Preach! 👏👏👏 I remember my university neighbor Jim Reeves (yes, that was his name). I was going to a Rod Stewart show and told him it was a great place to meet real women. He said, "He's got nothing on George Strait!" He and I went. He asked if I would be comfortable. I said sure. I asked him the same. Because I am Black Jim was unsure. I told him music brings people together. I'd been to tons of Rock shows, this was my first ever Country one (unless you include Jimmy Buffet). I saw my first GS show in 1987, and was FLOORED! The show was awesome, he sounded great if not better than his records, and I met a woman as did Jim. She was a wonderful woman. I was 19, and this was 28. We dated for a few months. I'm also a huge music collector and one of my favorite CD Box Sets is the "Strait Out Of The Box" one. I bought it at the record store where I worked. One the best ever. He had so many other hits and great songs afterwards, that another one could have been done.
George has so many hits it would take months to comb through them. My favorite might be " babys gotten good at goodbyes " my wife and I song is baby your baby by King George
George Strait is who got me into country, the first song of his that grabbed me was "Amarillo by morning". I've been a fan of his ever since I was 22 in1982.
Actually.. he has over 60... But that also depends on which stats you choose to take into consideration... Either way, he is the (Disputed) king of country...
Amber, bless your tender heart! Some of my best childhood days were spent trout fishing with my Dad. I hope you and Jay make many great memories with your children.✌️❤️
If you're fans of George Strait, you might want to look into the movie Pure Country which he stared in and supplied most of the OST (my own bias here as I Cross My Heart is my favorite George Strait song).
This reaction right here is why I love you two! Honest and sincere. Jay was spot on when he said that country music can get you in your feelings. It was nice to see you both experience what I felt when I first heard this song.
Amber you’re such a good soul and down to earth. Both of you. Don’t worry, your kids are destined to have just as happy memories of the two of you, you won’t even have to try.
That's what great about older country, telling a real-life story. I am 60 years old, and as many times that I have heard this song, I was still tearing up with you because I lost my dad 10 years ago. Listen to Charley Pride Burgers and fries and remenist about they way it use to be. God bless ya'll and your family!
This song always reminds me of my grandpa. He passed 45 years ago last month (telling my age here) & not a day goes by that he's not on my mind. I remember that some of my best days were when we would just hike through the woods around their house, looking at the trees, rocks, streams & wildlife. (Jay, we found plenty to keep us busy out in the country.) Yep Amber, country born & raised, happily too. I can't imagine living any other way & learning all the things grandpa taught me. Like I said, this song gets me every time & I was sobbing right along with ya. Have a blessed week & I'm pretty sure your kids are gonna grow up very appreciative of all the love y'all show them & share with all of us. Oh, y'all really do need to watch Pure Country with George starring in it, it's really good.
At 76, I've lived through a LOT country singers, including my dad. But agree that George Strait has the purest voice in country. My favorite, and I know you will like it, is "Famous Last Words of a Fool".
Amber, God bless you! The dream you have to make sure your kids have those childhood memories is not little...it is HUGE! You and Jay are creating a wonderful life for your children and a beautiful family.
What we call a tear jerker. :) Love your honest emotion. If you don't want to cry, don't ever do a song called Honey by Bobby Goldsboro. It will have you howling
Condolences for your dad. Ive only seen my dad once in the last couple years. We haven't always seen eye to eye but I don't know what I'd do without him.... definitely my hero besides my Grandpa
George Strait has 60 number one hits! He is the best, and he is so devoted to his wife he refused to have kissing scene in the movie Pure Country. YOU MUST REACT TO THIS MOVIE!
What a way to put someone in their feelings. I lost my mother-in-law a month ago. This made me think about the Saturdays a I would spend with her talking and watching TV. These were special to me, because I spent Saturdays with my mother, whom I lost 19 years ago, watching Lifetime Movies and talking anything and everything. Those were some of the best times of my life.
Wow! Amber teared up quick in this one. Everytime I hear a George Straight song, I think of my aunt Glenda. She was the biggest fan of his I ever knew. I lost her last year and I miss her everyday. Amber, you're beautiful. Love you guys!
This song gets me all the time. It reminds me of my dad and all the stuff we used to do. He’s passed away over 10 years ago, but still hurt from it. This song is right there with me, all the stuff we used to do. I am the luckiest man alive!
This song was written by Dean Dillon and Carson Chamberlain, and recorded on August 31, 1999. It was released on January 3, 2000 as the first single from his compilation album Latest Greatest Straitest Hits. The song entered the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart at number 48 on the chart dated January 1, 2000, and spent 29 weeks on the chart. The song also climbed to number 1 after spending 17 weeks on the chart, where it held number 1 for three weeks on the chart dated April 22, 2000. In addition, this song became Strait's 36th Billboard Number One as a solo artist.
I remember when George Strait hit the country scene at the beginning of his career and watching every song continue to outdo his last one. My heart stills breaks for George losing his daughter in a car wreck when she was a teenager. I think thats why so much emotion is always heard and felt in his countless list of songs for decades. George Strait is a true country singer that so many country singers today could watch...listen...and learn from him about what a true country song REALLY is. ❤
I agree 110% with you! I experienced similar memories with my parents. To now hear my 32 year old son and 28 year old daughter share of their childhood memories we created with them is priceless! Thank you we love you guys!
