      Hey nice one. Keep an eye on the magazines and recoil spring. It's the nature of all 1911's. Sometimes you need to swap them out for reliability.

    Once you start shooting metal targets or plastic bottles with liquids in them, it's hard to go back to shooting just paper targets. You want the feed back of hearing the round hitting the metal target or blasting of the water bottle into pieces. Then you get creative on other targets to can shoot. Thanks for sharing.

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  7 лет назад +1

      I hear you, reactive targets are way better. But you can also learn from paper targets. Point of aim, point of impact etc. Thanks for sharing ;)

      Oh for sure. Safety may be second nature to an experienced shooter. But the first thing a new shooter wants to do is touch the trigger and wave the gun around. Better to take the time and train them so you don't get a ND or worse.

      @BAdventures  7 лет назад

      Hey that's cool I've heard of PJ's. I have a friend in USAF doing ordnance and he has to cross train as you said. What calibre do you use for your competition shoots?

    • @marshallsislandadventures798
      @marshallsislandadventures798 7 лет назад +1

      We shoot mostly a Creedmoor 6.5 which is not an every day gun. Depending on the shooter they can be accurate up to 1200 yards and still hold a very tight pattern. I do know a guy I see in the mirror every morning who has nailed 2 headshots at 1540 yards but he is kinda modest about it. Lol. We do some old school shoots with the 308 and a 50 cal. Tournaments are more strict when we are just shooting for fun we bring everything.

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  7 лет назад

      I've heard about 6.5 Creedmore, so glad you confirmed it. But I understand it's a speciality calibre and you make the most of it. Thanks for sharing ;)

    Recently learned Armscor Makati Manila Pistol shooting is P600 for Filipinos, but P1500 for foreigners. Other branches also have extreme price difference. This is really dishonest and taking advantage of foreigners. Especially when Armscor exports products other countries including USA. This could give Armscor or Rock Island Armory (RIA) a bad reputation with US customers and other countries abroad.
    Another RUclipsr Tony Phan covered it in his video below.

      I understand and yes better to be honest. Sometimes people don't understand long term approach. If they charge everyone same price then they will build good reputation and attract more business. When a business overcharges it makes them look bad and people won't go back.

      B Adventures Travel Vlogs :yes,that's why a lot of good reputable business is affected due to this kind of Filipino habit..it's already a sickness there and most importantly if the poor foreigner doesn't know the price ranges, it's already too late for him to realize that he was kick right in his nuts..

      @BAdventures  7 лет назад +4

      +JoshRangeGamez {2016} I understand. I also liked that pistol growing up, it is an iconic classic. James Bond would die easily in real life. Hollywood movies are great entertainment. But we have to remember it is not real. Maybe look at the modern Walther PPQ and PPS. Also the Canik TP9 (licensed copy of Walther P99). The PNP and NBI are using Glock pistols now. Keep an open mind and try a variety. That way you can learn more. Best wishes and stay safe =)

    I bought the Armscor .40 cal 1911 pistol and I was not happy with the gun's performance. Jammed after around 30 bullets. I should have bought the PT 24/7 which was my 2nd choice and what my friend bought for himself and he does not have any issues. 😔 just want to support Philippine made but that's what happened to me.

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  6 лет назад +1

      I tried the .40 cal at Makati branch. It was reliable. But I didn't like the snappy recoil. It's an over-pressured round by nature, which puts extra wear and stress on the parts. For what it's worth 1911's are sensitive to magazines, and the recoil spring wears out over time. I'd recommend trying a stronger Wilson Combat recoil spring (18-20lbs). Some early batches of RIA/Armscor 1911's had bad mags. Try quality mags: Metalform, Mec-Gar, or Wilson Combat. Not sure what country you're in. Call RIA/Armscor, maybe they can fix or replace it. Lastly, keep her clean and lubed.

    Try bending your elbows out just a bit. It'll help absorb recoil to make you shoot faster. Plus you can squeeze the gun between your palms better with bent elbows. Also avoid sticking your butt out too much when you lean forward. It'll mess with your center of gravity making your stance unstable. To put it simply, elbows bent OUT not DOWN, squeeze the gun with your palms instead of fingers and hips always above heels. I Hope this helps.

    shoot. So, your left hand might not jump out
    towards down.

