did! I imagine myself walking through her house and all the sounds and scents! I do it about once a year so I never forget ❤️ When I die, I hope heaven is going back to her house. 🥰