Jay and Amber George Strait is one who gives you the emotions it's happy but sad i was tearing up too. I don't listen to too much country but he is good.
Dang, Jay and Amber, this song and your reaction brings a tear to my eye. I worked in Country music radio for many years, yet I had never heard this George Strait song. A sincere thank you for bringing your honest, insightful, heartfelt reactions and delivering a daily dose of positivity to the world. You really do have a great channel here, and I wish and pray for the best for you and your family.
This one always GETS ME, TOO, AMBER!! I think you and I BOTH miss our Daddies, just as much.....SENDING HUGS! But: I KNOW you remember the BEST PARTS of ALL OF IT, just like I DO! The best man: EVER...and, I was LUCKY enough to be his DAUGHTER! ♥♥♥♥
THANK YOU for reminding us all about how special the "little" things are.... and to show us the emotions they evoke. We need this in this crazy and scary world right now.
If you like this song, find “I Cross My Heart”. It’s from a movie that he starred in called “Pure Country”. Stunning!! (The movie is good too. It got a 7.1 on IMDB!!)
Mission Accomplished!!! Y’all have made us smile (again!) today, as well as tear up (🥹) a little too while reminiscing. Whatever Y’all are facing today, just know you’re in our prayers.. 🙏
I can't believe I cried. And Amber you didn't help. I loved my dad so much and always thought that he was the greatest. I hope this is a lesson to others to make it happen. Just do it.
Never heard this one before; don't listen to C&W, but it's Great! Amber's Heart is coming through again... and J too later On! Shows What's Important to You Both! :) We can all appreciate why, and what this song can bring out! Great Reaction, and God Bless You Guys & Family! :)
Many of the songs during the ‘80s-early ‘90s will hit you like this. Especially Kathy Mattea’s “Where Have You Been?” and Diamond Reo’s “One More Day”.
You need to watch his movie PURE COUNTRY. A beautiful love story with a strong moral base. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Amarillo By Morning did it to me too!
One of George's songs called Cross My Heart was what got me into country music
Love without end Amen, came out shortly after my dad passed, really helped me through it, been a Strait fan ever since
Fun facts:
George Strait has the most number 1 songs on The U.S. Hot Country charts with a mind boggling 44!!!!!
Actually.. he has over 60... But that also depends on which stats you choose to take into consideration... Either way, he is the (Disputed) king of country...
Amber, bless your tender heart! Some of my best childhood days were spent trout fishing with my Dad. I hope you and Jay make many great memories with your children.✌️❤️
This song still makes this 65 year old cry. Such memories.
If you're fans of George Strait, you might want to look into the movie Pure Country which he stared in and supplied most of the OST (my own bias here as I Cross My Heart is my favorite George Strait song).
What REALLY brings out the feels if you’re sentimental, Sawyer Brown - The Walk…. I’ve already told my kids that I want it played at my funeral.
"Amarillo by Morning" is my favorite. He has so many great songs, great selection.
Damn it Amber. You made me tear up.....
Can’t go wrong with George. His song I saw God today is another great one.
Yes this one is beautiful!
Love George! Please listen to Brad Paisley’s “He Didn’t Have To Be”. Such a beautifully written, emotional and loving song.
Yes! My niece used this at her wedding last year for the father daughter dance with her stepdad. I had never heard it before, but it was perfect!
I’m not crying, you’re crying… we’re all crying 😢❤😊
I appreciate your time and engagement with me on here. Thanks for the immense support. I've got something rewarding to share with you above.

I'm crying with you Amber. Virtual hug!
Cross my heart! Best song ever!!
This song from George Strait and Alan Jackson’s song “Drive” always brings back memories for me.
This song always reminds me of my grandpa. He passed 45 years ago last month (telling my age here) & not a day goes by that he's not on my mind. You have to get around to Chris LeDoux (Le-Do). He has a great killer song you can start with named This Cowboys Hat. You are going to love Chris.
So many great songs, so under the radar.
One of my all time favorites! He's not recognized near as much as he deserves. And talk about songs telling stories!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hope they will react to “This Cowboy’s Hat”. Possibly one of the coolest story songs ever.
You've just got to watch his movie "Pure Country"!!
Amber when you said "Taking a walk with my mom" it made me think of a song that you might love. It's called "The Walk" by Sawyer Brown". 🥰
Oh I love this song!
“The Breath you Take” is a must
I love you guys and i think your kids are lucky to have you as parents.

You should see their reaction to Martina McBride's Concrete Angels.
Amber, I started tearing up when you did.
“So beautiful yet hard to listen to” is one of the best ways to put it.
That’s why he is the king of country
I can't believe I cried. And Amber you didn't help. I loved my dad so much and always thought that he was the greatest. This is such a beautiful song. My time with my father was cut short, but I'm trying to make memories with my son. ❤
