- What's up, people! I'm back with another Duran Duran reaction, and this time we listen to a song multiple folks have suggested and praised, so I was really keen to get to this one quickly. As such, join me as we listen to this remarkable and, as you'll see, surprising tune! Let's go!!!!

This band is so incredibly versatile!
This song never stops to blow my mind up! What a great of an ending for this album! If you want listen to a completely different song go to Breath after Breath, another amazing song!
You got it! I'll do that one soon for sure. And thanks for going on this journey with me, your comments are really helping me appreciate the tunes!
Seriously, you Duran Duran fans are some of the best folks on RUclips! Positive, fun music-lovers. :)
Great song 👌👌
Mr. Warren Cuccurullo in action.
Love this song! It always gave me a slight New Orleans "scat" sound, esp at the chorus.
That sudden genre shift at 3:18
Don’t know why but every time I finish listening to this song I have go and listen to Downtown and My Antarctica from Liberty!🤷♀️
So much goin on in this song its shouldn't work but its a masterpiece. It works. Very experimental.
Behave Warren! Keep it under control 🤩😂
Mind blower!
Enjoying your Duran reactions. Been a Duranie since I was 8 ( 1984) this is arguably my favourite song. Definitely one not many love, but the ones that do adore it.
Thanks for the comment! And indeed, I think this one is a masterpiece!
Yay!!😊😊
Epic bass, brilliant keys, wicked guitar, great lyrics, epic variant of verses and epic chorus!
This is why we love Duran
So many styles
One great Duran quote that’s been around forever
Styles change style doesn’t
Kinda sums up Duran musically
So many avenues!
Thanks so much for what your doing mate 👍
Hi Matt, What a tume this is definitely a fan favourite, yah this is a true story commeted on by Simon, he didn't do this that often but another song that was a true news story was Playing With Uranium, great tune! Thanks for the pleasure ur giving me and other DD fans watching your reactions! 👍LENNY
Estimado amigo, volvía a ver tu reacción y me parece genial.
It blows ya head off with everything goin on awesome 👍
Nice to see more and more people are realizing the quality of this band. They go by the beat of their own drum while mainstream music consistently goes down shit road.
Thanks for doing this song. None of the above is a banger too.
Classic Duran final album track. Up there with The Chauffeur, Seventh Stranger and Still Breathing as a breathtaking and atmospheric way to sign off. I think JT was the driving force behind this one!
Hey, since you liked this I think you should check Downtown out, it’s from the Liberty album, I have always thought the two songs should have been on the same album 😉
Right on, I'm still trying to find a good-quality, affordable copy of that album but will certainly get it soon!
This song is about a real news story of a club in New York City 'Happyland' that got on fire and many died.
I see. So a more modern Triangle Shirtwaist tragedy (it was a fire in New York in the early 1910s).
Although that one was especially grim (and repugnant) because the workers had been locked into their production-floor during work hours (by decree of managers). So when the fire came, they were trapped inside.
Sorry Mari I didn't see this when I posted my comment. Nice to know the full info x
@@mattsnider2667 eerily, both fires happened on the same date 'March 25th.'😬
Warren Cuccurullo is the guitar God!
Warren Cucurullo the 'genius' guitarist in Duran Duran before he left. A composer, a music writer, a music arrangement maker, style of he play the guitar riff so different and genius musician.
I wonder what inspired DD to write about this event. Tragic, senseless loss of life.
Happy Land fire
The Happy Land fire was an act of arson that killed 87 people on March 25, 1990. The 87 victims were trapped in the unlicensed Happy Land social club, ...
Deaths: 87
Location: West Farms, The Bronx, New York City, New York, U.S.
Motive: Argument with ex-girlfriend
Date: March 25, 1990; 32 years ago; 3 a.m. EDT
Question for you, Matt: Have you gotten "Astronaut" yet?
Hey there! No, I don't have it yet (though that's the next one I'm going to buy), but a couple people have given me access to drives/files with Duran material, and that album is among them, so I'll be able to start reacting to it soon!
I haven't listened to this for years . No idea why not but u reminded me how funky it was. I am not sure if this is based on a real story of a night club where someone burnt it down because of a grudge or revenge and that nothing was done about it, possibly because it was just clubbers who died, or it was ignored for race reasons or it was because of a criminal cover up.
Not sure if this is correct but I remember it mentioned in an interview with the band back in 93.
I love as about to write the same! It’s been a while and I still just love it. Going on a playlist!
Puedes poner subtítulos por favor. Creo que es interesante lo que 😊 dices, pero no alcanzo a entender todo.
.
never liked this song. always seemed to me to be a patch work sewing badly too many musical ideas, but the falling at the seams.
Nah you're just wrong IMO