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  4 года назад

      Thanks for sharing and I understand. I prefer Isosceles stance as it's more balanced or symmetrical to a Weaver stance. But if I was in a tight space I would adjust. One technique is not necessarily better than the other. This is a form of martial arts. You can use different techniques and mix it up.
      I talked with a Krav Maga instructor regarding some pistol training they did. They constantly bent their elbows to pull the shooting hand back, and did press checks. Getting ready to punch out. The are training to protect the gun and check it's condition. Spare hand ready to push back or restrain an attacker. Totally different approach. Why? Because they are training for security and LEO. Different purpose or philosophy of use.

    Always learning ! I've never heard of the 22TCM Caliber before .... Going to look into this Round because it reminds me of the .357 Sig , Great Posting and very Professional Gun Range !!

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  7 лет назад

      Glad you liked it. Yes similar to .357 Sig. A smaller .22 cal bullet in a necked down .223 case. Ends up similar dimensions to a 9mm cartridge. The 22TCM calibre was designed as an alternative to FN 5.7×28mm. In that regard it is easier to find and more affordable. Also lighter weight than 9mm. Practical feedback: the higher pressure and velocity was not efficient for a pistol. The propellant (gun powder) would be wasted as fireballs out the muzzle. Even in a 1911 pistol it unlocked too soon. Unburnt powder was blowing back into the action. I thought it was sand in the video. The higher pressure and velocity had the barrel very hot after a 16 round mag. My shot groups started vertical stringing, something usually seen in hot rifles. So it was fun and all, but not very practical round. Just my 2 cents and thanks for watching =)

    • @BAdventures

      Even in daylight it was crazy. Basically wasted powder. Fun cartridge but it falls short. Armscor RIA still doesn't support it very well. It would be better out of a longer barrel, like a rifle or PCC. Thanks for watching 👍

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  7 лет назад +1

      Good question. Usually most ranges don't allow moving targets for safety reasons. If you spoke to them nicely on a quiet day they could probably set something up. Moving targets are more of an advanced drill. Thanks for watching =)

      I guess that's why the rent was only P1,200 per gun, 2 targets, and 50 reloads.
      P1,500 was the rental for foreigners, For the same package as above at the time.

    Dude!! I tell everyone, I had a gun you could "rack" like that and it would leave a bullet in the cylinder! the extractor didn't always catch the rim of the bullet. I had a gun smith replace it and work on it. He said when gun frames are a tiny bit bent this happens. Why YOU ALWAYS LOOK DOWN AND VERIFY THE GUN IS CLEAR! if you are in the military they show you this, it's way you see soldiers LOOK down after opening the breech and before handing it to their commander for inspection. :-)

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks for sharing. Yes 1911's with internal extractor needs to be tuned. Better to get it fixed by a gun smith like you did. I know what you mean by showing clear. When I was handed the pistol they said it had 5 rounds. I fired 5, trusting what they said. I should have removed the magazine first. Was not pretty, but by racking the pistol I discovered it was still loaded. I kept the gun in a safe direction, and proceeded to clear it properly. Still kept to safety standards which is how I caught it. Will certainly follow the steps you mentioned to make sure I confirm clear in future.

    Did they charge you P3000 each or P3000 in total for both of you?? I know it's P1500 foreigner rates at Armscor Makati for all the rentals including 50 rounds.

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  7 лет назад +1

      Glad you called that out. Pistol package is P3000 for each Foreigner. Makati Square range is much more affordable for Foreigners at P1500 each. It is much cheaper for Filipino Citizens and Armscor Club Members, more info in the Description section. I wanted to cover this range as it is outdoor and much bigger. But it is a whopping price difference.

    • @fraserpaintain6165
      @fraserpaintain6165 7 лет назад +1

      Wow, double the price for the fresh air!! Same guns and bullets just a different range. It might be worth checking with them if the membership deal you can get at the Makati range would be valid to shoot at Marikina too. That might make it affordable if you were shooting more regularly.

  • @SpineAlignPH
    @SpineAlignPH 6 лет назад +2

    can you use 22tcm in practical shooting?

