This is an awesome amazing album brilliant 👍👌 can't keep up with ya playing all these albums tracks looks like ya enjoying ya Duran Duran bloody fantastic brilliant awesome musicians buddy
Cheers, and you're right, I'm tumbling down the Duran Duran rabbit-hole and not looking back! In fact, I just ordered their self-titled debut album and it should be here in a day or two. Looking forward to going through that one song by song (as I do the same with Future Past, All You Need Is Now, The Wedding Album, etc.!). Really happy some awesome Duran fans have found my channel and helped me on this journey. :)
And by the way, Love Depeche You’ll love the more Goth / Dark Duran But many many many DD fans have a lot of time for Depeche Ideally you should listen to some DD live, Look up Anyone out there live in Glasgow 82 Or Khanada live Hammersmith ocean 81 Or Careless Memories live London Wembley 2004 Or Hungry Like The Wolf live ( The Word ) UK TV show 1995 Just to give you a little DD live edge 😊😉👍
For me it's a dialog between an older and younger self.... But it's a two ways learning curve. Not the mature teaches the young. This album if filled with gems..... Too bad you're so beautiful and so complicated.....
Cheers, I love that perspective. And it's true---my younger self could learn a lot from the me of now, but my current self could probably learn a lot from the younger me too. Looking forward to going through the rest of the album, that's for sure!
Are you a Duranie yet Matt??? Seems like you are! Haven't seen a negative or disappointed reaction yet... For my part, as a Duranie since 1981... Your reactions are stellar! All I can say- Give John (bass) more credit. John's bass really drives their sound. I really enjoy your reactions as i sing along at top volume! Love it! React to the Rio album version of New Religion (a Duranie favorite) and also Tiger Tiger (instrumental) and The Chauffeur if you haven't already. Also the entire Astronaut album is fabulous!
Hey there! So I have now gone through all the studio albums, multiple live performances, some of the demo tracks, and solo Simon material. Lots of videos await you in the Duran Duran playlist should you wish to go the full journey with me. :) Cheers for the comment, and I certainly appreciate JT's bass!
Hello! My understanding is that album is a live performance from the tour for this album, All You Need Is Now. I am in the process of acquiring it, happily.
So happy you got the deluxe!! Because my favorite on this one is Early Summer Nerves which is a bonus track. Actually not true, Before the Rain is my favorite haha ❤️🍻
Hmmm, wait, maybe I didn't get the Deluxe Edition (even though there is a DVD included), as I don't see "Early Summer Nerves" on the back-cover tracklist. There's 15 songs (including "Before the Rain"), but I don't see "Early Summer Nerves." So yeah, maybe I got a CD+DVD copy but I guess it's not the Deluxe Edition. Bummer, but I'll see what I can do about it. Cheers.
@@suzannecorona6098 Ah, I see. Well I'll see what I can do to track that down, because you've got me very curious now. But in the meantime, I can at least react to the remaining 14 tunes on the version I have. Also I really appreciate the comments you've been providing, really enhancing my appreciation of the songs!
I see! And I love the idea of coming back to revisit a song or lyrical theme many years after you first explored it. Very cool. And yes, I'm going to go through the entire album in order. Cheers and thanks for commenting!
Yeah Tim, nice way of putting it ! @Matt... the album came about after a one-off concert in Paris where Mark Ronson 'remixed' their songs in a live set, sequeing them. It was a great meeting if minds and a mutual admiration of each other's work. Ronson became the 21st Century equivalent of their relationship with Nile Rodgers (which still continues) with Ronson challenging them to make the follow-up to 'Rio' which he felt the actual follow-up "7 and The Ragged Tiger" fell short of. Insisting Rhodes get out ALL his old keyboards (which he still maintains) they revisited some of the old Rio and 80s sounds but updated them. For example "Runway Runaway" has shades of "Last Chance On The Stairway", "Leave A Light On" has a Save A Prayer vibe and "The Man Who Stole A Leopard" brings back sequencers used in "The Chauffeur", Ronson's (and mine!) favourite DD track. It was a return to form for the band with Ronson keeping DD focused on what they do best and what he felt bands like The Killers had taken the mantle of, so Ronson told them to reclaim that ground.
@@izzyworld8068 Once again, this information really enhances my understanding of their history, creative process, and creation of this album specifically. Thank you so much, man. You're really helping me in my journey of becoming a massive Duran fan!
Top tune 😎👌👌

No problem, I appreciate how thoughtful, yet analytical you are with your approach. Had some friends subscribe as well 🍻

This is a close follow up of Rio. Almost a rio second side 30 years later. Do more from this album plesse.