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  6 лет назад

      Good question. Short answer: probably not practical right now. Sure you can use it for plinking and training. Maybe even home defence. I immediately noticed the weight and recoil difference to 9mm. If you were hiking with a sidearm you would appreciate the weight savings. But no other manufacturers supporting it at the moment. Only a few Armscor (RIA) products: 1911's, MAPP1 pistol, bolt action rifle, and Glock conversion kits. The later 3 products were not available to demonstrate that day. Not the best impression at an Armscor store and range lol. The cartridge is basically a cut down .223 Remington. The advantages in theory to 9mm: higher velocity, longer range, lighter weight, lower recoil, similar dimensions, and terminal ballistics to 9mm. Could have a "perfect pair" of a pistol and carbine in the same calibre. Also saving ammo weight. It is an alternative to FN 5.7x28mm calibre used in the Five-seven pistol, and P90 SMG, or PS90 civilian carbine. FN products can be expensive and hard to find. So in that regard 22TCM is easier on sports shooters and reloaders. Armscor has their RIA M22 bolt action rifle around US $450. I've heard mixed reviews on the quality and accuracy. The Glock conversion kit is a whole new upper for around US $450. Does not seem popular for now, but at least they have it. I think 22 TCM would be more popular if there was a quality AR-15 carbine and pistol (SBR). Would better demonstration the ballistics. No recoil out of a rifle platform. Anyway time will tell. Hope those notes are helpful ;)

      It is very high. That was the inflated foreigner price. Really bad but common practice on foreigners. If you have a local Filipino friend, have them go in and check the prices first. I recommend the Makati Square range. Much easier to get to and more competitive pricing. Plus you can look at other gun stores in the mall.

      Oh an Makati range is P1000-1500 for foreigners. Depends on the type of gun and calibre. Try to get a Filipino friend to check the pricing first. It's a shame, but even brand name businesses can try skim cash off the top. Even hotels can try.

    Sir, are the guns really worth the money? Be honest! Or would you rather buy an american gun instead?

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  6 лет назад

      Yes, Armscor make good quality pistols. All the models I tried were accurate and reliable. Armscor pistols are popular in USA under the Rock Island Armory (RIA) brand. The only issue is they are more expensive in Philippines than in USA. Armscor should be more competitive with local pricing. The nature of 1911's require more maintenance. You have to keep them clean and lubed. Also make sure you have reliable magazines and recoil spring. I understand that side, and enjoy learning about the parts etc. For carry purposes I would prefer something more modern and lighter weight. You have to ask yourself what outcome are you after? What are you trying to do? Plinking and home defence, no problem. Carrying it all day, gosh the weight adds up. You're covered in sweat from the tropical heat. I don't mind about the brand names or imported goods. As long as it's reliable, I can learn to use it. Link below where I show a few other stores in Makati Manila.

    Cold firing?

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  3 года назад

      General explanations (your mileage may vary):
      Dry fire practise, no live ammunition. Simulating the discharge of a firearm or inert training tools. Range is 'Cold'.
      Cold range, all firearms are unloaded. No actual firing on the line.
      Hot range, all firearms are presumed loaded at all times. All gun handling and is done from the firing line. You can start shooting when ready.
      We did the range day 'competition style'. The firearms had been cleared and the range was treated "cold". Nothing in the chamber, and no magazine in the gun. Only allowed to load a firearm once on the firing line and ready to shoot. That way only one person was "hot" and shooting at a time. Much safer for training and easier to supervise our small group.

      Ask around or look up your local branch. I'm not sure what region you are in. I went to Makati and Marikina in Manila. Also branches in Cebu city, and Davao city.

      English is easier. This was a pistol range day. Basic close range drills and target practise. 1000 yards is long range precision rifle 😉👍

    How much do .22 TCM cartridges sell for?

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  7 лет назад

      Gosh I can't remember. They said because it is new factory ammo (not reloads) it is a little more than 9mm. New 9mm was P22 each cartridge, so maybe around P30?

    Here recently nobody that I can find in store or online has any 22 tcm9r in stock, I’m in the USA.

    • @BAdventures
      @BAdventures  6 лет назад

      Oh. I just did a google search and found some listed on US store. Honestly it doesn't surprise me. Amrscor / RIA don't seem to be supporting this calibre very well. Guys are reloading their own ammo as the factory 22TCM can be so inconsistent.

      Hmm I see. Maybe poor metal in paltik? That's why I made video, ammo and handgun is working fine. Also have to lubricate and clean inside the barrel.

    Same size as .38 super not 9mm. 9mm is like 4mm shorter than .22tcm and 38 super.

      Yes. That is why I showed the new TCM 9R cartridge in the video. It is designed to fit in 9mm magazines and conversions.
